Bra fitting help » How many sizes up for Curvy Kate

Issue resolved
I'll try one to two cup sizes larger.
Original problem
This was my first try at a well-fitting bra. Initially it seemed to be too big in the cup, but some migration showed that it's actually too small.
There is major quadboob in this bra, which is more obvious after wearing it for a little while (it's not so bad here) but there is still wrinkling at the top.
Does the shape seem to be right for me if I wear the right size? How many cup sizes does it look like I need to go up?
Thanks Ladies!

helpfulThe wrinkleing in the top of the cup is a phenomena called "orange-in-a-glass", which is also a sign of that the cup is too small. Think of it as if you where to push an orange into a glass, it wouldn't fit in and you would get empty space in the bottom of the glass as the orange just doesn't fit in. That is what is going on here.
You say that the band feels too tight, but it does stretch about 6.5 cm more than your ribcage. Do you think the band is actually too tight or are you just not used to snug bands? You might want to try it on with an extender just to get an extra setting and check how it feels then.Sometimes we end up being between band sizes and starting of with an extender is usually better than buying the bigger band size and soon end up with a too loose band.
If the band is actually too small, that will stretch the cups and make them appear shallower and wider, and then also smaller. That is another reason to try it on with an extender.
As to cup size, my guess would be one or two cup sizes. I honestly think both might work for you... I just think you need to try and see. If you find that you're inbetween a 28F and a 28FF in this, you might want to try Emily or Romance from Curvy Kate or Dahlia from Flirtelle, they all have looser top edges and you might be able to fit into a slightly smaller size in those.

helpfulI'd say go up a cup size, but Curvy Kate might not be the right shape for you. It looks like you have a wider root and shallower cups? It's hard to say from these pictures. I'm not sure which brands/types would be best for you though, I'm sure someone here knows.

My cups aren't that shallow, the bra makes it look that way.

Still, I think the Cleo Lucy would be a good bra for you to try.

Thanks. I'll look into that one next.

helpfulOne or two cups up depending on how you wear the bra. If you are wearing your old ill fitted bras with this one alternating, the migrating will not be as quickly, so one cup bigger is fine. But if you change all your bras in your wardrobe at once with good fitted bras, eventually 2 cups up.
And if you wear your breast higher up, which is not possible with this design, then 3-4 cups cup since you will be concentrating more breast tissue in a smaller area, needing for larger cups to hold that volume. That excess volume comes from the top of your chest, which this bra currently does not support.
Hope that helps.

This comment helps a lot.
What kind of bra would let me hold my breast higher up? I think this is what i'm used to in my ill fitting bras and would like to try it with a good fitting bra.

Any bra with better support will do.
You are already getting the hang of getting a good fit, now it's time for you to find a more supportive bra. :)

After wearing the bra for a while, the band seemed to fit alright, and I did start with the extender. I actually purchased the Dahlia with this bra (with similar fit issues) at the same size, and I noticed that I fill that one better, but the quadboob is worse. But thank you, I will look into both 28F and 28FF when I can afford to again (and the Emily especially, I've read a lot about that one).
