Bra fitting help » Orange in a glass - try a larger cup size?

Issue resolved
Solved the slipping problem by tightening the straps just a bit. Band has loosened a tad (could be PMS being over with water weight loss, or slight stretching out/washing out starch). I may still try an extender. Also sewed up front elastic so it doesn't curl under. Wires seem to need more padding now, so will have to work on that either with bra liner or sewing on extra wire casing over current casing.
Original problem
This is the best fitting bra I have found so far. The spot where the seams come together hits right at the nipple (which I think is good???) and everything fits great... until I start moving around. The band is plenty tight. Bordering on uncomfortable. But, it still slides down and I end up with empty cup at the bottom and the wires an inch below the breast crease, hiking it up every hour or 2 because it's uncomfortable.
Of note, I took pictures with no bra on and bending over so I could see the actual shape of my breasts when unrestricted. Ugh. But, I realized one is bigger than the other. And all these years I've been thinking I was quite symmetrical! I corrected my measurements using the right breast. It's about 1 inch bigger in perimeter than the left.
Do you think trying a 36JJ would be good, or should I try a 38J? In the Andorra, the 36 band was tight like the Jasmine, but 38 was too loose even on the tightest setting. That is why I ordered the 36 with Jasmine.

helpfulI had the same issue and was reminded to bend the wires to curve a little (mimicking the curve of your ribs)
http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/dhmw3/#suggestion-866
I see no quad-boobing so the size appears to work for you--just not the wires so much. Nothing wrong with making the bra adapt a little to fit you
I have this issue with Chantelle, and my Cleo. Haven't tried the Jasmine. Honestly? I'm happiest in my Fantasies, if only the straps weren't so wide-set.

As RG mentioned it's probably to do with the wires. I use the term 'wire tilt' to describe this issue. What happens, in short, is that the wires don't bend to follow the curve of your ribcage, but instead tilt slightly. The tilting 'swallows up' depth in the bottom of the cup. Bending them to follow the curve of your ribcage usually improves things.

I did bend them and it improved the center gore. I had a small bruise from where the wire had poked my breast. Bending them in has corrected that, but the cups are still slipping down. I did bend them to fit around the rib cage as well, but it hasn't helped much. I will bend around the rib cage a little more and see if it helps. Also, I'm not sure if it's the washing or bending or wearing, but the elastic rolling under in front is not hurting today. I tried bending it OUT and letting it dry that way, but once it's on for a few minutes, it rolls right under, but at least it's not painful now.

helpfulI own this bra in 30j and 30jj. I have the same issues you mentioned in the 30j when I'm pmsing, so I move on up to 30jj.
I don't think you should up your bandsize, it does loosen up in a week or so. If it feels too tight, an extender is much better solution.
Bending the wires is really important in this bra because otherwise these wires have a mind of their own. The reason you quadboob is because the bra slips down, and in this bra usually the problem realy is the wire tilt.
So yes, bending wires on this can be hard, but you have to use some force, don't worry, you won't break them. The gore on my 30j looked the same, but I bent the gore inward a bit too so it tacked the sternum. You could try 36jj and it probably would work - you would get more coverage, the side will get higher, the gore will sit flush. However, you might find the wires in a larger size too wide and/or too high and poking the armpit. You will also have to bend them! And even though you will get more coverage, you will jiggle more and get more projection and a bit less uplift if you don't tighten the straps more.
I'd say keep this one and get one in a larger size too. But hey, that's what I didAnyway, as for the band curling up under wires you mentioned in your review, you can force it outwards with your hands. It won't stay that way at first, but after you do it for like 3-4 times, it will remain permanent.
Or you can sew it up like bras i hate did here
http://brasihate.blogspot.com/2012/03/adventures-in-showgirl-curvy-kates.html?m=0Or you could use those bra liners that raspberryleaf is the ambassador of

Sewing it up is a great suggestion. I've been trying to bend it upward and it will stay for a little bit, but when the cups start sliding down, it curls in again. Is there a good site with instructions and PICTURES on how to bend the wires. I'm just not getting it. I bend, but they don't seem to change at all. The side of the wires don't seem bad, but I particularly don't understand bending the center gore wires. Do you bend them inward halfway up the straight part or in the curve somewhere?

This is the best only guide I know
http://brasihate.blogspot.com/2012/01/what-to-do-with-those-pesky-wide.html?m=1I actually bend the wires while wearing a bra. That's the best way for me to detect where they need bending. You stand straight and feel where the wires are the most painful and that's where you bend. Imagine yourself taking a stick with two hands and trying to break it - that's how you bend the wires :). Except you put your finger below the spot you want them to bend, and then- just like a stick, try to break them.
You are probably just not using enough force. The same thing I do to the gore - i bend it half way from the bottom to the top. Put my thumb below the spot I want them to bend and then pull it inward.
The wires can be bent back so don't worry, put some elbow in it :) -
I did bend them and it improved the center gore, though they are still not touching. I actually had a little bruise from where the wire had poked my breast. Bending them in has corrected that, I think, because I haven't felt a poke at all today, but the cups are still slipping down. I did bend the wires around the rib cage, but it hasn't helped much, if at all. I will bend them a little more. Also, I'm not sure if it's the washing or bending or wearing, but the elastic rolling under in front is not hurting today. I tried rolling it out and letting it dry that way, but once it's on for a few minutes, it rolls right under again. At least it's not painful now, maybe because the starch is finally out of it.

Oh, and I'm not sure where to post this, but I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on whether to try Ewa Michalak bras and if so, what size and style. Is there somewhere to post that? 36J seems to be the right size for me in Panache, but I'm not sure where to start with EWs.

I told you, you and jasmine will be very good friends after a week or so :)
Now, if the bra is still sliding down might be orange in the glass effect and/or cups not having enough depth near the wires.
The latter would be solved in ewas pl style, but if the wires are just too narrow, that problem might get worse with ewa's narrow wires. However I do think it's worth a shot.
So you should go with ewa's pl, choose a style with removable pads so you can even out the asymetry, and I think a good starting size for you would be 36jj / 36K.
I know it sounds superscary, but I think 36jj would fit borderline too small, pl style is known to run small.
If you have softer breasts, you could also give the new pls style a shot, it has a higher gore so it's less likely you'll be falling out of it :) -
Thanks, Vee. I ordered the Karmelki PL in 36K and the Stalówka PL in a 36JJ (they did not have a K and it was on sale). I saw them both on FussyBusty and they look GREAT on her and she was very pleased with the fit/feel, so I thought I'd give those a try. They also both have 2 seams in the bottom of the cup (4-part cups), so I think that would make them able to be deeper right at the bottom. Am I right about that? There's a 2-week wait for one of them, so I'll have plenty of time to anticipate their arrival. Hopefully I won't be disappointed. :-/
Sadly, the Jasmine is still taking a back seat to my ill-fitting Hermiones because of comfort. If they made Hermione in my size, I'd be buying loads of them and calling it a day. :-(
I wore the Jasmine for 3 hours last night and could not WAIT to take it off. I will have to tack up the front band to even make it wearable, but even at that, it's not fitting well. In 3 hours, during which I just sat in a meeting and was NOT moving around much at all, it slipped down a full inch. There was a full inch of empty cup on the bottom, I had quad boob on top, and the straps were digging into the front of my arms. I made sure the straps were adjusted properly when I put it on and the band is no longer too tight, but just right on the loosest hook, as it should be. It doesn't feel like it's sliding up or down. Once I put it on, the band stays put in the back.
I did take pictures at the end of wearing it yesterday. Can you tell from the pictures what the problem is? I'm thinking it's either just heavy breasts having too much leverage for this (any?) bra or this bra not enough depth at the bottom of the cups - even though it's the closest I've come to fitting yet. I feel like I'm fighting to get the wires into the crease from the moment I put it on. Swoop, scoop, sigh, pull cup up. Repeat. I do this many times before finally just putting a shirt on and calling it good enough.

helpfulThe band stretches 5 cm more than you ribcage, which should be enough. It might still feel tight, but it will stretch and actually, bending the wires will allow the tension to go down a bit as well. The main point is that the size up in the band might well be too big, so if you feel the band is slightly too tight, I would suggest using an extender in the beginning, and then when the bra stretches, wear the bra as normal.
About the cups. It doesn't look bad, however in your size this bra is meant to give quite a bit more full coverage. What happens with where your nipples hit when you move? I think that a cup size up would give you more support (as it would cover more and allow less bounce/movement) and that it probably will lift you a bit more too...
A band sliding down can actually also be because it's too tight, but I still don't think you should size up in the band. Just try it on with an extender. And, don't bend the wires until you're sure which size you want to keep.

Once the bra slips down, the nipples are no longer at the seam, but are in the stretch lace area. I will try to find an extender or order one online. Then I'll be able to see what the cups will do with the band just a tad longer. The cups really seem to fit well until the band slips down and then the cups slip down. I just don't know if it's the band pulling the cups down or the breasts pushing the cups and band down.

The quad boob does happen when the cups start to slip down after wearing. I get empty cups at the bottom, rolling under of elastic band at the front, and quad boob at the top, even with the stretch lace. I'm just not sure if it's a cup issue or a band issue.
