Bra fitting help » Band Fit and Wire Width

Issue resolved
The band fits ok.
I needed to adjust myself into the cup properly, shorten the straps and ensure that the underwire was sitting under my breasts properly.
The wires are too wide for me. I will bend them and seek out brands with wires that aren't so wide.
Original problem
Trying to determine if I'm on the right track or not.
A few questions:
Are the wires getting distorted due to a too tight band? They seems to be curving back a bit, but I'm wondering if that's because they're just too wide in general.
Is the band too tight? It feels supportive and I can fasten it easily, but one of the hooks is getting yanked out (plus the issue mentioned above).
Why do I often have empty space at the bottom of the cups? Is this a big problem?
The back bulges - fat or migrated breast tissue?

helpfulHi there
First of all, to answer your question - Jasmine has one of the toughest wires I've seen. The band doesn't look that strained that I would scream size up. Jasmine does have a fairly firm band, but it loosens up within two weeks. If it's comfortable, keep it.
As for the wire distortion, it's not that easy to distort them, I think it would be best if we ruled some other possible problems out first.I would like you to do some adjustmens while putting the bra on.
Number one would be scooping from the back - you have some fluff behind your armpit that I think you could bring to the cup. Here's how.
http://brasandbodyimage.wordpress.com/2012/09/05/putting-your-bra-on-properly/Secondly, I think you might be wearing the bra too low. Try to get the wires right below the crease and adjust the straps shorter!
http://blog.butterflycollection.ca/2012/11/are-you-wearing-your-bra-too-low.html?m=1I think shorter straps would provide a much better lift.
You can actually get the straps to be fully adjustable if needed - you pull the strap up to the unadjustable part with your fingers from the middle of that plastic slider.
When you scoop, swoop and adjust the straps, see what happens. If the wires are still seem too wide for you, and at the same time you don't get a quadboob, if the lace on top isn't stretched and it's just lying there on your boobs, you should go a cup size down.
I have this bra in 30j and 30jj and there isn't much difference between the sizes, I can go either way. The main difference is in the wire width and the amount of stretch in the lace. In a larger size i have more empty space at the sides and my boobs jiggle a bit more.
Anyway, you'll know after you adjust yourself and the straps if you need a size down or this is the size for you.
Bare in mind that this bra needs some breaking in time - after 3 days and possibly bending the wires, you will be in love with itUpdated on January 7, 2013 Flag this

I actually think the shape is a little off for you, but that's just my opinion. Sorry I didn't add much. Vee always has great suggestions!

Wow, that certainly changed a lot! Photos should be approved shorty.
Thanks for such a detailed answer, Vee :) (and also for your answer, MilkAndHoney) I finally know how to adjust myself into a bra properly!
The wires do still seem a little wide but I'm not really getting any quadboob. I'm still a bit paranoid that sizing down would cause quadboob, but let me know what you think when you see the photos.
I do like it a lot more already after having worn it a little. Initially the wires were poking me whenever I sat down, but I don't experience this anymore.
Definitely considering bending the wires.

You are right, I dont think sizing down is an option in this bra. The band is fine, but the wires are wider than ideal for you, you would need more narrow wires and more depth in the bra near the wires. Unfortately there are not too many options in your size that would fit better out there, so I would be keeping this bra and bending the wires if it was me (but hey, Ive got two of those :)) But I would definitely suggest you explore Bravissimos own brand - boudoir beu, linear rose and broderie should work better for you in this same size. The fleur you should try in a 34 band because it runs suppertight, JJ or K - it has the narrowest wires out there.
And of course, Ewa michalak is probably your best bet once you get the sizing down. Maybe raspberryleaf is willing to let her too small karmelki go, I actually think it could work for you :) (and taking it from her would save you a lot of nerves you'd loose custom ordering from ewa :)) -
Yeah, fair enough. The too wide wires/not enough depth is a problem I typically have with Panache. I will keep it and bend the wires.
Thanks for the information about Bravissimo's sizing. I've been meaning to place an order but wasn't sure which size to start with.
Yes, I must get around to trying EM soon! I suppose if I get one that doesn't fit there's always the option of selling it on here.
Thanks so much!
Such a gorgeous bra! :)
I agree with everything Vee said. If it turns out you are not wearing the bra too low, the empty space in the bottom of the cups is most likely due to wire tilt -- with wires this wide tilting is almost impossible to avoid. It can, however, be remedied by bending the wires to conform to the curve of your ribcage, as Vee also suggested. This should free up the space in the bottom of the cups that was lost due to the tilting wires and allow your breasts to settle into them better.
