Bra fitting help » Gap at top of cup -- wrong shape or wrong size?
Curvy Kate » Tease Me Padded Bra (SG2001) » 28DD 28:5
Issue resolved
As cute as this bra is, I've decided to return it. I'll try a 28D if I can find one, but it seems like the cups on this bra might just be too deep for me.
Original problem
As you can see from one of the pictures, there's a little gap at the top of the cup. This happens on both cups, even after scooping and swooping.
I couldn't get a 28E to try (out of stock), but I did try a 30DD, which should be similar in cup size. The gap problem was even worse on the 30DD, with more wrinkling at the top.
Is the shape of this bra just wrong for me, or could getting a different size help?

helpfulThe cups look too deep for you, which explains why they are standing away from your body. Ideally you would probably need a 28D in this bra for the depth, but that might give you a cup that is too narrow instead. It's hard to say from here, you probably just have to try, and see how much less width in the cup that would be okay compared to how this bra fits you now.
A 30DD would both be a cup size larger than this which on it's own would give you even more depth, and with a larger band the cups would be less stretched, which once again give you even more depth in the cups. So, if you really like this bra, try it in a cup size smaller and see how it works for you.

helpfulI looked at this a few times now figuring out what to say.. And all Ive got are questions - the side shot looks like cups too deep. However, the front shot looks superweird - the bra seems to be sitting too low on your chest and you seem to be very high on chest. Is the wire in the crease? It seems lower. What happens when you try pulling the cup higher?

Haha, my chest is very confusing! The bra is in fact sitting in the crease -- if I pull it up any higher, the wires sit on my breast tissue. Now that I look at the front shot, I think I mistakenly shot it at a slight angle, that could be why it looks funny...

Hi semaphore...sorry, I guess this isn't going to be much help after reading your response, but I was going to suggest same as Vlatka. We seem to be really close to the same measurements, and I also fit the cleo jude in 30E. I find that when my band isn't tight enough, bra slides down, and top of cup wrinkles and cups look too deep, very similar to this... when I pull the bra up to fit in the crease, I am poked in the sternum because wires are too high, and I'm also very high on chest....but the wrinkles go away and i fill the cup...am ordering plunges this week because of low centre gore and will post reviews, maybe that will help

helpfulI had this same problem with the Tease Me. I ordered it in 28D and 28DD, and both gapped at the top of the cup, but my nipples were barely under the lace section at the top, and my areaolas showed! I thought sizing up would only make the gap worse. Other ladies in 28D/DD/E seem have the same problems. I wonder if this bra just isn't made very well in the smaller cup sizes... I hear ladies in larger sizes have a lot of love for the Tease Me.
I got the CK princess in 28DD instead of the Tease Me. The ribbon/lace at the top of the cup laid flat, as did the solid section at the bottom, but the sheer panel wrinkled. I altered it so that the ribbon/lace now sits directly against the edge of the solid material, which is a pretty good fix! This way my nipples are concealed under the extra fabric rather than poking through the mesh bit. I also bent the wires out a bit at the sternum. It's not a padded bra but it's working pretty well for now. Maybe something you could consider?

Good to hear that this issue is more common than I had thought in these cup sizes. Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't try the Princess, but I did get one Tempt Me. Unfortunately, it came with one of the hooks broken so it's a bit difficult to try on, but the cups on that bra seem to be much more shallow than the Tease Me, so it might be a better fit for me.

Thanks, I've had a similar problem with some other bras also, but I wasn't sure exactly what it was. This bra is really cute, I may give it a try in 28D if I can find one. It's weird because the consensus seems to be that this particular bra runs small in the cups, but I already went down a cup size from my usual size for the above picture...
