Issue resolved
I went ahead and altered both smoothie based on the blog instrutions posted. I am super happy with the final result. Moving the strap position not only fixed the strap issue but also got rid of the creases at the bottom of the cup. FYI I tried to do this with my new wireless Freya Deco and as was mentioned in the tutorial Freya are put together differently so I would reccomend it.
Original problem
So same issues I have with the daily boost I am having with the Smoothie, straps too wide and get a wrinkle at the bottom of the cup, but the band on this one is also way too big (have it on the last hook in the pics). I do get some gapping at the top of the cup with my smaller boob but nothing to noticable. Again, I am thinking about maybe trying my hand at some alterations because I do really like the style and look of this bra. Do you think shortening the band would help fix the strap issues or is it hopeless and I should just return it?

helpfulI don't think shortening the band will fix the problem with the too wide straps. I sympathise with you as I have this problem a lot, it's very frustrating and the only solution I have found is moving the straps in a little as per this method http://dressingcurves.blogspot.se/2012/03/alterations-moving-strap-position.html I have only tried this on a soft cup bra and have shied away from trying it on any of my molded cup bras. Also, moving the strap in using this method caused me some other fit problems in that the cup ended up being too small and I had a bad case of quadboob and armpit spill.
Since you seem to have had the same issues with the Daily Boost (wires too wide, cannot fit into the bottom of the cup) I am thinking that Curvy Kate may not be the best choice for you. Curvy Kate tends to have wider, shallower cups and it seems like you need a narrower, deeper cup. Generally speaking, I think you may have more luck with Freya, Fantasie or Cleo since they tend to be narrower and deeper in the cup.

Ok so I bit the bullet and tried the tutorial and I am actaully very happy with the result. I have only done one side so far but the strap position is way better and it fixed the problem I was having with the crease at the bottom of the cup also. A video on A sophisicated pair said that the crease comes from the weight of the breast being to heavy and that the strap pulling from the center of the cup can fix that so it makes sense. http://sophisticatedpair.com/blog/?p=2930
The steps in the tutorial were a little confusing until I actually started doing it then it made more sense. I am probably going to have to take in the band too because it is only wearable right now on the tightest setting but as soon as I am done I will post some follow up pics. So far I am thinking I might be doing this to almost all of my bras :) thanks! -
pics please! I pretty much have to do the same with my bras, and the tutorial didn't make sense to me

I'm glad it worked out for you LovelyTaTas!

helpfulShortening the band really won't help with strap placement, afaik, because if you shorten the band it's mostly the back that's going to be affected. You might shift the position of the straps in the back, but it doesn't really change it in the front.

helpfulIf you want to keep this style, I would suggest ordering a band size down (but stay the same cup size). Just altering the band won't change the strap placement.
Curvy Kate straps tend to be wide set, anyways, so the brand may just not be for you.

Unfortunately I am aready in a 28 band so cannot go down a band size :(

Oops, I guess I didn't even put two and two together. Then, I would just suggest that this may not be the brand for you!

That tutorial doesn't make a lot of sense to me when I look at the pictures, I've tried using it before and only ended up getting really confused :( Not saying it's a bad tutorial though.
