Original problem
The lace wrinkles a bit regardless of the amount of swooping and scooping, but the rest of the bra fits perfectly. I have heard that taking in the lace a bit can help, but I'm not sure how to go about that.
I would love some advice on what other bras suit shallow breasts with wide roots if anyone has some suggestions.

helpfulIt fits, but it doesnt make much with your boobs, because unpadded curvy kates are not very good for wide roots. try Cleo Lucy, Marcie or Bravissimo Rococo Charme, Panache Harmony and perhaps Andorra.
padded ones that usually work are:
Lepel Fiore Plunge, OnlyHer Bras, some Fauve Padded Half Cups, Pour Moi Essence,..Updated on February 8, 2013 Flag this

helpfulI'm the same size (28D) and shape as you, had the same exact problem with Curvy Kate Tease Me bra...so much wrinkling at the top. I just purchased a The Little Bra Company's Lucia bra in 30C, and it fits pretty well. I would recommend that, but I did notice that your breast perimeter is larger than mine so the cups may be too small. Is it possible that you have a store near you where you can try them on instead of going through the hassle of buying them and returning them? If you're in the U.S. the have a list of stores by state that carry their brand http://www.thelittlebracompany.com/where-to-buy/

helpfulMaybe you could take in the lace similarly to what she's doing here: http://brasihate.blogspot.de/2012/08/how-to-make-pointy-bra-round.html
Other padded bras you could try are the Lepel Fiore Balcony Bra, Cleo Juna (and all its more colourful sisters such as Darcy, Rihanna, Ellie)and Ewa Michalak PL (=plunge) bras.
Unpadded ones that have worked on a lot of people with wide root shallow breasts are Fauve Brianna, Cleo George and Cleo Brooke - they aren't made anymore, but you can still find them on eBay or elsewhere if you look for them.Updated on February 28, 2013 Flag this

helpfulThe fit looks good.
If you can just maybe wear the bra a bit higher, concentrating that breast tissue in the upper part of your chest you might look fuller. But then the cups will be too small.
Thanks
