Issue resolved
I did my swooping and scooping properly, and everything settled in and filled the top of the cup much better. Thanks everyone!
Original problem
this bra isn't as well consturcted as the flirtelle swirl and I'm not sure if I should return it and try something else. It gaps along the border. To be fair I just finished my period so my breast aren't holding as much water as they will in a couple of weeks. Should I hold onto this bra or exchange it for a different model?

helpfulTry it under a white t-shirt.
From my experience it is normal and ok that the lace is a bit loose, if you feel well-supported and the cup fits elsewhere, don't worry about it.
When you swell up before your period, you'll be grateful for that little bit of extra space.
As for your pictures, it would be nice if in the future you took care to take the pictures so that the boobs are at eye-level with the viewer. The first frontal picture is good, but those odd angles from below aren't very helpful.

helpfulHello,
Do you mean the lace that sticks up above where the cup would finish if it didn't have those big swirls?
If you do, then i think it is totally normal for that to be bit loose / flappy. I have that with all the bras i own that have lace/ pattern above the upper cup seam.
I fit is the whole of the white upper section that is loose then you may need a size down.
BTW, it is a Very pretty bra - i love the look of it, did you get matching knickers?! *off to look on brastop *

This may be even thet inbetween sizes thing. Smaller one would have been too small.

helpfulI think you haven't done your scooping Its a nice looking bra with just enough space to take in the tissue you havent scooped in, that is left outside the cup under your arm. Try it! It may turn out even too small in the end - but I do hope it will be just right. Anyway i do think you should keep this one. Not inly for pms, but migration purposes

Yes, I put this bar on again and was very exacting: bent at the waist, eased into the cup and scooped from the sides to under the band. that worked!

helpfulThe bottom angled photos are actually helpful! You can see the side spillage in them. (Kind of surprised no one else did) The cup is not quite high enough on the sides for you and thus tissue is escaping. You also have migrated tissue that is not in the cup, the band and side wings are resting on top of it. When you scoop yourself in, do so with a sweeping motion rather than grabbing, as this will help smooth over the tissue. You may find the cup fills out better after doing so.
The thing about unlined bras is they really have to be an exact fit. If you didn't have leftover tissue not in the cup and this bra fit the same, I would say try a bra that has more forgiveness in the fabric because it would seem you'd have an inbetween size issue.
If you aren't able to hold in your side boob after scooping properly then I would suggest returning this for a style that's cut higher on the side, or a different size. Could you upload some photos of what the bra fits like after scooping?

I do like the bras I have with a higher side wire and that was something I noticed about this bra, and yes, I was much more diligent in scooping into the cup, and now I fill it. I'm going to move around in it, now that I'm home, and ess if everything stays put.

helpfulI bought this same bra and I love how pretty it is, but it doesn't fit me either! I ordered it in 34H and there was way too much looseness in the top lace, so I exchanged it for a 34GG, which just arrived yesterday and it doesn't fit either. The lace now lays very flat but the cup now feels too small and it does not support me at all! I think my boobs are just too bottom heavy! I'm going to return it for something else entirely.

I was trying to show how the wires conformed close and the center gore was sitting, because I thought the bottome of the bra fit really well - with some I have a very small gap between the root of my breast and the wire. I have put it on again and scooped, so I'll see how everything stays while I cook a little something to eat.
