Bra fitting help » problem with shoulder pain, maybe too big in cups or band ?

Issue resolved
This bra is just too big in the cups.
But it fits with pads before my periods. The band is also a bit too big, I will re-alter it soon, but it is wearable.
Original problem
-Photos without the necklace is how the bra looks today when the straps give me shoulder pain (it is not horrible, but tiring).
-Photos with the necklace show how the bra fits with the straps confortably loose
-The photo with the bow in the center gore is an old photo I added when I reviewed the bra a few weeks ago.

Sorry to link my blog directly, but it is for showing you how the bra fitted me 3 weeks ago. Cups were a lot more full ! I don't remember I already had shoulder pain because of the straps at this time. The center gore was also altered, but the sewing broke (proof that the band is quite tight, no ?).
-all photos are with one pad for my smaller breast, and scooped and swooped. This bra is my favorite by now, I have worn a lot and a lot, and with time, I began to feel shoulder pain, and the pain disapear quickly after putting off the bra.
If I loose the straps, the cups gaps too much (even with pads), and don't feel supportive. If the straps are tightened, the cups are good (gaps a little maybe, but not noticiable under clothes),and I have support.
The band don't ride up (I have altered it), even with the straps "too tight", but it don't feel mega tight.I ask for your help, because I really feel there is something good for me in this bra, without the shoulder pain, it is SO confortable ! I wonder if I want to buy an other 3D or not. Maybe in an other size ?
When I compare photos from 3 weeks ago and today, I have "lost" a lot of breast, and maybe i tried to compensate this by tightening the sraps, that explain why this happens now, and not at the beginning ?Can I order a cup size down, so i can wear the straps more loose without gaping ? I am afraid of quadraboobs, or nipple pointing down or armpit fat. What do you think ?
I didn't realised my size fluctuation yesterday when I posted an bra aventure about shoulder pain. Maybe it is my "summer size" ? I know my breasts grow a lot on PMS, but I wasn't on PMS when I took the photos for my blog (the bra used to be too small in my pms time, I am curious to see if it will fit me with loose straps the next time).
So :
-I think the first thing I have to do, is wearing my smallest bra (a ck trill me in 28F) for now, and keep an eye on my breast size, too see if I stabilise "small" or if I go back to the size i used to be (in this case, no problems, I can wear the bras I already have, or order a new one in the same size).
but if I stay "small" :
What should I do ? Do you think the 3d can work for me ? if yes, should I order a new 3d a cup size smaller, and keeping this one for pms ? order the same size ?
Or don't order this model anymore but continue to try other bras to find something better (do you have an idea of an other bra that can fit me well) ?
As you can see, I am a bit lost !ps : I know I don't want to order a new PL, or CK trill me, or only her half cup. They are the other bras I wear regulary, but they are all a bit too narrow in the wires, I want to find something better.

helpfulMy first thought when looking at the pictures is that the bra doesn't look like it is giving you any support. Are the measurements you have listed for the bra- pre or post-alteration? If they are pre- can you take another stretched band measurement with the altered band?

morgahn : the band after alteration can stretche to 80cm (it is in the area of my others bras), it don't ride up, but don't really feels tight, I think I can wear it a bit tighter, but not much. I can try to re-alter it 2 cm maybe ? I agree with you this bra don't support my breast, I think it is why I have worn it with the straps adjusted too tight, for adding support.
When my breasts were bigger, this bra looked like that : http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I4xc2m4T-Q8/UWrAMecvkpI/AAAAAAAAAnQ/CnLxsGRVbTE/s1600/3DCZchange5.jpg . Today, it looks like that : http://media.bratabase.com/cache/fa/15/fa15b7a84c2fbb448d83397094fa58f9.jpg
The band is the same. The support wasn't a problem when I had bigger breast, but with smaller breasts it is. That's why I am thinking of a problem with the cup size, not with the band, but I am not sure.Do you think the bra with bigger brest looks supportive enought or not ?
prettyNpetite : So you think the contrary of morgahn, the band looks too constrictive ? it don't feel constrictive this at all, it is very confortable.

I'm not sure you know what I mean Galactica. When I say constrictive, I don't mean too tight. I mean that the band maybe feels a bit too non-giving (firm elastic). Umm... Just like elastics you put in your hair; some are extremely strong and never lose their shape, some are very weak and you have to be careful not to twist it that extra round so you don't stretch the elastic for good. I'm thinking that maybe this bra is like the first example (too firm elasticity). It might be too big for you in terms of support, but way too constrictive (firm elastic) and so you feel the need to size up in the band.
Hmm... I hope that makes sense. This might not even be the problem for you in this bra, but maybe.

oh ! yes ! you may be right ! I understand what you want to tell me now ! I have altered the bra with a non stretch ribbon ! (with pretty embroidery on it, so I can wear a top with a low back, and if my bra show a bit, it is not the ugly hooks, pure coquetry). Do you think if I replaces it by something strech I will get better support ?
-
Hmm... Not exactly. I'm glad you understood what I meant with it being constrictive though!
I think that maybe the band is too large for you but it *feels* too tight (without the alteration) because the fabric is so firm? I have a few bras that theoretically should be big enough for me in the band (not too small) but still I get discomfort from them, and it feels like they are too tight when in fact they are just about right, the only problem is that the elastic at the bottom edge of the band is too tight. Have a read on this bra review of mine and you'll hopefully understand what I mean when I say a bra is too big and the band and *feels* too tight!

Hum, no, I didn't have this problem with this bra without alteration. The elastic used is stretchy just in a "good" or "confortable" way. But I have this problem with other bras (the elastic at the bottom of the band is constrictive, so it dig into my muscles and bones, but I still can put the band away from my body a lot (a whole hand)). I like loose straps, so this type of band don't ride up, but they feel too tight and not more supportive than other bands.
It is interesting.

helpfulYou need a 28 band, so I would try a 28 DD or E. I would look at belle-lingerie.co.uk or brastop.com, try a curvy kate if you are uncomfortable in tight bands, their bands are quite flexible.

Thank you for your advice, and taking time to help me !
I already have 2 curvy kate in a 28 band (a tease me and a thrill me) : when I put them on, they feel tight, supportive, etc, but after two or three hours, they become too tight. The thrill me is 9months old or so now, and I can wear it on the loosest hook because the band is stretched, but the tease was worn only 15-20 times, and it is too tight even with 3 hooks of extender, I can't bear wearing it a whole day, I am thinking of selling it.
I think I need a band that can streches up to 78-79-80cm when it is new., and for a used band, I think I need between 79 and 81cm of strech.
Curvy kate also have too separates cups for me, and I don't want to buy an other bra from this brand, because of it.I am sorry to contradict the cup size too. I agree can probably fit in a sister size or a loose 28E with my new breast size, but I think the 28DD and sister sizes would be much too small in the cups.
According to my little experience in trying bras, my breasts can't fit in a cup that is 1 cm or more smaller than my breast perimeter. I suppose it is because they are not squisable ? -
Yes, the perimeter usualy is equal or bigger then cup depth.
It has to do with boob firmness but also with how the tissue gets distributed through the cup so some bras with suprisingly small cup depth sometimes fit.Anyway, this one is clearly too large in the cup, one size down at least.
And I don't think you *need* 28 band because your boobs aren't all that heavy, but between 28 and 30 it's your choice really :) -
Have you tried any of the Freya half cups like the Freya Patsy Padded Half-cup (1223) or the longlines like Freya Just Flew In Padded Longline Bra (1393)?
Bravissimo also has half cups such has the Bravissimo Moulin Rose (AU24) and Bravissimo Mademoiselle Bra (LN110) which, based on your what works for you and bratabase measurements, I would suggest a 30DD in as a starting point.
-
I second morgahn 's suggestions and have one more too add - Braologie.
Aditional + for you is that they have superlong straps I know you need! -
Thanks, I will look for 30DD as a starting point.
I am interested by the freya longline and the bravissimo tanzania stripe (http://www.bratabase.com/browse/bravissimo/tanzania-stripe-au41/)
One of my biggest issues with bras is the center gore. I need it very narrow between my breasts (just one underwire wide). I am afraid theses two bras are too wide here for me...
The tanzania stripe really catch my attention, because it is unpadded, and I never had a non padded bra in my size...I was also thinking about a only her plunge http://www.bratabase.com/browse/only-her/latte-plunge/ maybe.
How much cost a braologie bra ?
-
arround 50 dollars I think.

helpfulHi ! Thank you for all your suggestions !
I remeasured myself today, and have edited my fit request with it. My breast perimeter is 1,5cm smaller now, Other measurments are the same. I have also tried all my bras, and they are all too big.I looked at the 30DD in listing, and there is a 30DD marcie. Do you think it can be good for me, or am I too shallow ?

My guess would be that you maybe wanted an extender to wear the bra with NOT because of how tight the band felt, but how constrictive it felt? There's a difference. Some bras are overly sturdy for some's preference, and I think that might be the case for you with this bra.
