Issue resolved
Thanks for the suggestions! I think this bra is incompatible with my shape. Too wide and also too flimsy wires, they stretch a lot when you put it on.
Original problem
Hi, this bra hasn't nearly supported me once. My boobs haven't fluctuated one tiny bit, they're pretty consistent in size (I have measured several times throughout the years) so what you see in the pictures is how it has always looked like on me, this particular bra.
The wires feel too wide and maybe even the cup structure? I would've much preferred if the apex would've been more centered. The back is also too big, even when it's fastened the tightest. Umm... Do you think the cup volume is too big for me or do you think it's all because of incompatible shape? I'd like to know what you guys think because that could potentially help me in the future when it comes to bra shopping
Thank you so much in advance!

helpfulThe wires on this bra are WAY too wide for you! Curvy Kate and Flirtelle have very wide wires, so they might just not be compatible with you breast shape.

helpfulHi there,
I am new to this board and new to how bras should fit, but I have a thought or two. I think the big issue to focus on would be the back band, as that may affect how cups fit you too. I would say try a back size down. I do see wrinkling in the cups in one pic, and some space where you can move the lace on the cups away from your body. Go down a cup size as well. Cup and band are too big, so work with that. If after you do this you find the cups arent working for you then it may well be this bra doesnt work for you. My breasts are wide set and it gives me all sorts of issues.

Sadly if the 28-band is too loose, there is nowhere else to go! I have this problem with pretty much every bra I try, as my ribcage is 25" (tight). I need a 26-band or even a 24-band with many bras. A too-big band can affect the entire fit of the bra. Maybe this one just wasn't meant to be?

haha, ALL bands are too loose on me... my ribcage is 24", so I feel you on that one, florecita. If it's just the band being loose though, one can always modify it or resort to a Rixie clip... although a Rixie clip pretty much does nothing for me but make 4 band sizes too big 2 band sizes too big.
OP could try to shorten the band with the use of a shortener or a friend tugging the band tighter, just to see if it really is just the band affecting cup fit.

I really feel for you girls. I'm guessing you are slim and healthy, it's so hypocritical of the media to advise healthy living at the same time as they don't carry sizes for the healthy living ones. I dunno, you both could be overweight as well but I highly doubt it with such small measurements. Anyway, the point was that I think it is hypocritical. I measure roughly 27.5" and I have a hard time finding snug bras! I feel for yoy, it's so wrong. If I struggle then you sure must struggle a hella lot. It's very annoying the fact that the vast majority of 28" bands are not true to size too. Theoretically there should be LOTS of bras fitting me snugly in the back, but due to inconsistent sizing, only a few 28" backs really ARE 28" backs!
OT, I think the fit might be wrong for me because of the straps being too far out on my shoulders. It hurts my armpits and maybe that causes excess material in the cup that shouldn't really be there for my small frame? I'm very short and have narrow shoulders. Anyone with me on that?

With me, it's genetics. I don't think I'm healthy per se, if it's to believed that I am indeed 5-10 lbs underweight. But then again, I actually have the smallest ribcage in my family, next to my sister, so I doubt gaining weight would help.
It is pretty stupid, that they haven't updated measuring and sizing techniques... I'm pretty sure once upon a time a 24" ribcage would have been comfortable in a 28" band, but then again, why don't they have 28" bands in America in the first place?
Even the 28" bands I have stretch out to 29-30", I totally get what you mean.
I think it may be that too... but seriously, try pinching the gore or just basting it to see if it helps. And if it does, you can take the plunge and try modifying the strap/cup, or just list it and try getting a bra with a narrower gore.
It's worth noting that it seems that Flirtelle, CK softcups in smaller sizes seem to be cut deeper than the padded ones, since I've read a bunch of complaints from people in the 28-30" D-F cups range that they get a lot of wrinkling and wire distortion and discomfort.

helpfulFrom what I can see from the front, it looks like you have some orange in a glass. It doesn't seem to be that way from the sides though.
Have you tried taking in the center gore? I experienced some orange in a glass with the Panache Confetti, as well as the wires being too wide, but I was able to fill out the cups better and eliminate a whole bunch of wrinkling when I took in the gore. Especially since it lists your breast shape as close boobs, it might help the wires being too wide (the cups might actually just be too far apart) and it'd shorten the band some.
If however, you take in the center gore and get more gapping, it could be that the cup is indeed too big for you or an incompatible cut.

I haven't tried taking in the center gore no :) I'm uncertain if I wanna do it though, might list it in the future. It's hardly worn so...

I've listed (and transferred!) the Confetti I took in, since I didn't cut off any extra fabric. It shouldn't be too difficult to just take out the stitches once you decide to list it, and I've done it to a number of bras with minimal to no damage to the fabric when I undid it.
Just do a simple running stitch, if you dare! :D You won't know for sure until you try.

It's nice to hear the same observations that I myself had! Sometimes you just get lost in this bra matrix. I think I'll stay away from Curvy Kate and Flirtelle.
