Issue resolved
Terrible shape for me
Original problem
I've tried this bra on a few times. In the pictures I've tightened the straps more than I'm used to, but I'm used to wearing bras with really big bands, so had to have the straps loose to keep the band down.
I think I'm more of a 28FF, but I don't think that going down a cup size will fix the issues. I get both wrinkles and quadboob (though the quadboob is very slight and hardly noticeable) in this bra. The bottom seems to fit alright, but there is a bit of empty space at the top. When I push my shoulders back, I get a bit of quadboob.
Based on how it fits, I feel that if I go down a cup size, I will get a lot of quadboob and still have wrinkles. While my breasts seem to be neither full on top or bottom, they are kind of empty at the top, unless pushed up with some padding. That's the only way I can think to describe it.
So, do you ladies think going down a cup size will help with the fit of this bra? Do you think the Lottie is not for me?
I love the feel of the Curvy Kate bands for the non-padded bra's, but haven't yet found one in the correct size that works for me. Any recommendations for non-padded or moulded bras (CK or other)?

helpfulMy guess would be that the cups are too tall for you You might be better off with a half-cup if you could pull it off (= no gaping).

That makes a lot of sense. I actually have the Rhea in a 28FF, and it's the only decently fitting bra I have.
I've been eyeing the Cleo Lucy, and I'm wondering if it would be suitable. It doesn't state half cup in the description, but the shape looks like it covers less than the Lottie.

The Marcie is good for full on top, which you probably are if halfcups are best on you, I don't know about the Lucy, sorry :(

Lucy is good for full on bottom and full on top boobs (I'm FoT). Since your breast perimeter is 10.8 (mine's 10.5), you should try it in 28G.

helpfulYour breast shape looks very similar to mine (!), and, for me, bras with that cup shape don't work, even with the right band width, unless the center gore is very narrow. I'm just a beginner when it comes to analyzing bra fit, but, to me, your cups do not look too big, but either the band is not snug enough, the center gore is too wide, or both.
I'm guessing the wide center gore combined with the deep cups allows your breast tissue to "migrate" to the sides, instead of being compacted into the cups. I have a Freya unlined underwire balcony bra (Pixie) with a similar shape to Lottie, and I've tried to get the cups to encompass all of me by shortening the bra straps so they're actually folded in half. This gives me "quadro-boob", and squishes me, but the cups still crinkle up and down where the straps pull. I think this cup shape isn't ideal for "wide-roots" and more shallow upper breast tissue. Another solution could be that if the band is too big, it's distorting the cups by pushing them forward and causing the awkward gaps.
Possibly shorter cups would work for you. They do not work for me, because they tend to make me look "cut in half" or they become a "shelf bra". If you project more to the front than I do (you seem to in this bra anyways), demi cups would probably work well for you. You could always sew a small seam into the cups to keep them from crinkling on top.

The band feels snug, but may be too big. The gore though, I think is perfect for me. It's quite comfortable and stays tacked, but I may be wrong.
I just discovered that some cups can be too deep for some people. I have a Freya Jolie Plunge Balcony (4101) in 30E that is too small in the cups yet has the same wrinkling at the top, though much less than this one.
I think that the shorter cups will work for me, just comparing to the older bras I have (in the wrong size) and the Rhea I have that fits. While I will be trying to sell this bra on here soon, since it's NWT, I got two used bras in a smaller cup size that give me wonderful shape, but have this wrinkling at the top. What kind of seam would I sew to help this?
Thanks! -
Like you, I dislike any padding, graduated pads, and I'm not crazy about moulded cups. I recently discovered the "deep" vs. "shallow" cup concept as well. I believe the Freya Jolie Plunge Balcony is the same style as the one I mentioned wrinkles on me (Freya Pixie Plunge Balcony). It's obvious on me that the cups aren't too big, because they're more than snug, for the most part, but because my breasts don't get much narrower toward the nipples, they just won't squeeze into the narrow tips of the cups.
I altered the cups of my Freya Secret Garden "Padded Half Cup" bra because unless I was standing up straight as a ballerina at all times, the 1/2 cups folded at the top (my breasts are shallow on top). (The "padding" in these cups is created by the vertical and transversal seaming in the moulded cups, rather than from some kind of foam bumps or...*shivers*...gel inserts.) I folded 1.2 cm tucks at the top of each cup, right where the cups connect to the straps. I tacked the fabric beneath and behind the straps, and then sewed 1.2 cm zig-zag stitches on the fold. The stitching and the folds are invisible because they are behind the ends of the straps. These small folds are just enough to keep the tops of the cups from folding when I bend, and I don't "spill"out from the loose cups.
In the picture of you showing the tops of the cups, the center gore looks wide, but that's the wrong angle from which I should have analyzed the center gore. I'm sure I perceived it incorrectly; thus my comment about the gore being too wide. In the picture of you showing a frontal view of you wearing Lottie, the bra looks like it fits you perfectly. I wouldn't imagine the cups didn't fit if you hadn't shown the creasing in your other photos. So far I think Freyas and Panaches have the most comfortable center gore fitting (for me). The one brand where I just can't stand the center gores is LeMystere. They are painful!
Have you tried any Panache bras yet? I have a Tango II Balcony that fits like a glove - it pretty much follows my shape exactly. I couldn't figure out why my Freya Pixie in the exact same size was wrinkling at the cups, and it turns out Panache is known for having wider underwires and shallower cups. Makes sense that Panache fits better for me! My rec for you would be to give a Panache Tango, either the balconnet or plunge a try. The cups are unlined but amazingly supportive.

I just remembered that in my profile, the photo of me wearing the Secret Garden Bra was taken before I altered the bra. I was sitting when I snapped the picture, so the cups had folded. If you are able to see closely where the cups sort of disappear into my underarm tissue (particularly on my right side) you can see a wrinkle. I pinched the wrinkled sections in the opposite direction from the way they show in the photo, tucked them behind the bottoms of the straps, and stitched them down. Now the cups are completely smooth and I stay in the cups at all times. Hope this helps :-)

helpfulYou have the same shape as me...I find it hard to fit into these styles of bras as cute as they are If you were to wear a bra this style I would try one where the straps aren't as far over. Have you tried the Curvy Kate Entice bra?

helpfulWe're a similar shape. If you really like the Curvy Kate bands, the Emily ought to work better with your shape. I also hear recommendations for the Panache Andorra (although some people said it gives a pointy shape) but I've never tried it myself.

I've had the Andorra recommended to me as well. I'll definitely look at the Emily now. I've looked past that one a few times in the past. Thanks for the advice! Are there any other bra's that you'd recommend outside of CK?

I have good luck with the Cleo Alexa and Chloe. The Juna is nice too but it' padded and I think you'd have trouble with it since the band runs big.

The Masquerade Rhea is a good balconette sort of bra, and it's available on ebay (UK) in 28FF for about £5 right now.
