Bra fitting help » Same cup US and UK?

Issue resolved
Someone noted that Freya does not change cup sizing when they list their US size. I think I'm going to try a few 32 HH (UK) balconettes next. Thanks everyone!
Original problem
I know I need a smaller back size, but the cups are almost perfect. However, I'm not sure weather how to interpret this, as it's listed as a 34H, both in US and UK sizing. I'd like a cup that is slightly smaller, but not much.
I have another US 34H (Parfait, by Affinities) and get a quad boob from it (it's also listed as a 34FF UK). I have two other UK 34 H bras, both by Flirtille. One is a balconette and it is ok. The other is a full bra and the cups are really wrinkled at the top.
Between this bra and the Flirtille balconette I'm ok for everyday, but I desperately need a plunge bra; and I don't know what cup size I should be looking for! 0.0

helpfulFreya just doesn't 'convert' the cups size, so it's more like a US 34K

While theoretically there is a logic to bra sizing (whether it's +4 or +0) I think that the fitters forgot to inform the bra designers of that. There's SO much inconsistency in sizing, even among bras from one brand! For instance, I had Freya Teagan and a Freya Luisa in the same size (30H) and the Luisa was HUGE, whereas the Teagan fits me just right.
Since I found Bratabase, I've been having much more luck because I can search bras and see if the measurements listed are close to mine.
I recommend browsing around here and seeing what plunge bras come close to your measurements- it helps make the guessing game slightly easier :)

i second cake mimic whole-heartedly! Bratabase has been such a big improvement when trying to guess bras, although it is worth checking around the sister sizes of your size, because some numbers entered on here are very clearly wrong!

helpfulThe band is riding up. I recommend you try 32H if you want a smaller cup size, as that's a volume size smaller. I would also just ignore your US size. Freya is a UK brand, so it uses UK sizing. It makes everything a whole lot easier.

helpfuli'm a 34F in US size which is consistent with the US size listing on my Freya. yes, the cup size is same for US and UK sizing. but why shouldn't it be if the cup size is the difference between the under breast measurement and the over breast measurement? confused...

The letters assigned to cup measurements are typically different for the US and the UK. So a 10" difference is normally called a K cup, in the US and an H cup in the UK. Likewise a 6" difference is typically called a DDD or F in the US, but an E in the UK. Wikipedia has this helpful chart: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brassiere_measurement#Cup_sizes_vary. However, UK sizes are more standardized than US sizes, so these differences are not exact.

i agree hat this is UK sizing - so if you want something that fits a 32HH should have the same volume or a 30J (in U.K sizes)
