Bra fitting help » Confetti baffled me

Issue resolved
Wires too wide, cups too separate, all in all a wrong shape for my boobs. Sizing up or down in cup and band would not fix this.
Listed the bra for sale, if it doesnt get a new owner I will alter the gore and maybe top of the cups. Thanks everyone, you were wonderful I caught a EM pl burgund on sale, so we'll se how it goes.
Original problem
I just dont get this bra. It seems too small and too big at the same time.
The first few pictures were done with a scoop an jiggle. The rest were done with intense scooping all the way from the back.
I went with a 28 as I read it ran loose and strechy. The tip was spot on - it's looser than some 30's I own.
The wires i think are too separate for my boobs but Im willing to alter the gore as this is a common problem for me. wires dont seem to wide, but you can see what happens after excessive scooping. If i do it moderately, the top of the cup has room, looks weird under a shirt - it looks like a bulge even though its empty. I just cant adjust myself into theese cups. And the bra doesnt feel supportive enough, I get a bit of a jiggle. Any thoughts? Recommendations?
Oh, and Im pmsing big time, so I dont know which of theese problems will get worse when my boobs blow out. Please see my other pictures for compairing

helpfulSevere case of reversed letterphobia http://drueberunddrunter.blogspot.de/2012/04/english-reversed-letterphobia-and-war.html in combination with a cupshape that isn't right for you. The wires are way too wide for you, you can see this on 2 of 11 picture where you indicate where you boob is with your finger. At the same time the cup is overall too shallow for you, indicated by the centergore that hovers miles away from your chest. The tight band doesn't help matters, it makes them worse instead.
The Confetti does not run loose in the band, it only feels that way to you bc the too wide wires extend the band.

Hard to say with a fit that is this far off from your actual breastshape.
My recommendation to you would be to order the Panache Andorra Fullcup in a bunch of sizes around 30HH to figure out your "base" size. The Andorra works really well on a lot of women, plus I think it is well suited to your breast shape. At least I think it will fit you better than the Confetti.
If you could post pictures of the Cleo Alexa and maybe the 32H Cleos and Freyas, we might be able to narrow it down a bit.
-
I avtually orderd a 30j in andorra as i read id looks rounder in a bigger cup, but it never came. Still in dispute. Im hesitant to order any more cause everyone around me thinks Im crazy and obsessed with bras and are planning an intervention :)
I will poste some more fitting issues, so happy I can finaly do it from my phone :) -
Ive put up some antoinette and lucy pictures, Im working on alexa now. Can you see them on my profile or do I have to link them?
-
You can put the address in the "See shared pictures" link next to your review.
If your pictures are set to be shown of course :)

helpfulA very uneducated guess (I am just training here):
You and Panache are wrong on so many levels you should just break up
Start with reading this: http://www.bralessinbrasil.com/2012/07/torso-length-height-underarm-fit-and.html
Your boobs don't reach the bottom of the cups because your boobs sits higher up.
But even more so you need deeper cups. Panache are done for shallower boobs. You have very full boobs.
You take Freya and Effuniak. I take CK and Panache. Deal?

Crap. Can I get away with cleo at least? Like a lover sort of? :) I dont really like freya. And some ewas are a bit like a peasnt girl going for a roll in the hay :D not all of them though. I read the brasil blog, but I seem to be a more visual person, missing some boobage there :)
-
Cleo could work if you get the right size, the Cleo bras have narrower and shorter wires. And the Andorra, bc it has similar shorter and narrower wires. But the Confetti and the Harmony? List them for sale.
-
After seeing your other pictures I will be even more sure about what I just said. No Panache. You really need deeper cups.
For a bra blogger with a shape looking more similar to yours than brasIhate I'd start stalking Curvy Wordy :) She is bigger than you but I do think you have the same boob shape :)
t_maia: you've said somewhere Melissa has narrower wires? I'm thinking that might work here? :)
-
The wires of Melissa are usually too soft to be really stable. Plus most people only order Melissa bc they want/need the nursing bras.
I would try Ewa Michalak first, they are better constructed than Melissa. Plus the wires on the Cleos are that much too wide that Ewa seems to be the best solution at the moment.
That said, I completely agree that you need deeper cups. Sometimes going for a larger band and a smaller cup aktually helps.I know somebody who should wear a 30JJ based upon her measurements, but she chooses to go for a bras in 32GG, 32H and 34G bc in those sizes the wires actually fit her.
If the band stretches too much, sew some unelastic fabric into the band.
-
I can't wear Panache bras because I need the deeper cups, but I can wear Cleo bras. Out of curiosity, why don't you like Freya? Have you tried the sister brand, Fantasie?
-
t_maia Thanks. Then I have a little more understanding of Melissa :)
@properlyfitted: Fantasie! The brand everyone always forget. That should work though :)
-
So not even Cleo Alexa? :((( and Andorra is out as well?
I dont like the freya shape. It cuts in and it pushes the top of my boobs down, makes them a bit pointy - it doesnt feel natural to me.
Ive been a Curvy Wordy stalker for a while now, But I cant figure out their sizing. The calculator says 75H, but I see her wearing 65's and she does have a widder ribcage. Dnow where to start. She wasnt realy infightful with the sizing either. You are right about 32 gg - I have a cleo lizzie and a ck princess in this size. The wires on the lizzie are perfect. The cup is way too small but its open on top so it doesnt cut in, so I sometimes wear it when I want crristina hendrics clevage. Not often as you may imagine :)
Cutvy Kate I just hate. I dont fit the showgi line as you may imagine, and their unpaded give me the upside down 7 look which again is not my natural shape. And they cut in.
I have never tried a padded cup. Ever. Too afraid it would make me look even bigger. And have never tride a plunge bra. Because If you look at my lucy pictures, my boobs bulge over and meet above so Im too afraid I would be falling out of plunges.
Andorra is out as well?
I was looking into some fantasie side support bras (Im a big fan of that feature ever since I was jamming myself in 75f felina bras, which was a long long time ago)
But there is so little information on Fantasie Im reluctant to try. -
Oh, and I have the chantelle rive gouche in 34 f and 32ff . The wires on the 32 ff and the wire separation on that is perfect but it still gives me a quadboob. And the band is obviously too loose. 32 ggs cut in also, 32 h's also and they have too wide wires.
-
Andorra might work. It's constructed extremely smart so it suits all shapes kind of. But I second Effuniak and Fantasie if you don't like Freya.
Effuniak seems inconsistent in sizing but it's not more expensive sending back and forth than other Europe bras :)
Band sizes too big is always easy to alter. I'd say you should try Effuniak in a style that's been tried out and has reviews so that you'll know better what to go for. But if you have the money buy a pair and return those who doesn't work? :)
That's what I've been doing with brastop :D
-
will do, as soon as I see my paycheck :) but I havent got a clue as to what sizes I shoud try - bratabase reccomends 70 h koktajil, and 75 gg in lato and onyks, and their online calculator says im a 75 H o.O
Also, any fantasie insight on shape and size? -
If Freyas always cut in, you might want to experiment with sizing too. Freya's wires are quite soft, thus they get easily bend out of shape. The band is stretchy too, this all contributes to people going down in bandsize. Thus the cup might get pulled flat and the rim of the cup cuts in, despite it being the right size.
But if it is really a matter of cupshape, you could give the Fantasie fullcups a whirl. Fantasie Kara Fullcup(if you can still find it on ebay) is IMO the best-constructed of all Fantasie bras, bc there the fabric and the wires they used are actually up to the job of supporting a 38K. On other Fantasie bras the wires and the band are usually too soft. This is especially true for the Fantasie Belle, yet this bra has a loyal following bc it has the deepest cups I ever encountered on any bra.
Another brand to keep your eyes peeled for might be German Ulla Dessous. Mind, they are helleluva expensive, bc handmade in Germany has its price. But they are very roomy in the upper part of the cup, thus they might be just what you need.

Where do I start with fantasie and ewa sizez?

helpfulIf you can't fill the bottom, the bottom of the cup may be too shallow for you. The top seam looks like it fits in some places (towards the gore) but not away from it, as if it expects you to be fuller on the sides- others on bratabase seem to report that the cup is pretty wide.
I'd say you need a different shape bra- something made for your close breasts- maybe a Freya unlined like Lyla, Arabella, or Faye, which appear to have closer-set cups (from data on this website). However, if you don't plan on returning the bra, altering the gore may change cup placement for the better.

I feel with a lot of bras that my boobs just want to sit higher then where the wires are. Freya bras Ive tried tend to cut into me, the wire doesnt sit flat (it never does) and I dont really like the shape - its too east-west and pointy for my liking, but I am willing to compromise. Ive had cutting in issues with a lot of bras so Ive figured that im full on top and decided to avoid arabella and similar styles. Do you think that was a mistake?
-
If the wires tend to sit lower than the breasts are this is usually caused by either 1) too narrow wires, in which case you are dealing with an orange-in-a-glass or 2) the cup of the bra is simply too big. In some cases the wires of certain bras (especially Panache) can also be too long and your armpits might push the wires down, but then switching to another style (especially Curvy Kate) usually solves this problem.
-
Curvy cate from my experience has one of the most pathetic wires I have ever seen. They make beautiful stuff that just gets uglier in larger sizes as they make the upper part of the cup bigger and bigger. The showgirl line is wearable for me only in the bedroom, and their balconettes give me the worse shape ever. And I dont find them really comfortable.
-
Making an educated guess CK is simply too shallow and too wide. But have you tried Flirtelle? They are similar to CK, but for some reason people who need narrow wires and deep cups do better in Flirtelle than in CK. Flirtelle is exclusive to Brastop.
-
I never tried it, it looked the same to me. Worth a shot, they are cheap :)

helpfulYou can still get away with wearing bras from Panache. Take in the center gore. Panache makes bra that for some reason point east, west and down , the dart in the gore corrects this problem and gives them a more forward projection. The cup might be a smidge too wide but when you scoop properly it's important to have cups big enough to hold the migrated breast tissue. Otherwise the wires will still sit on your boobs even if you think the wire is encasing them.
When the wire dips below your boob and causes spillage at the top like you're experiencing this is a case of "orange in a glass", especially if it's accompanied by a loose apex. The band looks fine. Even if it had the stand 4" stretch this would still fit you, because this band does run a little looser than others.

In some reason, when I scoop my ass of the sides of the bra are left completly empty and everythig comes high up front, and bulges over. The wires that fit me the best are 32ff rive gauche 3 part cup an 32 gg cleo lizzie, but both are too shallow in the cup and they cut in.
-
My suggestion would be to measure those wires that fit you and look for wires similar to that in onlineshops specialising in lingerie making. Wires are very cheap, just a few Euros.
I think it would be very interesting to see what happens if you replaced the wires of an old, unfitting and too small bra with too wide wires with wires that fit you. Theoretically the band should get tighter and the cup deeper, allowing you more room in front. A friend of mine replaced the wires in her Curvy Kates with the ultra stable wires of a too small and very worn Panache Ariza, the result was jawdropping.
-
Vlatka, when you scoop, make sure you hold the wire in place. Sometimes what can happen is when you scoop so much you end up forcing the cups/wires down and the result is spilling out of the top with empty sides and bottoms.
-
Wow, how do you change the wires? Do you just rip out the seam and then seam it again when you're done?
-
There's a tiny amount of stitching that keeps the wire channels closed. You would only need to undo this on one end of each wire, swap the wires, then close it back up. You can stitch it closed by hand but ideally it's best to do by machine due to fabric thickness and getting the tension even. A few straight stitches with a tight zigzag over that and it's done.
-
Thanks for the tip!
-
I've thought on exchanging the wires. Exchanging the wires changes the fit of the bra, you usually have the least problems if you use wires of one cupsize down or up of the same bra. I thus think the ideal candidate for such an experiment would be a Cleo Lizzie or a Cleo Alexa in 32H or 32HH (or another Cleo bra), and the wires that should go into that bra should be the wires of the 32GG Cleo Lizzie or something very similar.
-
I did that a few weeks ago but with bras that were just too different in size. I tok a 34g wires from a slovenian brand lisca and put them in harmony 32 jj. The results were laughable, there was wrinkling alog the seam and half of the wire channel was empty :) but the bra did get really comfortable though ( cause that stiff wires dont extend to my back anymore) and I now use it as a leasure bra and sometimes even a sleep bra. But it still looks funny :)
-
Could a 30j alexa or a 32h lucy do in chopping experimemts? :)
-
Inserting narrower wires frees up unused space in the cup. It gives the cup more depth and volume where you actually need it.
Since the Alexa in 30J is already too big for you, this will not work.
Cleo Lucy in 32H - I would be very interested in seeing that.
-
I was wondering about that expression for some times. But I have tried a lot of sizes and shapes and dont know where to turn anymore. I went from a 34 f in chantelle, to a 32 ff in chantelle, to a 32g in fantasie, 32 gg in curvy kate,to a 32 h in freya and cleo. Recently Ive been wearing the 30 j alexa that is a bit too big in the cups, but at least I dont get a quadboob like in the rest of them. All of them! I read the bras i hate blog on confetti and followed her tip as it seemed to me we have a similar shape. The band doesnt feel that tight and the wires dont get distorted. Where would you put me size wise?
