Original problem
Supposedly, this is supposed to be a Balconette bra, ideal for my shape boob... whilst the bottom of the cup & most of the cup is filled on top on one side, you can clearly see I'm no where close with my other side!
I've been measured now to be a 28F/FF so, but I was measured as a 28D/DD a few months back.
I would say that I feel like I'm fairly flat chested though, so being measured at first as a 28DD was a shock!I'm reluctant to spend more on bras that just don't fit, but I'm not really sure what's going wrong either! It's all getting rather frustrating!
Any recommendations on to what bra I should look for? Ideally, I'm looking for some every day stuff... Apparently soft cup is best when you're first starting out in new size bras, to allow your breasts go back into their natural shape, but I'm not sure how this bra is supposed to help me.
I have been doing the scoop & swoop too!
Thank you for any help!

helpfulDear Snakecharmer, you got shallow boobs. Bras that work well on boobs like yours are padded halfcups like the Cleo Juna and related cuts.
I think the Flirtelle Dahlia is too deep in the cup in the cup for you, this is why it wrinkles. I also think the wires might be too narrow, in this case you might be dealing with the additional complication of an Orange-in-a-glass: you boobs cannot get between the wires of the bra, thus they cannot fill the cup.
If you want an unpadded bra, try the Cleo Lucy. Panache Harmony Balconette (if you can still find it on ebay) might also work as well as some bras by Change. Essentially you need bras that are shallow in the cup with wide wires. The Flirtelle Dahlia is neither.

Thanks for your help! I wish I knew about this site before I went & bought a load of new ones! :)

I've got a similar shape and size, you can go through my bras, they could fit you too :) (Lucy, Juna, Harmony were all a perfect fit for me. I need shallow bras with wide wires too :) )

helpfulWhile this is said to be a balconnet, to me the shape at the top of the cup on this bra resembles something closer to a balcony style ie. It comes up higher on the chest than a balconnet would, a balconnet tends to be cut lower and the top line of the cup is straighter across the top of the bust. In effect you are getting a slightly deeper cup with this than you would with a true balconnet bra.
I have zero experience with the Flirtelle brand so I am not sure if this is something that is common among all their styles or just specific to this particular model. Going down in the cup might work, but I think in general just looking for a style that is more typical of a true balconnet shape will probably give a better fit. I too am full on bottom, shallow on top and personally find the Panache Harmony Balconnet is a terrific fit on me. It's discontinued but still fairly readily available on eBay (make sure you are getting the balconnet style as it is also available in a full cup). Other styles I have heard mentioned that are a good style for this breast shape is the Panache Confetti (again discontinued but still available on eBay) and I believe the Cleo Marcie is shallow in the cup.

helpfulA cup size down might be ideal for you. This cup size is definitely too large, but the band looks about right. In this bra, a 28D might be better.

helpfulI have to ask, where did you go that you were measure at F/FF ? Also, are these photos from when you measured at DD or F/FF?
I would say the cup is at least a size too big. The straps look like they're adjusted too short. For the smaller breast this is acceptable to do to help balance out shape and size, but to a certain degree.
I second the Panache Harmony. If you're really an F I have one of those in black that I'll be listing soon, but it will probably fit like this one and the cup will be too big. When it did fit me the shape it gave was good. Not pointy like other unlined bras. Based on your measurements it would actually be too small in the cup for you, since its cup depth is closer to 8.5" and your BP is 9.5" (are you sure about that, btw? It must be messing up your recs to have it listed so high for a much smaller cup)

I thought it seemed strange too! I've tried a couple of different sites, and it seems adamant that I'm a 28F, and I'm not quite buying it either!
I think I'll stick to D/DD... I think I'm definitely quite small chested, and a couple of the D to DD bras still fit well, just not this one I guess!
I bought this one when I measured up as a DD, and I measured as an F the other day, this picture was taken the other day too... That's why I'm thinking something must be a little messed up somewhere!
I seem to have a wide breast, but not a very depth-y breast... if that makes sense? I think perhaps the best bet is to find a bra shop & just go mad with trying stuff on!

Do yourself a favour and measure your bust circumference bowed forward. On shallow and wide breasts like yours this usually gives a more accurate idea of breast size than measuring standing up. I think your true size might be between 28D and 28FF, putting you in the 28 E/F range. The defining factor for your size should be wire width - if the wire is wide enough and does not sit on breast tissue the size is right, you then need to find bras that are shallow enough.

I think it needs to be said that you can't always rely on bra size calculators or any specific method for "measuring". I can think of numerous sites where I have punched in my numbers and got very different results. None of them are really right since all bras fit a bit differently. Conversely not all of them are wrong either since once in a while I do come across a bra that fits in the size suggested by a calculator. Save for the calculator that told me I was a 28g. Never have come close to fitting that size!!

Flirtelle has very shallow cups to begin with, as they are a sister brand of Curvy Kate. The Juna I think won't be that much better.
