Bra fitting help » Weird fold is distorting shape?

Issue resolved
I'll try some with bigger cups and smaller bands
Original problem
I am pretty sure this fits pretty well: When I lean back, the cup seems a little bit to big, and when I lean forward, it seems a little too small. Also, I have asymmetric breasts, and on the small one, it is a little too wide, and on the big one, it is a little too narrow, so I think that is as good as it gets.
But! There is a weird fold! It is difficult to see on the pictures even though it is quite noticeable in reality, but the bottom of the cup, for about and inch, the cup has an indent - which makes the cup sit a bit lower on my body (there is no room for boob in that flat part of the cup, so it must sit underneath), and also tips the whole shape of the cup a bit, so the peak of the cup, which is supposed to be pointing forward, points slightly down - not a good look!
I think it may be because of pockets for pads: As you can see, there is quite a lot of fabric! And all the wrinkles indicate that they don't lay flat in the cup, even in the one with a pad.Should I cut out the pockets? I have worn this bra for a few days now, hoping it would even out, but a) because it sits slightly lower on my body than my breast crease, the wire kind of hurts, so not so nice if I am slouching, and b) because the shape right now is a bit "sad boob", I am not keen to wear it out to fancy thing yet. So I would really like to fix this before weeks and weeks of wear!
Speaking of asymmetric breasts: it tends to distort the whole fit of the bra, because the center gore does not sit in the center, it is always slightly closer to the big boob: Also, wires dig horribly at the arm-pit for the small boob: Even with a pad, I get these problems. What to do?
(Wait, why is the 3rd picture of the bra not here?)

helpfulMy bras do the same thing on me... my breasts sit higher on my torso than is normal, which means that my bras sit too low on my chest. How far away is the underwire from your tissue? If it's more than a centimeter, I'd bet you have the same problem that I do. (Check out my bras and you'll see what I mean.)
If it is the same problem, then you need to a) get a bra that will stay up, b) pull up on the underwire when putting the bra on, and c) shorten the straps. (Pulling up involves pulling the cups up so that the underwire sits just under your tissue, while scooping from the bottom and sides, so that all your tissue is contained within the cup.)
I think I may have solved it by going for what seems like a ridiculously small band. My ribcage measures 31.5 inches, and I have started wearing 30 bands, since 32s are loose enough to slide down. The cup size itself looks fine. Try a 32J. It might looks a bit tight, but a loose band will manage to slide down.

If it's on its tightest hook and still sliding down, then the band is still loose enough to slide down. A 34 would work for you if your breasts were lower on your body... but they aren't. Thus, the band needs to be extra-tight in order to keep from sliding around.
And where have you gone for fittings? I hate it when fitters give people crap about trying something that they want to try...

I do think my breasts are very high on my body, if compressed, they are easily up to my collar-bones, so I will try to order a smaller band size next time, or maybe I will alter some of the ones I have (this one for example) Thanks! I never considered that the position of the breasts would affect the band size, but it makes sense.
That particular experience was at a ID Lingerie, which is just a single store (I considered writing a complaint, but no point as it was probably the owner who fitted me), but I get that pretty much everywhere I go, being pretty big everywhere but my middle section (which, in loose clothing, is no where to be seen), they just refuse to believe that my band would not be plus-sizes, and as you may know, the EU band size-numbers are much smaller than the actual cm measurement of the bra (34"=86cm, but a 34band is called 75 in EU), which makes it that much harder to explain that my 85cm doesn't mean I need a 85/38band.
Here in Denmark bra-knowledge is zero, and there is a glass roof at FF: I even wrote to a store who stocked Curvy Kate and Freya, but they refused to stock higher than FF. Haven't been able to be fitted since I was 16 and announced out of range (though naively go into stores sometimes to see if things have changed) So happy about bratabase :)
(*There is Change Lingerie who recently expanded to H, but I have many things to say about them!) -
If you are in Denmark check out lace.dk. They have an online shop and two stores, one in Arhus and one in Flensburg, Germany. They stock up to JJ and start at a 30 band.

Sounds like we have similar shapes. :) I still haven't figured it out totally... but the Freya Deco stays up well if you go small in the band.

@t maia: I didn't know Lace actually had shops, I thought it was just online! I wrote a mail to them, as there stores are very far from me, it would cost me $40 to go there, so I want to make sure it would be worth my trouble: they only have "C-K" in their stores, and I don't know if that is in UK sizes or EU sizes...
@qlyla: Ah, the Freya Deco only goes to G, and if I was to get a 32 band, I would probably need a J

Sorry! I always forget that they lack sizes. You should contact them about it though... if enough people do, they might realize that there are a lot of G+ women who want that bra in their size.

helpfulI don't think the pockets are the problem. The problem is that there is extra room in the bottom of the cup. You say your boobs are full on bottom, so it is possible that they are too big on bottom for the cup. It is the "orange in a glass effect": the bottom of the cup is too tight for your breasts to fit into, so the bottom of the cup lies empty.
This is really common with padded bras, as they are usually more stiff and less likely to conform to the breast. I never see it to this extent in unpadded bras.
Sometimes this can be helped by grabbing the top edge of the cup and pulling it upward while letting the breast settle into the bottom of the cup. This only works if there is room enough in the bottom of the cup though.
A bigger cup might help, but if that would make it too wide, you should look for a different style. Good luck!

helpfulI know the issue you're talking about and I'm actually surprised it's happening with an Ewa bra, as these have been the only ones where I don't get that fold beneath my boobs.
Does it "stick" if you pull up the cups one by one by grabbing the ends of the underwires?
I'm guessing not. In my experience, this often happens when the cup does not have enough room for your boobs at the bottom and the band is not quite tight enough, so the cups get pushed down.

How do you mean, pull by the ends of the underwires? If I pull in the underwire and the top of the cup, I can straighten it, and it points forward as it is supposed to, but as soon as I let go, it folds again.
I've had this on the tighest hook from day one (yes, I know.. But I had removed the tag before I checked the fit properly), so would I need to go down more than one size in the band then?

helpfulHave you tried going up a cup? I know you say this is as good as it gets, but everything in your description indicates too small cups.
Another thought: I find the CH style to be unforgiving when the boobs shift. Have you tried an HP style or even a HM style? They hold the boobs closer to the body and so there might not be a huge volume difference when you lean back or forward.

It looks very similar to the problem you had with the deco and tiffany! The wire is maybe up to an 1 inch further down than my breast crease, so seems like the same. When I tighten the straps on this one ride up the back and digs in my shoulders, and give me a bit of quadroboob.
This is 36/80H on tightest hook, so I thought I just needed a 34/75HH, but maybe I need a 32/70JJ? Eek! Already fitters laugh at me and refuse to show me anything below 38 (happened just yesterday)
