Bra fitting help » Tight band, loose on top of cup
Cleo » Lucy Balconnet Bra (5851) » 34FF 34:8
Issue resolved
Solved the problem by upping the band and downsizing the cups.
Original problem
I ordered this earlier this week. I tried it on, but the band feels way too tight uncomfortably so.
I feel like I don't really fill the top part of the mesh but am not sure if that is normal?
Also just nervous now because I ordered a couple 34FFs from brastop and am worried about fit.
Just curious if I really sized this correctly or not. Also if it's meant for my boob shape.

helpfulDid you "scoop" yourself into the cups (i.e. reach in with the opposite hand and pull the breast tissue into place)? If not, try to see if it makes a difference. If you did, then I think this looks it might be a cup size large - it looks similar to what I look like when I went up a cup in the navy Lucy. As you appear to be full on top, a cup size down would likely fit well in the bottom of the cup and feel somewhat snug along the upper edge of the lace, with the lace giving the appearance of cutting in somewhat. This doesn't necessarily mean you'd be unhappy with it - I'm full on top and the cup isn't as roomy there as I'd like it to be, but I alo find that it looks good under clothes and is supportive.
Incidentally, I have this bra in yellow, black, and navy/pink, and I found the navy/pink to run a little larger in the cups than the other colors (and the black wider at the bottom of the gore - go figure). I also have a pink 34FF that a friend gave me, as she found the band too tight to tolerate. The band on this bra is generally considered to be stretchy, but in looking at some of the other sizes, it does seem to run a little short to me. I do think that all of mine ended up stretching out to be nicely comfortable. If a 34F also feels uncomfortably tight, you could consider breaking in with an extender, or jumping up to a 36E to see how that works (I generally think matching band size to your exact under bust measurement is best practice, but I'm also against being miserable ).

helpfulThe band feels too uncomfortable because, well... its stretched measurement is smaller than your ribcage measurement. Although, I can tell the cup depth isn't correctly measured (or maybe typo'd?), as I own Lucy in a 34E and it's deeper than that, so I might be wrong

It's a typo oopsy! I will have to be fixing that! Thanks for the catch on it though.

helpfultry a 36, and downsize the cup size by 2: not sure how your system works but I think that would be a 36E or EE... it looks like the shape would actually fit you very well if the size is right.

All the photos are after I scooped and swooped in this bra.
I really do like how this bra looks especially under clothes.
I think I may just get an extender to stretch it out some then wear it normally after that.
