Bra fitting help » What bra size do I need? Fitted until I scooped up side/back breast tissue :-(
Freya » Deco Moulded Plunge Bra (4234) » 30FF 30:8
I've lost a lot of weight recently and as I've stopped breastfeeding I wanted to get measured professionally. I was measured as a 34E. When I brought the new bras home (not the ones photographed), the band was riding up my back and I had quadboob. After researching online, I measured myself - 29 inches under bust and 37.5/38 over bust. I bought two new bras in a 30ff - a Deco and Freya Jolie in what I thought was my size. I initially thought the Deco fitted perfectly, well compared to the 34E's. Once I discovered that I wasn't fitting myself in to the bra correctly, I scooped up all my stray breast tissue and now I'm spilling out of the Deco. The band feels loose on this bra too. It's new but I've it closed at it's tightest hook. What size should I get now? The band on the Jolie is also loose so I've it closed on last hook. I'll upload photos of the Jolie as would like to know what size I should have ordered. Any help greatly appreciated

helpfulIf you're wearing the band on the tightest hook, the obvious solution is to go down a band size to 28. You're clearly spilling out of that Deco by at least one and maybe two cup sizes (after you've already made the adjustment in the cup letter to account for the band change), so your starting point should probably be 28GG (UK). Calculating it another way, if your band is 28 there's a 10-inch difference between that and 38 inches, which is a GG.
It isn't unusual to need to go down a band size when you have an odd number for the measurement. I measure 35, and wear mostly 34s, with only a few 36s from brands which run tighter in the band.

helpful30FF is the same volume as 34E, so no wonder you're quading! I think the best option for you would be 28GG in the regular Deco because that's one size larger than this (also the largest cup size in 28). If you want to try to get more Decos or Deco-like bras, I must warn you that the Taylor, Hatty, Ashlee, they all run much truer to size than the regular Deco, which runs large in the cup and the band. In other bras, you might find that 30GG is the best size for you if the 28GG in the Deco fits.

Thanks Jillsas. I'm definitely going to try the 28GG. That's really helpful info re the other Deco type bras. I've also asked for help re a Frey Jolie in a 30FF that I bought and the consensus there seemed to be to try a 28GG. Just wondering how I might it on with trying a 28GG in both the Jolie and the Deco if the Deco runs bigger. If the Jolie fits in a 28GG is the Deco in same size going to be too big?

If the Jolie fits in 28GG, then 28GG in Deco might be too big. If that's the case, 28G might fit (though the band will likely still be too big).

I hear both the Deco and the Jolie run large in the band.

Most Freyas do, but the Deco runs huge in the cups as well.

helpfulYou have very similar measurements to me (my bust is 38.5-39 and my underbust 28-29) and I wear a 28GG-H or a 30G-GG normally. I think if you're getting spillage, you need to try a bigger cup and if the band is already fastened comfortably on it's tightest hook, you should be trying a 28 (especially as the band on a Deco is quite stretchy). Is the bottom of the cup full? It looks as if you might have pushed too much of the breast tissue to the centre, leaving the outer edges and the bottom of the cups empty but it's hard to tell from the picture.

Thank you! I'll definitely try the 28GG. Wish the nearest Freya stockist to me wasn't a 3 hour round trip away!
