Issue resolved
After ordering some Ewa bras in a smaller band and larger cup, I've pretty much determined this bra is 1 band size too large and a cup size too small! Thanks, everyone!
Original problem
Hi ladies!
My first post here and I was hoping you could help me determine two things: if this bra fits me and what style might work best for my boobs (thinking of ordering from Ewa Michalak).
So, as a bit of background, I've worn 34Cs for years and only recently found out I have been in an extremely poorly fitting bra for years (thanks, Victoria's Secret). I'm 29-29.5" underbust and 36" over my breasts (37" bent over). My larger breast (left side) is also about 1" larger than my other breast when hanging.
I think I'm fairly round and bottom heavy, but I'm just not sure -- this whole thing is still fairly new to me.
Well, in this bra (Freya Jolie, 30E), I get very slight quadboobing on my largest side. Frankly, it's barely noticeable, unless I am in a tight shirt. On my period, it's much worse though -- I may as well need full cup sizes larger on my period.
I've tried Curvy Kate bras and the underwire doesn't bother me, but my breast tissue doesn't come very far over, so I don't really need a wide wire, hence the Freya bras. As a note, I tried a CK Fleurty bra, which looks similar to the Tease Me/Tempt Me bras and while my fullest side (left) filled the cup of a 30F very well, my right side gapped like CRAZY since it's so much smaller.
However, it feels like soft cup shapes just give me a slightly weird shape and I guess after years of bras that "lift," my boobs just feel lower in them.
I'd really like to buy some more bras, particularly Ewa Michalak since they get SO much love, but I honestly have no idea what style may fit me best (half cups? plunges? higher underwire in the middle or lower?). I have a Freya Deco and the underwire doesn't bug me and I don't have falling out issues, but the cups gap at the top.
Anyways! Sorry for this being super long, but I guess what I'm asking is -- does this bra fit? Should I wear a 30F? A 28FF? Frankly, I've gotten used to the tighter band and could probably go tighter. And also, if I order from Ewa Michalak, should I be looking at half cups or plunges? I really prefer my boobs lifted and forward.
Thanks for reading that, ladies. I really appreciate any bits of boob wisdom you may have.
Edit: I have no issues with my band riding up, though in smaller bands I sometimes have more of an issue with the underwire pressing into my ribcage in the front.
Also, I tend to quadboob a lot more in CK soft cups like the Lottie (tried a 30F recently).

helpfulI would say it's about a cup size too small on your left side in the picture, I don't know about the back and I cannot see which setting you have in the back picture, but it does atleast look straight. If it tends to ride up or you need to have it on the tightest hook I would suggest going down a band size but it looks okay from here.
So, a 30F is my suggestion. You should try to aim for a cup with the same depth as your breast perimeter, otherwise the bra will flatten you. A 30F sounds better for you based on the measurements as well.
Personally I've never had much lift in Freya or Curvy Kate, mainly because they just end up shaping my boobs as they are. For unpadded with a lot of lift, try Curvy Kate bras in the style of Sasha/George/Chloe/Alexa etc. They are also slightly narrower in the wire.
With Ewa Michalak all bras lift you and put you forward. In your situation I would suggest aiming for those with removable "push up"-pads, which are there for correcting asymmetry. Keep on pad on the smaller side or put both there.
If you go for something with pads and find your size I think you can wear any style you want really. PL is the plunge style and is higher at the sides, but lower in the middle and very much suitable for plunge-necklines and is also the style to give you classic cleavage.
HP and CH are very similar, only that CH has more forward projection and HP keeps your boobs closer to your body. Which one you should choose here depends on your shape, if you're shallower the HP will be the best, if you're deep CH will be better. HP might demand a bit more fullness on top as well, and because of that it might not be the best style for you. CHP is a mix between the CH and the HP.
HM is the unpadded half cup, which I haven't tried, but, if you're looking for a true half cup that doesn't add any extra volume it might be really good on you. Most people find HM slightly more generous in the cup.
The hardest part about Ewa Michalak is how hard it is to find the right band size in each style as they fit very differently. Some are really big, some are really small. The best is usually to go for ones regular style if you're in the smaller range then use an extender in the beginning if that's needed. 28-bands can be ordered, but is non-returnable. The calculator can not be trusted.
In your case I would start with a 30F, maybe a 30FF, check the measurements here on Bratabase on what seems the best for you, in PL or CH with pads, depending on if you want a half cup or plunge style. Here you can find the push-up styles: http://www.ewa-michalak.pl/pol_m_Biustonosze_Push-up-141.html
Make sure that you look at the polish version (with Google translate) and the English as the names of the styles sometimes is wrong on the English version and there is more info on the Polish one in general.

Personally I don't find the cm working at all. To make them work you need to:
A) Almost strangle yourself with the tape measurement.
B) Find a style that is tight in the band.I measure 27" at my ribcage, which would put me at a 70/32-band according to the cm-method. I do however usually wear a 26 or a 28 in bras in general, and 28 in most Ewa Michalak bras. Some Ewa Michalak bras I need a 26 in, some even 24, and sometimes I can actually wear a 30/65 in, and that's two out of 15 styles so far. No one ever I would have been able to wear a 70 in and ordering 65 would mean that I would need to alter 95% of my bras.
So, usual size is in general your best bet, unless you order something that is known for being tight. If so, go up a band size. Not more.

Wow, you know your ewas :) Im european so cm seem to work better for me :) what is your insight on lato band? Ive been coveting for too long :)

Stupid question: what is the difference between shallow and deep boobs? I am not empty on the top but not extremely full either. A majority of my breast tissue is at the bottom.
Sorry for silly questions! As I said, a lot of the fitting nuances are new to me since I used to only wear one brand and one style (Demis).
-
WhiteRabbit105, Don't apologize. :) No questions are silly. Just because I've had bras as a hobby for years doesn't mean that everyone understands what I'm saying. So, don't worry. :)
The difference between shallow and deep is the depth. A shallow shape has the breast tissue spreado ver a larger area, the base is larger, wider and/or higher and the depth, the projection, is smaller. A deeper shape has a smaller base but more projection.
In this bra it seems as if your have more breast tissue in the lower part than the upper, which doesn't necessarily mean that you are deep, but as you want narrower wires, that also implies that you have a narrow base as well, without overly much height. Because of that I would suggest that you are slightly deeper, but, that's just a guess.
The HP style goes really high at the side compared to many half cups so, some people do have gaping issues. I think you might be one of those that could experience it. It could also be totally fine, but, I'm really only guessing here anyway.
Vlatka, sadly I haven't tried the Lato, as it really isn't a print that works well with my colours or wardrobe. However, the odd thing is that it's really hard to say things in general. It seems as if the first baches are tighter than the later ones in many cases.
While some styles seem to run constitently larger (PL/CH Onyx, PL Black, Malachit, Kropek, Toffik) and some consistently tighter, it is still so many that don't follow it. I got two PL Burgund, one in 65H and one in 65HH. The 65H was 1½ band sizes bigger than the 65HH in the band. My PL Amarant was huge in the band, the 65-band fitted my sister who normally wears 70-bands really well, while many has found this style one of the tightest... I recently made a order of four 60JJ PL bras and they all were very different in the band. One I couldn't even close, one was atleast a band size too big... Thankfully I do have extenders these days (cheap on eBay) and I can alter the backs down. :)

Ahhh I understand. In that case I'd probably be more on the deep side of things.
I will stay away from HP bras if that is the case. I was looking at a CH Biszkopty (http://www.ewa-michalak.pl/product-eng-259-CH-Biszkopty.html) as a start in a 30F (her calculator put me in a 34C -- ack!). I can't find much about how the cups fit though -- I've been looking for ladies with similar measurements in this size/style with no avail. It looks great when it fits though! The Ewa bras are very beautiful.

http://www.investinyourchest.co.uk/tag/ewa-michalak-review Invest in your chest has a couple of reviews for sizes very similar to yours.
The calculator puts me as a 65GG, which doesn't even match the table. I wear a 60JJ/K... What is your full bust measurement? Bending forward without a bra? Go for the 30-band size and check for that measurement in that row in the table instead.
-
Ahh. It (the Ewa calculator) is giving me a 30FF for my bust, bent over (37"). Standing up (36"), I get a 30F.
Also, I am checking out the blog now. Thank you!
-
Also, remember that in general you might want to size up compared to other people with the same measurement as you have an assymmetry. You need to fit yourself for your larger side and if you had the larger size on both sides your full bust measurement would probably be slightly larger. But it also depends a lot on shape. I don't know where you live but it might be worth considering to order a 30F and a 30FF the first time to check the fit and return the one that doesn't fit, just so that you're sure of your size for the future.
-
Nesoa, I went ahead and put a 30F and 30FF "Biscuit" (Biszkopty) on order as well as the panties. Fingers crossed they fit!
I am a bit nervous about the half-cup style since the CK Fleurty 30F and a Freya Ingrid 30F didn't fit me well (I added pictures of them, if you would like to look). However, I am holding out hope about the padding inserts to balance my cup size difference.
-
All I can see in the pictures is that you're having gaping on the smaller side while the larger one fits you well? If so, the pads should do the trick, even if you might need two on one side. :)
And also, if you find that that works well for you it might be worth actually reusing them with other padded bras to even out. As you should always fit the larger side the smaller one will inevitably gape a tiny bit in a padded style, even if you tigethen the straps more on that side, so a pad there might enable you to wear much more bras. :)
-
The Fleurty didn't gap on the larger side -- it fit pretty well, actually -- but the straps felt extremely stretchy. The Ingrid just felt huge all over, even on my largest side (it is only slightly visible in the top-side shot of this bra, but it gaps at the top).
Also, I hope so! I love lingerie and it has been tough finding my "right size" since I can't easily go to a store [in the US] and try on bras.
-
Hmm... Yeah, the Curvy Kate half cups has very stretchy straps sadly... Not the optimal solution.
I'm living in a country with just as bad selection so I know how it is. Thankfully I do take a trip to the UK about once a year which sort of helped me quite a bit but at the moment I'm sized out of most options I can find in stores there as well... :/ Sorry for just going OT, but what I meant to say is that I understand you.
And, I saw your Deco as well... Now Deco is an extreme fit, but I think the reason to why it is gaping is why half cups might work better on you, then you don't have to worry about filling out the top of the cup...
-
It is okay! I bought bras from VS for many years and just accepted that A-DD was as good as it got. My poor boobs were always mushed down into C cups.
And I hope so! I really love the shape and "lift" from the Deco, but the gapping up top is incredibly frustrating.

helpfulThis almost appears to be a bit too small in the cup. I can't tell from the picture of the band, but it appears that the band might be on the tightest hook? If so, I would definitely go down in band size. Overall, it just appears un-supportive, but I think with a tight enough band, and large enough cup, this problem would be remedied. It also sounds like your Deco cup may be a bit too small. I have noticed that Curvy Kate, Freya, and a lot of the other small band high cup letter bras tend to look pointy or un-supportive when the cups are too small, but look very nice and uplifted when the cups are large enough. I believe my 32G Deco borderlines on too big, but my friends swear it makes me look spectacular. I don't have anything that makes me look as lifted as the Deco, not even my 34F Freya Taylor that was modeled on the Deco.

helpfulAre you wearing the bra so that the underwire hits you right at the crease where your breast and your ribcage meet? It kind of looks in the first picture like you're wearing it a little bit low- tugging it up higher in the front (and maybe a little lower in the back) might make you feel like you're getting more "lift".
I personally love love love Freyas. Almost all of my bras are by Freya. I like the shape they give me, but I can totally see what you mean- it's not exactly Victoria's Secret Angel level of cleavage. Personally, I try to avoid cleavage as much as I can, so it works for me, but you might want to try other makes and styles. I can't be a huge help there- again, all the Freya, all the time.
But I would like to suggest you try Freya's deeper plunge styles, or the half or demi cups. They give a lot more va-va-voom (see: the Deco: http://www.freyalingerie.com/lingerie/essentials/deco/moulded_half_cup_bra.aspx?colour=nude )
You might also enjoy their longline bras. I have one (the Nieve) that's about two cup sizes too small on me now, but the cut is really flattering and uplifting and the longlines should come in your size. If they're still making them the way they did last year, I'd go for a cup size bigger, though.

I think PL's work best with bottom heavy breast, and I think you are a proud owner of one such pair. As for the band size, they are quite accurate if you measure yourself in centimeters. Cup sizes Im still figuring out, but I'd go up a cup size from the jolie and pair it with a band in cm. Malwa seems to be working for everybody. ;)
