Issue resolved
I agree it's a bit small on me. Next time I'm gonna try 28GG/30G and see what happens. In the meantime, I can live with this.
Original problem
It's me again
I bought this bra from a user in this site, demeter (thanks, darling!). This is my first Cleo bra. From the reviews I've read, I took notes that I have to buy one cup up since it runs small. At the time, I thought my size is 28F, so I thought this 28FF would fit nicely on me.
After receiving it and trying it on, swooping and scooping and all that jazz, I think the cup is small on me. I have quadboobs and armpit fat going on. I, however, altered the centre gore to minimise the quadboobing, and it helped somewhat. The shape it gives under clothes also is not something that I have hoped for (maybe it's because it's not in the right size?). The band is also very tight! (Unstretched: 21.5", stretched: 26"-26.5")
Question is: Does Lucy's design suit my boobs? The next time I'm buying it, should I get 28G/28GG/30G?
ETA: After using the extender, the armpit fat problem lessens considerably. There's still quadboob though.

helpfulThis is a two cup up issue, so you can go for 28gg and hope that extra wire width will account for the band feeling looser. Or you could go for 1 bandsize up AND one cup up. So 30G I think should do the trick. I actually think this cut suits your shape quite well. The shape should get better in biger size. I do think you are a cleo girl. You might want to look into their fullband cuts, they have wires that are closer together, so you won't be needing to pinch the gores so much

I still think she sometimes chooses a bra too small, but hey, whatever makes feel comfortable :)
Look at this

The good thing about playing with cleo lucy is that you will know where you stand compaired to this blogger. So when you get the size right, you can just copy what works for brasIhate and just get it in your size. I actually think you are 2 cups down from her. She is currently wearing 30H/HH -
Vee: I'm having a loooong post up about lacking lower breast tissue. I've done a lot of studies over the holidays. It might give some answers :)

I think I'm gonna get 30G and see what happens.
Ahh now I know I have boobs high on chest and full on top (never really got to figure that one out!). Vee, who's the one chooses a bra too small? BrasIHate or me? If you're referring to me, well, in my defense, I'm just starting out in this bra journey! Hahahhaa.
So two cups down means 30G/28FF, yes?

Bras I Hate :) But in her defense, a lot of bras tend to look too small on full on tops :) 30g/gg or 28gg/h. Incleo you will probably need the smaller of the two sizes. In bravissimo, freya and panache (except jasmine) probably a larger size. I think you would look great in andorra actually :)

helpfulWant to give my opinion.
- Bra cups are too small since you need to be able to move your breast tissue from your underarms, your upper back, and lower back to the front of your breast.
- By wearing a full cup, you are pushing down on your breast, over time, your breast will gradually get smaller and move to locations such as upper arms, back, etc.
- The back band is too thin and can not provide enough support. Breast have weight in them, and if the shoulder straps take most burden of the weight, you will feel shoulder pains later on and slanted shoulders. You will start noticing it when your should straps slip off.
- The bra cup's side wall is not high enough, so the tissue close to your underarms won't be able to move back and STAY in place.
- Even if you get a better sized bra in this style, do not wear it every day since you need something that is better supported.

I don't know if you had any experience with cleo bras - they all have only 2 hooks, end even though a lot of us would feel more comfortable in 3 hooks, somehow they don't compromise on support. Lucy is one of the bras in my weekly rotation and I have by far bigger and heavier boobs than devilangel.
Bigger cups will provide more coverage on the sides.I am also suprised by your thoughts on fullcups, where did you hear that?
What you described happens with any bra that is too small.
Maybe we are not using the same terminology - are you aware that this bra is not a fullcup, it's a balcony cut? -
breast that are this firm should have more of a open top for the cups. Sorry if I mistaken the terminology, english is not the first language. Since I have noticed all the members on this site like to have cups that are just right and don't leave a little room for the breast to fluctuate in size and the mistraveled breast tissue in the back, underarms etc. Cups that are not open top tend to push down more.
Can you see her upper back is a lot wider than her overall back? It's the sign of an imbalanced bra front to back. Maybe you will feel that the back provides support since the sag and dropping of the breasts happens slowly over time.
Everything is just personal experience over 30 years in the industry. I do not mean to offend anyone here.

So maybe it's a language thing then :)
We seem to agree that devilangel will rock halfcups, this is why Branarchist listed some nice styles. However, that doesn't mean forgetting about bras with more coverage.
Now, I get what you are saying but I have experience with this particular bra :) And it does allow volume on top - in the right size. In fact, all cleo bras are cut to allow volume on top even though they provide a bit more coverage. this is why they some women have issues with them - they find top part of the cup "baggy" and they can't fill it. So a cleo bra is more likely to flap around in the wind than "push the boob down". Freya does that, curvy kate does that, bravissimo does that, almost everyone but not cleo.
Now, on the band thing we are again on the same page. I loke 3-4 hook band. I like high side wings and full band at the front. But even though Cleo's don't fit that description - they work. My own boobs proved it - I've had been wearing nothing but cleos for like 8 months, my boobs actualy got firmer and my nipple to neck has moved 1.5 cm up in that time - so no, I wasn't saging more, just the opposite :)
I'm not sure I understood that comment on upper back vs overall back? Are we talking about her back or the bra band?As for the monthly fluctuation, many of us here have a few sizes in our drawers so we are able to cater to changes in size.
Besides that, even more of us are crazy about bras that are made from stretch lace - that way you get a bra that fits just right even though the size changes a bit :)
Where are you from if you don't mind me asking? :) -
If I am Harry Potter, I will make all DD+ bras in 3 or more hooks. (I currently own a 34C bra with 5 hooks! Why can't the companies make more hooks in bigger cup bras.)
Vee, I think braologie meant my upper back being wider than my back below the bra band?
-
I agree with Vee. And now you're starting to look more and more like me :D Which basically means high on chest and full on top, that has migrated the upper tissue away under the armpit. So that when you regain it you will become even more full on top. Depending on if the cups will be able to hold your tissue or not. You are indeed looking like BrasIHate, just a little smaller :)
