Issue resolved
bra was returned. i need a bra that doesn't make the boobs so east/west. the fabric was too stretchy to provide good enough support.
Original problem
are the underwires in the right spot? i feel like i'm very east/west in this bra, not the nicest shape.

This is a definite no go. It is too big for you and doesnt do much for the boobies. I dont think a smaller side would do much either. If you dont want east - west, send it back and never look back

helpfulThe underwires aren't pulled out of shape, that is very good. But whether they are in the right position only you can tell. How far the breasts extend to the back is very individual and varies a lot.
I have a very wide root and need very wide wires (26 cm would be ideal), but I have met women who wear the same bra size as I do who need wires that are 16 cms wide.
I think the size is right, but I also think you can find better bras that do not cover you up as much and that are less east-west.
