Bra fitting help » How many sizes too big?

Issue resolved
Smaller cup.
Original problem
I just got this bra. It seems like the left side fits, but the right side is wrinkly. I am nursing and tried this on after nursing my daughter. The band seems to fit well. I wonder if a 30F would be ok?

helpfulI'm honestly not really sure if this is the right model for you. To get the right cup volume I think you 're on the right track with thinking one cup size down would be enough. However, the wires seem like they are quite perfect on you in this bra. You have also indicated that the wire width is good. Because of that, even sizing down just one cup size might make the cup too narrow for you.
I would honestly suggest avoiding the unpadded balconettes from Cleo and look for bras that are wider and shallower. If you want to try Cleo still, I would suggest a 28G in the Juna and those with the same cut.

I actually think that that Wild At Heart bra might be really good on you. Maaaaaybe you could use a 28GG, it is hard to say as we haven't pinpointed your size just yet, but I think it could be good for you.
About my bras... I saw your message, I've just been thinking about what to answer. The polka bra might be too loose in the band for you, I don't know as it never remotely fitted me. The cups are quite shallow and wide though if that shape would work for you. The cups might fit, but it's such a different shape as it could be hard to tell just from this.
I really think that the padded half cups from Cleo could work for you, as they have a similar shape to this one,but shallower, wider and with an open top edge, which is just what you probably need. Bravissimo plunges might also be good, depending on how you find the Wild at Heart there is a lot that you might like. I don't know if you've tried the Thrill Me [showgirl Collection] or Tease Me [showgirl Collection] from Curvy Kate, those could potentially also work on you, but it all depends on how shallow and wide you really need.
This specific bra is very narrow and very deep so that this one is too narrow and too deep doesn't say much.
I'm also thinking that it might be worth trying 30G in Parfait By Affinitas, and Freya half cups.
Might have some other ideas later on, but that's what I can think of now.

Sorry to butt into your conversation! But I was wondering what the rationale for avoiding unpadded cups was. Is there a specific fit issue that would indicate you should do that, or is it a personal preference thing, or is it because one side is wrinkling and the other isn't? I'm hoping to learn more about appropriate bras for different shapes etc so I can help out more of my friends :]

Emmeth, I don't see any specific reason to avoid unpadded cups apart from what the person asking for advice prefered. The reason why I suggested the padded half cups instead of the unpadded balconettes was a shape difference, not the padding especially.
There is some reasons to chose padded before unpadded though. If the outer fabric is stretchy, the padded fabric will make the bra more supportive. Swimwear is a great example of this, a lot of the time much large-cup-swimwear is made in stretch fabrics, when the cups needs to be completly non-stretchy. It might also be about warmth, when living in a cold climate. It can also be about being able to pad out a size difference easier (as a pad will show through less). Padded bras also tends to more have a shape of themselves, which means that when the bra isn't perfect in fit, the padded version is in general more wearable than the non-padded.
In general also, padded seamed bras tends to be most common in plunges and half cups, there are very few padded fuller-coverage bras out there. The only one I can think of is the S bra by Ewa Michalak, Some shapes have an easier time to find a good fit in plunge bras and half cups, especially those that are firmer, more full on top, have shallow boobs or just a lot of tissue in the upper part of the cup for some reason. Then the classical non-padded fuller coverage bra is much much harder to fit, which means that just by sticking to padded bras one will get a much better track record.
Does that explains anything about the general case? Hopefully the starter of the fit request can explain about this specific case. :)

Yes, thank you so much Nesoa! That was definitely very helpful. I hadn't thought about it/realized that fuller coverage bras didn't tend to come in padded varieties. I've been kind of avoiding padded bras because they always seem to be shallower than their non-padded peers, and I'm never sure whether I'm supposed to size up to achieve the same cup depth or just leave them as is.

I like the support from padded ones. Plus Im breastfeeding and my nipples show too much in unpadded ones. I like the shape and strucutre of padded ones. Slightly padded. They seem to hold me in more.
Nesoa Tyanks for tue tips. Ive been eying the tease me and hrill me ones. Im not too keen on the parfait design..but i will keep looking. Once i get the 28g ill have more to go off of.

helpfulOne cup size. I wouldn't worry about the cup becoming too narrow in a cup smaller as the bit under your arm is still quite far to the back and you have a tiny bit of space right next to the wire in the centre in both cups.

helpfulIf your breast will not fluctuate too bad after nursing, this bra is actually ok (might be a cup too big). It is impossible to find the perfect sized bra since it is meant to fit a million people around that size. So you might be 30F and a half rather than 30F.
I bring this up because if the size can't be "just right" you rather have cups that are a bit too big than a bit too small. Since if it is a little bit too small the bra cups will push on your breast causing your breast tissue to leave your breast area and go to places that you may not want.
This is especially true for women after nursing because it is when the breast tissue is the least firm. This is the most delicate time for your breast and you will not want something that is too small, but you want something that is a bit too big if you can't get the 100 percent correct fit.
Hope that helps.

Sigh, I agree. I don't like unpadded ones. wish I would have read the description more properly. I've decided I like
padded
underwire
3 piece seamed bras.
I'm buying a Bravissimo 28G, which looks like it might fit as far as measurements go. The cups on that one are not as deep, but a bit more further apart. Less wire, but hopefully not too much!

Nesoa any other bras you'd suggest? I was looking at some of the ones that you had for sale, but I'm not sure any of them would fit me.
