Bra fitting help » Smaller cup or different style? Plus the everpresent sideboob

Issue resolved
I've decided to just give up on this bra. Apparently it is just too much bra for my boobs. The search goes on!
Original problem
I'm very new to this quest to find the right bra, and I just received my first (supposedly) correct-sized bra in the mail yesterday. The band is super comfortable, as are the straps. The only issue is the big empty space in the top of the cups. Unfortunately, growing up not wearing proper bras combined with being on the fatter side have given my breasts a shape similar to tube socks stuffed with filling (elongated with a relatively small circumference). I've tried the swoop and scoop, I swooped and scooped for a good 45 minutes, but I guess I just don't have enough stuff to fill out the tops. So should I drop down a cup size, or is this just not the style for me?
Also, there's this side boob that just doesn't go anywhere. I scoop and swoop and stuff it into my cups, but the crease that developed after so long remains, even when not wearing a bra at all, which makes me question whether it is even sideboob at all and not just fat. As well, as soon as I move my arms in any way, the tissue comes popping right back out.

helpfulI know this bra and it is a very difficult model, that doesn't fit a lot of women. There is a reason it is sold that cheap on ebay.
IMO it is a completely wrong shape for you.
I would try halfcups like the Elomi Lara Halfcup or the Elomi Paloma. The Goddess Keira might also be worth a shot. It is difficult to tell though, bc the padding obscures your natural breast shape. When asking for fitting help pictures of unpadded bras are best.
Unfortunately a lot of the bras that might work on a breastshape like yours are only available up to a 38 band. Do you think you could go down in bandsize? Maybe wear a 38 band with an extension?

helpfulDid you measure your rib cage tightly? I think your side boob that wont move into the cup and stay there could mean that your band is too loose. From what I have learned, the tighter band holds the wires against you nice and firm to keep the breast tissue in. The cup looks a little large, but this could be all the breast tissue stuck under your arm....I see in your description that you are full on the bottom, empty on top, and your boobs are far apart. I wonder if the side boob is where your boobs are supposed to sit, OR if it is migrated breast tissue. I think it would help to know this information to determine whether or not this is the right type of bra for you. Meaning, right now the cup may be large, but if all of your stuff were to migrate back and stay in there, it might fill the cup in better? Or, if your boobs are just super wide set and that is why you have boob in your underarm, then this is probably not your style.

helpfulI don't think your first right size bra should be a molded or padded one. Also, I think you should try one of Elomi's side support styles (Caitlyn, Cleo or Tamarie) - pretty sure that would solve your sideboob problem. Maybe even forever
You can try one in the same size, i think it would work much better as you can tighten the straps for a better fit.Updated on September 21, 2012 Flag this

Tamarie doesn't work on bottom-heavy breasts, it is cut too steep in the lower part of the cup. Elomi Cleo Side support will be too much bra, ditto for Elomi Cleo Bandless, there will be loose fabric on top. Caitlyn might work, but I think it will be too deep in the cup. The Goddess Keira has a similar shape to the Elomi Caitlyn, but is shallower, that is why I recommended it.

hard to say really cause we can't really see the boobs in their nude houses :) What do you mean by "too much bra"?

The Elomi Cleo Cleo Side Support and the Elomi Cleo Bandless are both cut very much like fullcups. Lots of fabric that is fabulous on me and my very soft large breasts, but Ivy Queen and her breasts will simply drown in so much fabric.

Yep, we're all so different. I also like lots of fabric and firm control for those long days at work. I'm always sad that elomi doesn't make smaller bands. i'm even considdering on ordering one and altering the band cause they're the firmest bras I've seen so far. I would apreciate your suggestions on the matter :)

There are some 32G bras by Elomi on sale on ebay, they were specially made for modelling purposes. You could look at those.
Altering down the band is not a good idea on Elomi, bc on Elomi the wires are very wide to start with and altering down will make them even wider. Unless your overall shape is really suited to Elomi altering down is not a good idea.

I am also sad Elomi & Goddess don't make sub 34 band sizes. I am a sucker for side seams, since they push my wide-rooted boobs on front.

helpfulYour band doesn't look nearly tight enough. You can't possibly scoop breast tissue in (all of it) with a band that's riding up in the back. I would maybe drop down a band size but stay the same cup size if you can't fill out these ones, that way both the cup and the band will be small enough.

The center front (between the cups) has a shadow under. This is not supposed to be (maybe the band size a bit smaller). Once you make the center front sit on the chest comfortably check out the cups again. I think the contradiction with this bra is that the low center front in combination with full cups. If i were you i would try a balconette which is lower cut on the cups. I am afraid there is little to do with the side boobs. I have asked about mine to a bra designer at Royce Lingerie and she said there is not much to do about them. Sorry.
The side boobs are

It could also be that because you are bottom heavy, you might need a different style of bra....like a balconette maybe?
