Bra fitting help » Underwires sit on breast tissue :(
Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) » 28G 28:9
Issue resolved
Not wearing bras with wider gores at the bottom. Not the bra for me.
Original problem
I think it gives me a great shape, but I think the cup style may be wrong for me or that the cups are too small. The underwire sits on breast tissue no matter how much I move it, and the centre gore doesn't sit flat, and presses into tissue. The wires are too wide, and the band is quite firm, but could be firmer. I appear to fill the cups until I move my shoulders slightly forward, and then the cups will start to gap at the tops, and then my nipples decide to sit precariously on the middle edge

helpfulI think you should try perhaps going up a cup size? I can't really tell from the picture but it looks at though the gore isn't quite sitting flat against the sternum.
Also, if you have full-on-bottom boobs, that could explain the gaping (which sadly the deco is infamous for!)
I hope this helps a littleUpdated on February 13, 2013 Flag this

helpfulWhat happens when you scoop away from the center gore, so that there is nothind under the wires?
I don't think going up a cupsize will help, because the wires are already too wide, so your breast isn't held in place, instead it goes back because there is too much space to escape. Sure big wires are better than too small wires, but if your boobs escape after seconds, then it doesn't work for you.
But i think you should try to scoop free the center, it looks like you have only scooped everything to the middle against the gaping, but you have to get the inside wires free tooUpdated on February 14, 2013 Flag this

helpfulHi there! I tried on this bra recently and have the same fit issues. I think part of the issue is the bra style. The cups are shaped in a way that it doesn't make it very versatile for certain shapes. I think the shape of this cup in this size is too small for your shape so that not all the tissue is being properly held into the cups.
The cups look "short" on your and I think the wire falls a little short too. The problem with this bra is the curve in the contouring at the top of the cup. It doesn't really "mold" to the body as much as it expects the body to mold to it--if that makes sense. That curve will be more pronounced in a bigger cup. Have you tried styles from Panache? Their underwire tends to be different from Freya.

I've got the Cleo Meg which I also have photos of (and fit issues with) on here. I think you might be right that wires are too short, but I also think they're too wide too. I tried on a 28H Cleo Lucy in store and found that it fit quite well except that the lace on top seemed to sit really weird (I think I needed to try it on in a 28GG which they didn't have)

helpfulIt doesn't look like you're scooping. Once you scoop, you can get a better sense of how the bra fits: http://www.thinandcurvy.com/2010/11/how-to-put-bra-on-correctly-its.html
But yes, I suspect your assertion is correct about the fit! Too bad the Deco range only goes up to 28GG in very few styles.

I swoop and scoop for every bra I put on, so may the wires are too short for me?

helpfulI'm guessing your problem with this bra is the same as mine, and that the wires are too far apart at the base of the gore.
Unfortunately, it seems all Freya bras have pretty much the same center gore at the base, with varying heights depending on style. In the non-molded styles you can solve this by taking in the center gore to move the wires closer together at the base, but that doesn't work in the Deco, as the rotation of the cups makes them sit really weird.

I really don't think it does :( You can see in the front photo that the wire on the right in the middle is digging into my boob :(

Yeah the gore digs in to my boobs and doesn't sit flat. Whilst I do think I should go up a cup size, I'm worried the gaping will get worse :(
