Bra fitting help » need cup size smaller?
Curvy Kate » Fleurty Balcony Bra (SG1301) » 30HH 30:12
it's such a tricky thing to find out a bra size! I have Thrill me (in grape) in 30H and it's at least 1 size small in cup for me. So I've ordered Fleurty in 30HH and don't understand if I need a smaller size. There's gaping at the top of the cups and the cups go very high under my arms. Will 30H fit better?

helpfulI'm trying to understand what it is I'm seeing. So this is just a hypothesis again:
I think the strap position on this bra makes your boobs flow to the middle. There they might push the cups forward and out a bit and at the same time they tries to settle lower in the bra.
The bra is probably just a little to weak for your boobs. Again I don't think the cups are too big. They might be too high on the sides. Which makes us come to the armhole:
I can see it cutting in and I know from experience that's not comfortable. You could either try to do this alteration: http://dressingcurves.blogspot.se/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.html
You can also be more lazy and just add an extra strap in the middle. It distributes the volume of the cups better than the straps at the sides.
I did this as an experiment on the Tease Me. It got pretty wild so I just show it to show how you could do http://sphotos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/602334_10151293677505540_683315385_n.jpg
Both the alterations allows the wires to slip back a little and then settle a tad bit lower so it takes away the pressure in the armpit.
I think you can try to just lift the top of the cups as if the straps was moved or you have added an extra strap and then you can see what happens with the gap on the top

Gervaise: It was rather on a whim and the bra is still way too small, but the cleavage I cannot complain about :D
Braboratory has a design with three straps connecting to one big strap on the shoulders. I do hope that bra will become a reality in the future :)

helpfulThe best fit I've seen. Can't see the back and side properly so can't make a better judgement. If there's excess breast tissue in your underarms and back, you might want to have a little space in your cups like you have now. By doing the swooping action everyday you will move all of that excess tissue back to your cups filling them.
Hope that helps. Once again, best fit I've seen. Breast is uplifted and high enough for a straight posture. Breast are close enough to prevent sag no matter what breast shape you are. Very good.

helpfulThe Fleurty might be a bad fit for you if it goes too far under the arms for your taste. The cups look alright, but if the underwires are uncomfortable in your armpits, I'd just avoid this bra altogether. Instead, I would go for a bra with slightly narrower underwires and deeper cups (though I can't think of any that I know for sure would flatter your shape at the moment).

I have two of them. One in a 30H and one in a 32GG...I've gained and lost about 30 lbs and those sizes
S cover that. In both bras, at both weights, there is just enough cup for good support and enough padding to show no nipple through shirts but all the decoration on the bra shows through sheer shirts, blah. The cups hit me, in both sizes and weights right at the nipple, after situating all the boob in the cup. So its the case of I love the bra and its really a little small in the cup for me. -
If you want to continue with that, then I would definitely size up. I recently received a Curvy Kate bra in 28HH and compared to the 28H of a similar design, it really shows how much of a better fit it is for me (based on the non-existent hazard of the perilous nip-slip in one and the self-consciousness that accompanies wearing the other).

@Jilsas: it's not underwire, it's a high-cut armhole. May be it will be better as the bra brakes in but I want to decide now should I keep it or return to store. I know that CK shape is not perfect for me but these bras are sooo comfy

helpfulDo you have pictures of the CK TeaseMe?
I think the 30HH is wearable if you are comfy in the bra. Or do the wires poke you? I too would recommend that you try a 30H.
If you quadboob out of the 30H Fleurty it will be proof that either
- you are truly between sizes or
- you need deeper cups or
- your boobs are too soft for halfcups. That boobs are too soft for halfcups happens quite often in larger sizes, which is why they are so rare above G. It is not as profitable as normal cups.To be honest, I liked the look of the 32G Tesco bra better on you.
The CK showgirl range is also quite shallow, I think you need deeper cups. Have you tried the recommendations from the previous fit request? How do they fit you?

Agreed with T Maia....
as the cup is bit bigger than ur actual side...
if your go in lower cup size then the under wires would be more narrow and dig in ur bust....you will become more underconfortable in under arms area....
so better go for a low cup in 32 band....
i found ur boobs exactly same like mine.....almost 95 % same... and i was looking for this bra also... please share ur new size experience also with me....
it will help me to choose right one for me :P -
hello t-maia) I don't have Tease me and here I compared my Thrill me and Fleurty (Bratabase used all the pics of Thrill me, mine one is in grape and jade) http://www.bratabase.com/compare/dhlg4/#review-317 I ordered this Fleurty online and cant' try it on in 30H (I'd love to buy some Cleos as you recomend but I'll wait till January - my order from Bratabase with Fleurty and Flirtelle's Audrey was despatched on November, 17 and I received it just on Monday. And the closer towinter holidays - the worse) I don't know if I'd better return this Fleurty and order it in 30H or keep it as is. I guess you are right and my breasts are too soft for this bra. Or may be it's the cup - from the side it looks not as a hemisphere, but like a vertical parabolic curve - or it has to be so for a halfcups? So it's shallow in the middle of the cup but goes deeper in the top part.
Tesco bra makes me look more compact but I can't resist CK showgirl, I love their very supportive band with 3 hooks and comfy smooth straps and these bras are really like a pillow for breasts, quoting Brasihate. I'll wait till my bigger days, during pms my breasts become fuller on top and may be I'll fill the cup -
@zonyahmad: I've compared Fleurty with Thrill me in 30H and the difference between the cup width is 1 cm so I think I'd be ok with wires in 30H Fleurty. But I'm afraid I'll overflow a smaller cup.
What do you mean telling your bobbs are the same, shape or size? I measure 78 and 99cm and have soft close-set full-on-top boobs (as it seems to me, I'v pretty new in all this). If I get Fleurty in 30H I'll share. Anyway it's measured here on bratabase

helpfulHave you swooped and scooped? It looks like it might help to lift your boobs further up into the cups, so that the underwire is sitting right in the crease between your breasts and your ribcage, and no part of your breasts folds down over your ribs.
From the second picture, it actually looks to me like the cups are too small for you- the gore doesn't look like it's resting on your sternum. But swooping and scooping might help!
If not, I'd agree with t_maia and Jillsas. It might just not be the right shape for you. Curvy Kate cups run very wide, from what I gather. I've only tried the Daily Boost on but it certainly seemed to be the case with that model too.
Have you tried Freya bras? They tend to have narrower wires and deeper cups. They might work for you!

yes, I tried to scoop. Too small - you mean too shallow? I think the gore doesn't seat flat cause I have close-set breasts, I don't know. I'm waiting one Freya from ebay, purchased at the end of October))) I've tried some Freyas on in a store but haven't got any yet

@Branarchist, what you did in the second pic is brilliant. Never thought of just adding another strap. This way the Tease Me looks so much better on you!. I know this was a suggestion for Sandrix, but it helped me a lot;)
