Bra fitting help » I think it fits
Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) » 36E 36:6
Issue resolved
Apparently I need to go down 1-3 band sizes and up a cup size (or 2). Story of my life, right?
Original problem
So this is first bra I've owned that's remotely the right size. I think it's a relatively good fit but if I put my shoulders back the look a bit snug. The next cup size would be too large, right?

helpfulWell I'm no expert but the band is definitely too big, especially in a stretchy Deco band. It's riding up in the back even on the tightest hook and the front isn't laying flat. I would try a 32FF if the cups fit or even a 30G.

Wow, you really think the band is too big? I feel like going down a band size would just be too tight though.
-
You're wearing it on the tightest hook though.

It's also riding up in the back, and you can tell that the band is being pushed out in the front(there is a shadow underneath the band in the front). With a 31" ribcage, I'd be shooting for 32 or 30 bands in general. With the freya deco, I'd recommend a 30 band because it is VERY stretchy.

Sorry, that was unclear of me. The band on this one is a 36 even though my measurements seem to indicate I should be a 34; so going to a 32 or 30 seems a bit extreme.
-
Could you please post the following measurements:
underbust loosely
underbust as tight as possible
bust standing
bust bowed forward
bust flat on your backall without a bra and if possible in cms.
If you do that, I can calculate your brasize.
-
What IS your actual underbust measurement? A 31.5" underbust suggests that you should be a 32 or possibly 30, not a 34! If your underbust actually measures 34", that would be a good place to start in terms of bands -- especially with the stretchy freya deco.

Oh um, well my underbust measurement is 30.5~31, so maybe I'm just wrong all over the board.

helpfulBased on the picture and your ribcage measurement, the band is too big. I recommend that you try a 30 or 32 band. Since you're used to a 36 band, you might find the 30 too tight. I'd recommend a 32 FF/G. You will be more supported in a smaller band.

I agree with demeter... how bad is the snugness when you put your shoulders back? The next cup up may work if you're already starting to bulge out of this one since the band on this is not tight enough. A 32 would be better or if you like it snugger then you could try 30 too since you're inbetween.
