Issue resolved
Now the bra don't bother me - may be it's broken in or may be it fit's me better on my smaller days
Original problem
Hello!
I'm trying to get used to my new size and to get fitted by myself. I guess this bra fits and I don't need a bigger cup but it bother me a little - the straps rub my arms and underarms and they tighten the cups up and flatten them from the sides. Should I simply remove the straps or I need a different style?

helpfulIf the straps are on the loosest, they might be hiding that the cups are actually too small.
That would be consistent with my first impression - this is what some of us are calling the BrasIHate fit. There are no major issues - cups cutting in, gore not laying flat... But all in all you are getting too much cleavage than what I would expect from a well fitting bra. But your boobs do look spectacular in it
The numbers back me up here - your perimeter is 35 and the cup depth 28?? The bra from my point of view is too small. Now I totally respect if you want a bra to look like this on you, but please do try something with bigger cups, just to see how you feel in it. You look more like an H cup to me.I think this is partially related to the straps. This bra isnt meant to do heavy lifting - thus such thin straps.
Try shortening them - what hapens? Do they get in a better position? And do you get a quadboob then?
In bigger bras you will find more comfortable straps.
As for the position, you might get this problem with a lot of balcony cuts unfortunately. But in a right size and shortened to fit it becomes bearable. As for reccomendations - I do think you are a Cleo girl all the way most of their bras should work for you - all except lucy if you are not willing to take in the gore. If you want more coverage - panache andorra and jasmine. If you want padded, try masquerade rhea or delphi, or ewa michalak styles depemding on your prefferences.

You do have cose set breasts, and full on top at that. I think you are quite similar to Bras I hate actually, in shape and size. Have you read her blog? This is why I think cleo will work well for you. The bras you should avoid are panache confetti and harmony, cleo lucy. Freyas and unpadded curvy kate might not work that well for your full on top boobs.
cleo alexa is a good start- its widely available on ebay for like 20 bucks :)
Remeasure yourself - I hope t_maia will see this thread and tell you what to measure and how :) -
I've read Bras I hate as some other blogs looking for someone with the same size and form. I thought I'm full on bottom. I'll try cleo but now I don't know what size to order )))
-
Have you tried the Butterfly colection calculator? What does it say? :)
The oder wonderfull bra calculator is t_maia :))) I am just waiting for her to get involved :)
The other thing you can try - and I found this method very usefull - try the exact same bra in exact same size like a bra blogger you follow and think of as close in shape and size. So, If you take for instance a 30 H in Cleo you should know where you stand compaired to Bras I hate. That could make your bra shopping a lot easier :) -
Btw. Sophia jenner has 32G boobs.
http://sophiajenner.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/the-pink-bra-challenge/
I think we could agree that she has smaller boobs than you :) -
buttefly calculator says I'm 32g. I measure 78-99cm.
In pink bra post Sophia's wearing Thrill me in 28hh and I have it in 30h and nees a cup size up. So I'm a size bigger. -
How do you measure the underbust? What's your supertight measure? I ask because you seem smaler than 78.
Anyway, a 30H seems like a good start:) -
supertight measure is 76 when I can't breath ) I've read that Showgirl bras run small in cup and big in band. But I need even 30hh
-
Ok, since you all called. :D
Sandrix, could you please let me know the following:
Underbust as tight as possible - 76 cm ?? (try to rip the tape please)
Underbust loose on skin - 78 cm???
Bust standing
Bust lying flat on your back
Bust bowed forwardall without a bra and in cms please.
As for the rest, I agree with Vlatka. Although I think that if 76 cm is your tightest measurement, a 32 band will do. From the pictures I would suggest a 32GG or 32H Panache Andorra or a Freya Rio. That is assuming the 32G from Tesco is true to size, not always a given with those cheap bras.
-
to t_maia
here are my measurements:
underbust - from 75cm tightest (tape rips into my back) to 80 breathing
bust standing - 99 (with the tape parallel with the ground)
lying - 102
bowed forward - 109
thank you in advance!lying - 101
bowed toward - 106 -
Ok, just from your measurements I would be thinking that you are in the 32FF/G/GG range, combined with the picture I think you might want to try out bras in 32GG. Do you have a Debenhams nearby? They stock quite a range of sizes and brands, plus their housebrand Gorgeous is really good and relatively cheap.
-
thank you! I live in Russia, there is only one Debenhams in the state and it's not in my city :) My place to go is ebay but now I'm going to get some bras from Brastop
-
If you are in Russia, you could try out a certain bra from Milavitsa, the 11718. I think you might need this bra in 70H. Other Milavitsa bras in 70 H/i/J might also work.
-
I tried it on and it was rather nice in 75f - I'm not sure that anyone will find it useful cause Milavitsa doesn't seem to sell international, but they use different types of material in their fashion and basic line. Basic line bras are made of cheaper and unstretchy material so one has to go band size up
-
Milavitsa does sell internationally. I'm from Germany and we have several stores here bc of all the migrants. I've tried the 11718 in 95H/i which is closest to my size that I could finde, I've found the band to be very stretchy and that the cups run large. The 75F you tried should have been too small in the cup, I think this is the reason you found the band tight. A too small or too big cup can make the band feel tight or loose. It is a good idea to put the bra on backwards - cups in the back, closure in the front. This way you can test whether the band really fits or whether the cups distort the feeling.
-
that's the only way I can put a bra on, I can't fasten them on my back )))))))))) I'll try this bra one more time ) I have their 11993 bra in 70G which is beautiful but the band stretched out very quickly and the cup turned out small for me
-
I think the 11993 might be a similar cut to the 11718, but this is just a rough guess from looking at the pictures. Freya might be a good brand for you to try, especially Rio and Polyanna and Polyanna-related cuts except for Faye. Also Cleo Alexa.
-
thanks a lot! you a very helpful! glad to hear about both Pollyanna and Rio cause I need a nude bra

helpfulHere's my 2 cents:
To me it looks as the center gore isn't flat against your chest actually. And since your boobs touches in the middle above it I'd say this bra is all together too small.
The wires don't wrap around your boobs, your boobs gets smashed down (look at the angle in the bottom of the cups) which takes away the volume of the top of the cups.
The wrinkles at the bottom of your cups is probably because your boobs cannot settle there. I also agree with Vlatka about Cleo.

I've added a picture from above with a center gore. I wish I could try on any Cleo! do they have same sizechart with Freya or Fantasie?
-
Ohyes, that's not flat at all. I agree with Vlatka, you have way bigger boobs :)

helpfulWhat happens when you loosen the straps? Can you find a sweet spot between too tight and slipping off? It almost looks like the straps are carrying a lot of weight.
From the side, it does not look like the straps are rubbing because they're placed in the armpits. However, it does look like that's happening when you look at the front and 3/4 views. Can you rule out material, are the strap edges and underside smooth?
Other bra styles have straps placed closer inwards. Those might work better for you, particularly if you're petite or have a short torso or shoulders.

Hi! in this pictures the straps are already loose but anyway a have red marks on the shoulders and underarms. I tried to take the straps off and then the cups almost stood at place - as far as it's possible for a non-strapless bra.
May be it's material of the straps, they are thin and narrow for me or may be it's just their placement. I've just received CK Thrill me bra and its straps are wider but they also rub a little.
Yes I'm short, 5'3". What bra style would fit me better? I like full cups but they often have high arm-holeso they also rub armpits -
I've only tried Curvy Kate, Freya, and Panache for more than a few hours. Stay away from Panache Tango for sure, though maybe there are other Panache or Cleo models that work. Ewa Michalak CH bras have straps in just the wrong place, but their HM straps are much more comfortable.
Curvy Kate seamed cups might work; the underwire casings go up high but the wires do not, and the straps are closer in. The Showgirl range that Curvy Kate makes don't have straps set too far apart for me (5'2") but I also haven't worn them for very long. I've never had trouble with Freya straps rubbing or underwires poking. That said, they do slip off my short shoulders more often than most styles.

This Butterfly Collection blog post is about slipping straps, but it might also be informative for this issue: http://blog.butterflycollection.ca/2012/10/5-reasons-your-bra-straps-slip.html
Notice that first image. This Tesco bra is shaped like the one on the right, and maybe you should be looking at bras like the one on the left. -
thank you for your help! I have to buy online cause in my city there are only 2 shops that sell Freya, Fantasie etc at the price of about 80$. I've never tried Panache but it seems I'm rather a Freya girl - I guess I need a narrow gore with deep cups. I like Ewa Michalak bras but I have no idea what is my size there.

helpfulI think you probably nerd a band size down and two cup sizes up. The center gore isn't quite flat, and the cups are catching the breast tissue as it falls, rather than supporting it. I think the problem you're experiencing with the straps is because they're sitting lower and farther out from where they are designed. You could try tightening the straps a little, but I think that will probably make the back ride up. Maybe you could try supporting with your hand to see if the strap does any better then?

the band is realy firm and as for the cups - yes, probably I need a bigger cup size. If I tighten the straps they just dig into my skin more. I think I'll remove the straps closer to the center in the front

helpfulI totally agree with what everyone's said. Definitely give a cup size or two up a try. That may fix the problems you're having with the straps, since they'll be in a totally different place if your boobs aren't trying to push out of the bra!
But I'm not sure! I think you might also just be suffering the issue of straps being too far apart :/ I get that a lot, as a narrow-shouldered person.
I'd recommend trying some different styles- balconettes may not be for you, since they tend to have straps further apart. Give plunges a try, since the straps are usually closer-set, and look around for a bra with convertible straps that you can move around to suit you. (I'm fond of the Freya Deco strapless, which runs big in the cups and small in the band (I fit a 30GG.)

helpfulCup size seems fine. Perhaps a different style is in order

thanx! could you recommend the style?

If the straps are loosest I have a gap at the cups' top. If it might help I may add some more pics. The gore lays flat and underwire seems to lay on ribcage, not on breast tissue... may be I'd need a deeper cup. If I shorten the straps the cup is ok, I don't get quadraboobs the straps jusi dig in more.
Actually I'm not sure about my breast perimeter - I don't know if I mesured it correctly. My other bra http://bra.pe/SB17/ has alike measures and I need only a dash bigger cup. This Tesco bra was bought online, I have limited possibility to try bras on and have to guess my size and I dont insist on having g cup :) I've just received Thrill me bra in 30h and it seems I need hh.
as for cleo... hmmm... I'v never tried any Panache bra but it seems I have close-set breasts (how to determine that?)
thank you for you help!
