Issue resolved
My sternum isn't quite flat so it will never lay fully flat.
Original problem
The gore on every bra I own does not lay flat. Can anyone tell from the fit pictures why this might be? Is the band too big with too small cups, so if I go down to a 28F or 28FF it might fit better with a flat gore? I also wonder about going down in band size because I feel like my bands always stretch out VERY fast and it looks like in the side photo that the band is riding up slightly. I feel like I move to the tightest hook very quickly. (My tightest ribcage measurement is 27.5"; loosest is 29"). It also appears there might be some creasing at the bottom of the cups, but, not near as bad as there is with the Cleo Jude (which also digs into my arms/sides like there is no tomorrow). I've heard this might be because the cups are too shallow for my breast tissue; if this is true what bras come with deeper cups? My favorite bra brand that I've tried thus far has been Panache. But, I'm willing to try anything
It is still very comfortable and it doesn't bother me.

helpfulYou seem to have a slight indent where your ribs meet your sternum, visible in pics 3 and 4, which is not uncommon (hollow breastbone/minor case of pectus excavatum). I have a similar problem and can always fit a finger under my center gore if I inhale fully, even when a band is otherwise snug against my ribcage. Some people can bend their underwires to curve with their ribcages, but others are shaped differently. As long as you can raise your arms without moving the band and the underwires fully encapsulate your breast tissue, I wouldn't worry about the center gore. I'm not sure about your other fitting problems, though.

helpfulI would say the band is definitely too big.
Have you scooped and swooped?
And yes, the cups seem too shallowUpdated on March 5, 2013 Flag this

helpfulI also think the cups are too wide for you. They don't seem to hug your breast roots.

prettyNpetite so a narrower wire with deeper cups? Do you know which brands are like this - I think I heard Freya was.

I do know that Freya generally are narrower, but I'm not sure what kinda shape your boobs have so I'm not so keen on suggesting anything for you just yet, sorry =/ Freya bras swallow my armpits, the cups just come up so high on me and it's really uncomfortable, that's why I'm hesitant to advise you to go with Freya. How tall are you? Do you have narrow shoulders?
-
That's totally fine! :) I appreciate any help. I'm about 5'5". I believe I have bottom heavy boobs. They look more tear shaped and I get the orange in a glass effect in certain bras (Cleo Jude). I don't really know how to tell if I have narrow shoulders or not :/ I've never had issues with the wire bothering my side except in the Cleo Jude that I can remember; though I really haven't had any Freya bras.

helpfulHi,
I know this might not be the advice you are expecting, but I think the size is actually ok for you. I think its just the bra that doesn't fit you well.
The band seem to be ok because any tighter and you will make the breast tissue in top corners of your underarms (back side picture) protrude even more outwards. Scooping this part might not work because it depends how firm the breast tissue there as become. The cups look bit too big now but when all that breast tissue goes into place you should be able to to fill in the cups. But the problem is that the bra looks wide on you, making it look ill fitted.
The gore is not sitting flush to your body is not because you are wearing the bands loosely, its because that part of your body is just not flat and straight for the bra to sit flush. Making this part of the bra sit flush means that you will wear the bra too tight. This is a case by case basis but this is what I see from your pictures.
I know members on here don't really like it when we give additional advice, but I'm actually more concerned on the back picture you have submitted. Are you slouching just for the picture or are you relaxed? If you commonly have this posture it might mean that bras in the past have pushed down on your chest and pulling you in a slouched position. Meaning that you have worn bras that are too small (cup wise) for too long in your life.
Hope that helps. Again this is our personal opinion.

Do you think even if I scoop n swoop that the cups will still be too wide? So I need to scoop n swoop of course and possibly look into a narrower bra?
I understand that maybe if I wear it tighter it will make that back part protrude further.
I think I generally slouch and have just recently (the last year or so) started wearing bras closer to my real size.

Peggyko Yeah, I scooped n swooped before these photos. What brands have deeper cups? Does that change the wire width; how do you know how wide of wires do you need? And I think the next bras I get I'll try the 28 band, just wanted confirmation - Thanks :)
