Issue resolved
Thanks everyone! Looks like I might have to alter the band in order to keep it from slipping down & just remember to scoop but otherwise it fits!
Original problem
I recently learned that underwires weren't supposed to cut into your boobs and hurt like crazy. So began the search for a bra that fit. 32C to 32D to 32DD. Long story short, I got tired of falling out the bottom and sides of my bras and began looking for one that fit.
Thought I was crazy for trying on this size, but went for it & loved it. It's my first non-padded bra and it's comfortable, really holds me in & for the first time I feel supported. When I scoop & swoop, I seem to fill out the cups -- no wrinkling and I can't feel any loose fabric -- but I'm not sure this is the way it's supposed to fit. (I'm used to the cups cutting into the boob so I have no idea what "normal" feels like) The fabric doesn't really ever gap, but at times, the top of the right cup just touches the skin -- I can easily pull it away. I'm just not sure that I quite fill out the top of it.
You can see how it looks under a too tight shirt too... Anyway, I love this bra because it makes my figure look about 10x better and it's the first bra that I don't "feel".
But I don't know if the cups are too big. Also, you can see the back fat issue... Would love to know what all you "braxperts" out there think! Thanks!

helpfuli think the biggest problem for you will be that your breast tissue is probably not in the right place after wearing badly fitted bras for a long time. so, the back fat and underarm fat will probably migrate back to the front of your body with time.
You need to be super vigilant with scooping - make sure you really pull from the sides! It is likely to escape for a while in the beginning, but after a bit of wearing good bras you might find that your cup size increases and you have less back fat because it has become boob!
One last thing, when you put this bra on, are you lifting your boob at the bottom and pulling the cup up so that it sits under the root of your boob? it looks as though you boob *might* be slightly flat at the bottom of the cup - i am not certain, but it is worth checking. Hold your boob from underneath inside the bra cup, and then pull the wire with your other hand, let your boob fall into the adjusted cup.
Overall it looks like a good fit to me, but you will need to carry on scooping and swooping for a while i think before the back fat goes!

Thank you so much! That video definitely helped. When I put the bra on like that it definitely fills out the top. Over time, though, some boobage escapes and I've got to scoop & swoop again.
About the bra being in the right place, I do pull it up and it fits wonderfully at first. But then the band just seems to inch down... (continuing this below)

helpfulIf anything, you could try a smaller bandsize. The band looks as if it was riding up a little when you lift your arms.
Other than that, I really envy you for being able to wear Freya's longlines.
As cbear said, the backfat will disappear with proper scooping and swooping (same here )Updated on January 30, 2013 Flag this

i wondered that too, but i *think* that the reason that the band looks angled up is because the front is too low, therefore, if the front was in the correct place, the back would look right also.
i don't believe that cowgirly could wear a 28 comfortably in this style at the moment, i think it would be too tight, might distort wires and would increase the back fat issue... -
It appeared to me like that from 10th photo but you might be right, cbear. In the 9th picture it looks more like the front is too low and not that the back is too high.

Thank you all so much! The front of the bra does seem to slip down and not want to stay put. Could it be because my ribcage directly under the bust measures 29" but only 27" at the bottom of this band? The band is quite a bit looser at the bottom than at the top...

That could be a reason.
Maybe you could try hooking the bra tighter at the bottom but I'm not sure if the hooks would stay put then. Altering the band is a possibilty, too, but it might affect the fit of the cups. -
I just wanted to add that I get a similar problem with Freya longlines, even though I don't have much of a difference between my underbust and my waist. (27.5 underbust, 27 waist. Most of the difference is that I'm bony on my underbust, and more squishy around my waist.) I think the longlines were built to accommodate those who are larger in the waist (or about the same).
They probably figured it would be better if smaller-waisted people had to alter it down, rather than if larger-waisted people discovered their waist was too big for the style, like most companies. Which makes sense, but leaves us having to alter everything. :( I'm thinking of putting some darts around the waist so that it fits better.
However, I also need a 28 band in this style, even though they don't come in a 28. (Which is a shame, because it runs large in the band.) I also wanted to mention that--if you are a small 30, it may be a touch too big for you in the band, especially around the waist. It seems like it's not very noticeable on you though, so you're probably fine.

helpfulI think this bra looks good on you. The rim of the cup looks a bit high, but it matches well with your shape.
You might want to check out the Freya Padded halfcups with the vertical seams, (see Freya Summmer Padded halfcup); they have the same cut.
