Bra fitting help » Near perfect fit, I think. Nearly.
Ewa Michalak » Pl Black (64) » 75K 34:15
Issue resolved
Thanks so much everyone, I've now ordered a 70L (relatively one cup up) in exchange.
May be I actually need 70LL, but the 70L should be wearable either way so I should be alright
The 75K is now posted and on its way back to Poland... I can hardly wait until the 70L arrives.
Original problem
It's SOOOOO pretty!!! My first EM bra!!
Woohoo! Finally a bra that does not immediately quadboob on me!!
OK, so the band is too large. Fine, because I ordered this bra from the dropdown menu on purpose so I could exchange it for a non-returnable 70-band with correct cup.
This fit request is to ask suggestions for the proper cup to order, as there are some things not quite perfect. The center gore comes closer than any of my bras to my sternum, but still doesn't quite lay flat. It feels like the cups are just a tad too narrow, and I'm having armpit boob.
The band is not very supportive, which I attribute to it being too large for me. OH! And it's got 4 (!) rows of eyes on the 3-hook band! An extra row is certainly nice and I hope the 70 bands have this too.
The cups are a few cm deeper than my 32K CurvyKates that quadboob on me. But the cups are also narrower, which aligns with my feeling of the cups being just a tad too narrow on me.This is my second ever padded bra (first one was early in my teens and horrible!), and I'm loving it already. So soft! And no nipple-poking, whoo! The lace is super pretty, the combo of black lace on beige base is very very nice.
What I like very very much is that this bra will force me to walk properly upright and not slouch forward - for when I do, there's gaping at the top of the cups!! Gaping! Never ever had that before! All in all, I think I may need one cup size up from this one for it to fit properly. The extra depth should be enough to allow the center gore to lay snug against my sternum (finally) and end up without gaping at the top. That would mean 75K=70L, one size up would be 70LL. No wait it was 75K=70KK, one up is 70L...
What do you gals think?

helpfulWow )) Just Wow )))
I LOVE this on you ))Now a cup up from 75K is actually 75KK - and a band size down leaves you at 70L. This should be your size if you want to try one cup up.
70LL would be two cups up.I do think you could go either way and not be wrong, because the ewas are somehow wearable even if they are 3 cupsize too small or 2 cupsizes too big
In bigger size you'll get wider wires to acomodate your tissue from the sides and with some strap tightening I think you could do just fine even in 70LL.Have I mentioned I am thrilled for you?? ))
I have a question though (I'm waiting for my special order 65K pl karmelki and I have some concerns)- do you feel this bra adds size to your boobs? And how does it look under clothes? Do the seams show?
You can message JJ to flip the photos for you.

Ohmy agreed. I was so eager to see I downloaded the pics so that I could flip them over XD
Apart from that I just agree with Vee :)

I'm back! LOL. OK, so I don't really think my boobs look bigger in this bra. They do get less coverage than what I'm used to in my fullcups, duh. And that may be why boyfriend is thinking they look bigger. They get to jiggle around more, too ;) They do look a helluvalot more awesome, though!!
I put on a tight white shirt over the bra - the black lace is very visible, and the seams are visible too but not more than the lace. Under my Vanity Fair white... well I have the feeling they are taking up slightly more room in the bust, but the shirt is a bit stretchy so I'm not really sure. Not much difference, then.
Thanks Branarchist! I love how you couldn't wait to see them so you downloaded ;) Hope JJ sees my message soon and flips them for me. So strange, I didn't notice it when I uploaded them but they must've been upside down then. Weird, they are fine on my computer... could be auto-rotate from possible-upside-down camera though, I guess.
I need to find the discussion about EM sister sizes and link it here. *edit* got it. http://www.bratabase.com/profile/4he/adventures/354/#adventure-comment-3000
Whoops I totally screwed the sister sizing up again in my mind. Hope Nesoa gets online soon and adds her opinion! -
JJ flipped the photos, so now everyone can admire the beautiful PL Black (and me :P) without downloading and/or craning their necks!
-
Thanks for flipping... i waS turning my laptop up side down to check it.... but this is far better than this..
I have to say.... this bra is looking soooooo perfect one u... i cant stop my self to say " this bra is made for you ..... "
its fitting is so good. now you are making me fan of E M.... i am going to order this very sooonn.... -
Vee said everything I was thinking about the fit. I just wanted to comment and say that you look absolutely luvverly in this bra. So pretty! I can't wait till I have the means to get myself some EM bras- they look so luxurious :)
-
petalmoon: I was curious :D I think your boobs look bigger in this bra because they have more projection! That's usually what we see as big. Curvy Kate doesn't allow for as much projection as EM PL :)
I am a fan of boob jiggle! I love when my boobs jiggle on the top. Again, that sensuality I was talking about yesterday :) But boob top jiggle goes so very well together with my regency cleavage preference as well :D
-
I love that you all love it ;)
Thinking I'll go for the 70L indeed in exchange, and see if I have the money to get the 70KK via Facebook if it's not sold in the meantime for a neat price.
I am in love with this bra... I keep finding excuses to try it on one more time ;)
Branarchist I think you are right though, more projection, my boobs get the space they need in this bra and that makes them visually bigger. Yay for jiggle! Jiggle means they have (near) enough space and are able to jiggle and not stuffed in a much too small bra! I love a little cleavage... I'm very curious to see how the exchanged PL black will be with my wardrobe... *drool*
Already looking forward to it! -
I'm happy for you :)
-
I had a wonderful conversation with EM yesterday and got everything figured out for my exchange - will be visiting the post office today.
And regarding visual size differences; I've photoshopped the 45degree angle pics of the PL black and the Elomi Caitlyn side by side and made a comparison. Here it is: http://www.bratabase.com/compare/dhli6/ There's obvious difference, most of which I think is because the PL gives MUCH more lift.
-
Yes exactly! That's the typical fault of most plus size bras imo. They are made to sit so low. While they give a lot of support they give a worse posture. An ideal bra would combine it.
-
Precisely! Why shouldn't we plus-busted women not get the same lift? Don't we deserve proper posture? ;)
-
Well plus size clothing has at least in the past been about hiding the body so I guess it will take a while until the plus size bra industry gets this as well.
-
Very true. Well, at least it seems like Ewa Michalak has gotten the memo, so we're not completely out of options! :D

helpfulI would say that you probably need to go up atleast two cup sizes to get a really good fit. Ewa has quite heavy duty wires in these sizes so if there is any chance they can lie flat they will. If it was just one cup size too small you would probably only have some slight quadraboobing going on if you tighten the straps a bit more, and as you're having gore problem I would say atleast two cup sizes.
What has been said before though, which I do agree with is that Ewa michalak bras can be worn quite decently even when they are too small... So, you can probably just go up one cup size and still have a wearable bra. Another size up would give you a whole lot more lift though.
A cup size up from the 75K would give you a 75KK, which is equal to a 70L, you go up one cup size when you go down one band size. Nothing else. I don't know what this misunderstanding which suddenly is quite widespread (not accusing you, you are definitly not the only one) but there is no such thing as half cup sizes and to get the sister size you "walk the diagonal", so 70L, 60LL, 55N as well as 80JJ, 85J and 90HH are the sister sizes of a 75K.
Anyway, the 70L will probably be wearable, and it will hopefully contain your breasts. However, if you tighten the straps you will probably still have quadraboobing going on, and still be at risk of falling out in the middle. Especially as the tighter band will make the cups even shallower.
A 70LL will give you a whole lot more lift and not only contain your boobs but lift and support them. Now, Ewas does look good anyway, and the high breast point compared to other brands make them look lifted even when they are not but you haven't truly experienced Ewa Michalak bras until you wear one in your proper size.

Thanks so much! As I've already ordered the 70L one I will wait and see how that one fits before ordering a 70LL. Your theory sounds very logical though, you could certainly be right.
Yes, the double letters can be confusing, especially for me when bust measurements are added that align every other cup instead of the normal diagonal... lol.
-
I think I've said this somewhere else before, but I think I'd better repeat it just because it seems to be needed in general. :)
If a 70L and a 75K has the same bust measurement in the table then the 70L must have bigger cups. This is because thge 70L has a smaller ribcage, so to fill out the bust measurement the breasts must be larger. :)
I'll keep my fingers crossed that the 70L works for you. :)
-
Yea, I think you explained it to me earlier, lol.
-
Nesoa I think this is that English site/Polish site show different charts thing again
@Petalmoon If you've been looking at the English version of the EM site, look at the chart as it is here http://www.ewa-michalak.pl/Kalkulator-chelp-pol-10.html (Why it's a different chart, I have no idea, but it is very different, and in my opinion, much less confusing.)
-
WTF that's a totally different chart!! Makes MUCH more sense!!
-
I know, right? So weird! when I first realized there were two different charts I was just kinda like O.o "huhwhat? Ooooohhhhh, that's why we seem to be talking about different things!!!"
Why they don't just put the same chart on both pages I have no idea!
-
I adore it too!!!! I wish I could keep it, but I know that the band is bad for me and I really need to exchange it for a 70 band so that's what I'll be doing. I mostly need to figure out which cup to exchange it to!
(already messaged JJ for photo flipping)
I thought this 75K was the sister size of 70L, they would be identical except for band length. That's why I ordered this one from the dropdown, because I thought I needed either 70L or 70KK. So if these cups were good, I'd exchange for 70L, if too big, 70KK. But now they're too small (narrow!).
The whole cup system is weird...
*edit* OK my head messed it all up. Sister size of 75K is indeed 70KK. So I'm thinking I need to order 70L to get the extra cup size and width...
I'm super thrilled with it anyway!! My boyfriend does think it's a push-up bra, and it may look like one indeed. But that's at least partly because I've never had proper lift from any of my bras in years, so any proper lift looks like push-up!
Oh I haven't even worn any clothing over it because I was too busy measuring and uploading here, be right back with that in a new comment in a few minutes. I will analyze my boob-size a bit more, too. Hmmm maybe I'll put on my Vanity Fair button-up over it to see how it compares to my boobs in 32K CurvyKates.... be right back!
