Bra fitting help » Should I abandon the Panache Ariza or try another size?
Panache » Ariza Balconnet Bra (5051) » 38J 38:13
Issue resolved
Selling this bra.
Original problem
First, the cups are too big. They are folding over at the bottom and there is extra fabric at the top. The band is quite tight. I doubt I would be comfortable wearing it all day.
The wires are CRAZY high on the sides and feel too far back (because of the too large cups, I'm thinking). The wires in the middle won't stay even, they either have to be one or the other in front. I tried to get a picture to demonstrate that. Is that because the cups are too big?
I feel like I'm just throwing darts at random bras and hoping one fits nicely. I have a few on order and will post those when they arrive (Panache and Fantasie). Hopefully one will be a keeper.

helpfulRemember what I wrote under the Elomi Hermione? You have lots of projection, thus you need deep (and narrow) cups.
Panache bras are wide and shallow. Give up on them, they won't work - ever. The potential exceptions are the Panache Jasmine and the Panache Andorra Fullcup as well as the Cleo Alexa. Jasmine and Andorra maybe bc they are relatively new and improved models with narrower and shorter wires. Cleo Alexa bc Cleo has narrower wires in general than Panache Superbra and Alexa is the deepest Cleo bra in years.
So try Fantasie, try Freya, try Bravissimo, try Krisline and try Gorgeous by Debenhams. But give up on Panache.

There was a comment I read that said Fantasie and Freya wires were not supportive enough for larger cup sizes. Do you disagree with that? That made me hesitant to try them.

Yes, it is a problem that Fantasie and Freya have too soft wires for 38J. You can expect some fitting issues from it. But since the shape of the deeper cup fits you better, it might be ok.
I have high hopes for the Fantasie Kara, this bra has really stable wires that will support you properly. Bravissimo, Gorgeous by Debenhams and Krisline are also good.

I can only agree with t_maia here. Honestly, even in a 28HH/J (which I wear) the wires are not strong enough so I doubt they would work on you. I haven't seen anyone in Freya bra in your size with wires lying flat sadly. It is sad, because the projection, lift and shape is really good and all they would need to do more or less is to change the wires (which can't be that hard honestly). You might still like it though, I know some people use Freya bras as sleeping bras ( if you sleep in underwires) and for that softer underwires might actually be more comfortable. The other brands mentioned have a whole other sort o wires, just like t_maia said. :)

Yup, the best thing you can use the Ariza for is as a donor bra for its underwires. Get it used cheap on ebay in a too small size and then slaughter it for its underwires and replace Freyas shoddy wires with it.

helpfulI despise the Ariza for all of the reasons you mentioned; I had almost identical problems when I reviewed it on my blog:
http://fussybusty.com/2012/09/12/plus-size-bra-review-panache-ariza/
I tried this bra in three different sizes, and only in the too small size (for me, a 40J) the wires did not poke...but then I had quadboob. I also could not get the wires to lay flat together on my sternum. They were always twisting.
It's such a gorgeous thing - and I'm biased in saying this - but I would just abandon trying to get the Ariza to work for you. The Ariza, Sienna and Tango II have painfully high wires on the side. The Andorra or the Jasmine have lower side wires.
**Edit**
Also, as I wear a 38J in the Tango II, and your measurements are smaller than mine (4" - circumference and 2"- nip 2 neck), I would say that this Ariza is definitely 1-2 cup sizes too big for you. For what it's worth.Updated on December 28, 2012 Flag this

Oh no, the tango ii, too? I ordered one and have been really excited about trying it. The pictures on the models are so deceiving. ;-/

Glad I'm not the only ariza hater here - although Bumblebean looks spectacular in it so she almost changed my mind about this one.
Anyway, I second everything greenpianokeys said and just wanted to add that I hope you'll be keeping the 38j andorra because I do think you could make that work. If you ordered Jasmine, you should know that one needs some breaking in time - a week or so, but bare with it, It's definitly worth it.
Now, if you want lower wires on the side you should look to some bravissimo's offerings like boudoir beau, fleur, linear rose or dotty (the last one is ridiculously pointy, but there are those who don't really mind it).
All of those will have narrower and shorter wires and are very supportive in larger cupsizes.

I do remember that. So much different advice, I think I was a but confused when I ordered this one. I do have Kara, Belle, Lily, and Jasmine ordered, so I'll see if any of those work.
