Bra fitting help » gaping at top of masquerade

Issue resolved
It seems to fit well enough, just not perfectly. Thanks Ladies!
Original problem
I measure 28 inches around my ribcage, but wanted to try this one because it was cheap and the 28 inch bands i tried were really tight. Here I show the bra on the tightest band. Unlike the 28E bras, it doesn't seem to give me quadboob, but there is some gaping at the top (shown in the pictures) and some wrinkling at the sides. It still looks smooth under a t-shirt, but when it is on the loosest setting, it does ride up.
Is the bra not a good fit or is the shape bad for me?
Either way it's way more wearable than any other bra i have now.

helpfulI think that the gaping could be due to a combination of a too-big band and a slightly-too-big cup. This always happens to me when I wear my old deco, which is a band size too big, and has also stretched so much that it's way too big in the band and just a little bit too big in the cups.
It makes sense, because a 30E is made for 30" underbust and ~36" overbust, and a 28F is made for someone with a 28" underbust and ~35" overbust. Even though 30E and 28F are the same cupsize, someone who fits 28F measurements (and has approximately a 35" overbust) could still get gaping in a 30E (which is 36" overbust). Sorry if that's confusing but I just learned this information not too long ago and suddenly everything made sense! haha.
I think a 28F might work better for you, in both Masquerade and Curvy Kate/Flirtelle. I also think those may be good brands to start with, because they are often a good shape for fuller-on-bottom and separate boobs.
Hope that helps!

helpfulHm, it looks pretty well on the pictures... especially the band looks all right. But it may be wrong if it rides up.
Have you ever tried other Masquerade padded plunges in different sizes? They are all similar, I think. I'm a fan, so I can tell you my impressions:
-With 79 cm ribcage I wear 32 band. I have one 34 band and same impressions: it look and even feels all right when put on, but moves and rides up a bit during the day. So I think it's safer to go for the tighter band.
-Cups can be tricky. I used to be an E cup and 32E fit perfectly, but then my breast grew a bit and now I can't decide between F and FF. F is a bit tight, FF kinda loose like your bra. I wear both. It's worth to remember that after some time those bras become softer, but it takes many laundries. It's also a matter of preference, I hate even a hint of a quadraboob, so I'd rather wear a slightly too loose cups, especially in those models a little bit of space isn't tragic, as it doesn't show under clothing. Too small, padded cups are much worse in my opinion.
-Also, if one tends to retain water during cycle, like me, having some looser bras is very handy.Updated on March 5, 2013 Flag this

Thanks, that's really helpful. I wore it all day today on the middle hook with minimal riding. There is no quadboob, which is awesome. This actually seems to be the first bra I can wear under a t-shirt without worry.

Thank you. That is kind of what I was expecting, and it does make sense.
Bra fitting is just so confusing since I haven't had a perfectly fitting bra yet. I was hoping that the sister sizing would work for me making more bras (and slightly more affordable ones) more available.
