Issue resolved
The bra is just the wrong shape for me
Original problem
The gore doesn't lie flat on its own though the cups seem big enough & I can easily push the gore in. It's almost like my very close boobs are pushing the gore out. Or is this just fanciful thinking & I really need a bigger cup size? I have a similar but less extreme issue with my Freya Jolie in the same size. I kept the Jolie as it was a very cheap sale bra but I am inclined to return this one ....

helpfulI have very close breasts and often find that to be a problem. The exact thing happens to me, I can push the gore down and it will sit flat. But because I have a small ribcage I tend to wear bras on a tighter hook, which makes the gore pull out farther. For example (26" r/c) my Freya Lauren in a 28H is most comfortable on the tightest hooks, but the gore pulls more. I noticed you are wearing a 30 band, but your r/c is 31.5 inches. If you have one handy I'd suggest trying an extender to loosen the band a touch, not so much that you loose your support, to see if the cups will lay better and the gore flattens. The band looks great on, but it may be pulling the wires toward your back decreasing the cup depth, causing the gore to lift.

I am glad I wasn't just imaging a cause and that this happens to someone else. It only happens with Freya bras, I feel that their wires are a little less rigid perhaps. Anyway I have decided to return this bra despite how comfortable it felt as the gore was only going to stab me in the boob!
Thank you
To add, if you find that it works but you want a 30 that means you may need a cup that allows for that forward projection more. The ones I am thinking of escape me for now.
