Bra fitting help » Is there a way to fix the shape of this?

Issue resolved
Discussed Freya - I'm going to try he more style or so, but mostly stick to other brands that work better with my shape.
Original problem
This bra isn't an ideal fit, but it's pretty and comfortable, so I'd like to make it work. Unfortunately, it looks terrible from the side. I also get some wrinkling in the cap on the side, but if I pull the cup inwards, I have plenty of tissue to fill it. Also, the center gore is slightly pushed away from me, but I think a size up would be too big. Give up? Or is there some fix?

helpfulThe problem I see here is that the cups are too wide for you. Theoretically the volume of the cup is right, in practice it is not where you need it. The wires are too wide for you, so you cannot use the volume there. At the same time the cup is too closed for you, you have more volume in the upper area than this bra allows.
If you are desperate to own a Freya Naomi, you could trying going up in cupsize to a 30K in this bra.
That said, I think you might be much better off in the PourMoi? St.Tropez in 30J or 32J or the Panache Jasmine in 30JJ. Fantasie Fullcups (especially Kara) might also be worth a shot.
I also really liked the Krisline on you, this brand and Ewa Michalak suit your shape much better than Freya.
Finally, I can highly recommend the Gorgeous by Debenhams embroidered mesh full cup bra (Item No. 1500102043), available from Debenhams.com. Debenhams has narrow wires, but unlike Freya it doesn't give the typical pointy Freya shape. The cups allow more volume on top, the band runs tight and the wires are far more stable than Freya. Sadly you'd need to get in your sistersize 32J, but it could be tight enough.

You are definitly deep and in need of narrow wires. What narrow root is is well, debatable. In relation to your depth your root is definitly narrow, in relation to the height of the base of your breasts, I'm not so sure. Anyway, the main point is, you are definitly in need of narrow wires and deep cups with narrow center gores and the volume in the front.
I personally don't think you'd be able to get into the 30K, you have massive quadraboob and that is with using volume in the front that you "shouldn't be using", which means that there is a lot of breast tissue that needs to be contained that isn't. This bra is gorgeous, but honestly, stay away from Freya! Even if you could find a bra that would fit, they are not very good in your size.
Freya keeps getting mentioned as having narrow wires, however in the larger cup sizes I don't find them especially more narrow than the average bra, or, even something like Curvy Kate, romoured to have wide wires, if you match cup depth and wire width. The other bras your planning to try sounds much better. :)

Oh wow, you have just discouraged me from revisiting freya myself :) t_maia and nesoa said it all.
The reason I was keen on giving it another chance is this
http://www.curvywordy.com/2012/05/freya-lacey-bra.html?m=1Lacey worked rather well for CW and bras that work for her always work for me to - so maybe lacey might be worth a shot after all. In 30K for you and 30jj for me. That way you could asess your size/shape next to curvy wordy which would make it easier to nail down your Ewa size before putting in a special order :) Because Ewa ImHO is your best bet.

I do really like that Lacey bra, Vee. Soooo tempted.... And it sure would help to assess my size and shape so directly with CW's, because MAN OH MAN do I want those Ewa bras. I was swayed away, but now I find myself swaying back. Are you going to order one? We could make it a duo-bra-adventure!
And yes, t-maia and Nesoa did totally say it all. SOOO helpful. If discouraging, heh. :)

I do second the recommendation for the St. Tropez by Pour Moi. I got mine of Figleaves for cheapz, and it has a much rounder shape in comparison to my Freya bras- less depth and more room at the top of the cup, which is what it looks like you need here. I think a 30HH or J would probably fit you well. (I have a 30H, for reference.)

How are the wires on that one?
-
Hmmm. They're a little bit wider than my Freya Teagan in the same size, but since the cups are rounder and have less depth, they sort of feel narrower. You can see where the wires hit me in the pictures here: http://www.bratabase.com/browse/pour-moi/st-tropez-full-cup-pm-7702/30H/?system=UK (I'm really happy with it because that's exactly where my breast tissue ends.) Despite being slightly narrower, the Teagan's underwires go a little bit further back under my armpit.

helpfulGoing to ditto all that t_maia has said. This bra does not fit with your breast shape at all. You could go up a cup size, which would take care of the spillage, but would leave you with more wrinkles and an empty cup on the bottom.

helpfulThis is coming from a huge Freya fan, so take my advice with a grain of salt
In the pictures, it looks like you're having the same problems I have with bras when I'm wearing a band that's too big and a cup that's too small. Unfortunately Freya doesn't make 28K's so you can't exactly try it out :/ But try pinning your band tighter and see if it feels more comfortable. You could also pinch the triangle area below the gore and see if it helps to have the cups closer together.
I wouldn't give up on Freya if I were you- even if it is a problem with the shape of this bra instead of the size, not all their bras are uniform in pattern or size (just like with all bra companies. Sigh.) It might help you to take a look at my profile and compare the Freya Teagan or Ellie with the Luisa, to see the difference. The thing is, once you find a good fit they're SO comfy and look SO good, it's worth the trouble

Thank you so much for the comment! Definitely interesting. I will take a look for sure. I know there is one that Curvy Wordy likes, too, which is encouraging. I just HATE not being able to try things on! But we all know what that feels like, heh. Thanks again!

I know the feeling! :/ It's a pain to have to order everything online. Bratabase has been a real lifesaver for me because I can get an idea of the measurements and shape of a bra before laying down the ridiculous amount of money for it (and the listings occasionally yield gold.) Good luck finding a good fit! :D

Thank you. I definitely, definitely prefer the Kris Line and Ewa shapes, they're just so much harder to come by. Especially Kris Line - their larger sizes don't seem to exist anywhere anymore! I'm really frustrated, because they were my favorite a few cup sizes ago. As for the Naomi, I got this one on Ebay cheap just to see what Freya would be like, and I think you're totally right. Not at all desperate to own one - I should probably just sell it on here. And stay away from other Freyas, too, right? They're similar in shape? I did get a Jasmine in 30JJ (pictures taken, review forthcoming) which I like pretty well and which has a much better shape for me, although I will need to take the back in a bit and had to wrestle to get the strap extenders past the elastic part (I have ridiculously small shoulders).
You are totally right about the wires being too wide - that seems to be a problem for me with a lot of bras. Does that mean I have a narrow root? I am still learning all the terminology and everything, and I am hoping to really get it down so I can start helping other girls of my shape.
I've copied down all your advice into a file on my computer so I can hunt down all the bras you suggested. I also have some Ewas on the way that were on clearance in 28K to see if I can try to figure out my size from her. I'm really hoping they will work, as I'm crazy about her bras AND would be happy not to have to take in the backs (which I'm doing on all my 30s, urgh).
Thanks again, super helpful advice!
