Trying a different bra.
Original problem
Update: 2 new pictures added. The more I look at this bra, the more different things I see. I think the band is too loose. It's on the tightest hook in the side view picture and feels pretty secure, but I can pull it away from the body several inches. But, even though it feels too loose, the bottom elastic curls. ??? There is also empty fabric in the cups, but I can't pull it up any higher to get the wire to the crease. It's worse on the left than right, but maybe my breast creases are uneven.
Original post:
This is the most painful bra I have ever worn. I wore it for a few hours because I wore it out of the house and couldn't wait to take it off when I got home.
Wires poke under arms. Feels like they are too far back. If I bend over and reach for something, it feels like the muscle - or more likely fat over the muscle is pushing against the wire. I think it's the latissimus dorsi muscle there, so you know where I'm talking about.
Also, the wires do not sit on the sternum, I still get a little quad boob effect, and the wires in front seem to slide down lower than the bottom breast crease and dig into my rib area.
All I can say is this bra HURTS! Any suggestions for where to go from here?

helpfulCould you take a picture with the arms drawn back so the wire is visible? Either you're very short in the bust area or the wires should poke because of being too low rather than too high I would think. When my bras reaches beyond the shoulder blades it becomes painful on me as well. They do reach there because my root is that far back. So what I normally do is stop scooping when I reach the shoulder blades.
But yes; when wires pokes the lats it's extremely painful. I agree. I was going to suggest the Jasmine instead but I'm a little bit hesitating to do that if these wires are actually too high for you. Because Andorra is like the lowest bra in the armpit area. It sounds more like a too small bra combined with a super wide root and migrated breast tissue. I think it sounds like you've got the same kind of boobs as me an t_maia so I hope she digs in.
Because I'm lost here. It sounds like this bra is acting like my 34J Andorra once did. Apart from the center gore not laying flat.
http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/dhiqe/ If you read what MilkAndHoney wrote there I think it might apply as well.
Or the bra might simply be too shallow on the bottom for your full on bottom boobs so the shape gets off all together and the wires actually gets too wide.

Thanks! Now I completely agree with Vee; Jasmine instead :)

Some more thoughts; It would be strange if you had orange in a glass on the front while at the same time the wires would be too wide on the sides. So it should rather be that the cups are too shallow in the bottom which makes your boobs push the wires down. So yes again; Jasmine. The wires will end up narrower on you since the cups has a bigger bottom section which allows your boobs more depth there so that they will be more projected and hence force the wires ends up further too the front. Sort of :)

Okay, I'll try the Jasmine.

Jasmine worked! Review forthcoming. Thank you!

Oh I'm so happy for you! <3

helpfulI still think you need deeper cups. Andorra and Panache in general is too shallow for you. Your nipples sit up too high, indicating that you need more space in the bottom cup.
Elomi might be a good brand for you. Have you tried the Hermione in 38HH? Sadly they don't make this bra in 38J. Elomi Caithlyn/Libby or maybe the new Rita that is coming out in February might be good for you.
I would also recommend Fantasie and Gorgeous by Debenhams to you again.
Regarding the empty space near the wires: hold the left wire with the left hand. Lift up your left boob with the right hand and place it into the cup. Scoop the tissue from the side into the cup. Still hold the wire with the left hand. Place your right hand on the lace of the cup, thumb inside the cup and fingers outside. Crumble the cup together until you are at the wire with the thumb. Now pull the fabric in a round motion around your boob. Do the same thing on the other side.

helpfulOh wow, this looks lovely on you
Now as for the issues... So you are deffinitley in the right size here, just a wires are too wide.
The poaking might sort itself out - this may just be the case of needing some time to break the bra in. I think after a while you and andorra will be fineThere are a couple of things you could try to make it better

I actually do this while wearing a bra so I can asess fit right from the spot. You just find a spot where it's uncomfortable and bend it with your fingers outward or inward - whatever you need. For instance, I sometimes bend the gore inwards it it's floating around a bit so it sits flush against sternum. Some gores that poke I bend outwads so they don't. I also curve the wires at the bottom so they fir my ribcage. Now, you can also make wires a bit narrower by bending them. You will have to take the bra off for that. You just push the sides of the sires together - this works only after you bended the bottom to fit your ribcage.
This way you get less empty space at the sides and more room in the cup.
However. This only works if the band is not too tight so it can't distort the wires. This could be your issue though. How's the band on this one? Is it possible thr ban is pulling the wires flat? if so, you mught want to try this in bandsize up.
After seing this, I think jasmine would work for you even better. Just note that it has a firmer band and runs a cupsize deeperthan the andorra. But you'll be pleased with wires that are shorter and more narrowUpdated on December 24, 2012 Flag this

The band fits fine on the Andorra. Should I then try a Jasmine in 38HH since the cups are deeper?
-
From the new pictures you added it actually looks like it's riding up? :scratcheshead:
The back of the bra should be the same level as the front - if it's not the band might actually be too big. Or your boobs are too heavy for this bra so with shortened straps they pull the cups down/the band up?
Can you straighten the bra? Does it stay the same level when you do?
Anyway, yes - there is not enough quadboob here to justify staying in the same cup for the Jasmine. 38HH is your best bet. -
Jasmine worked! I ordered a 36J and I think the fit is very good, though there are some spots causing discomfort. I think after washing it might work out. Review or fit request forthcoming. Since the Jasmine fit in a 36J, would you recommend trying Andorra again? Jasmine only comes in black... can't wear that under everything! I was thinking 36J or 36JJ. Thank you!

The link talking about the breasts sloping down into the cups really seems to be what I'm dealing with and have dealt with in the past with other bras. However, one bra that seemed to fit well and give lots of lift before I had kids was Fantasie 4510. Looking at the pictures, the band is about even with the cups, which doesn't fit the theory.
