Bra fitting help » 28D CK Tease Me: too big/small/deep?
Curvy Kate » Tease Me Padded Bra (SG2001) » 28D 28:4
Issue resolved
Thank you for all your help
Original problem
EDIT: so I think this bra fits better than I thought it did, besides the too-stretchy band, after putting it on the second hook, allowing me to tighten up the straps a lot. But is it just the cut that is making my nipples now really poke out-- they're covered by the lace but they are not in the cups.
I'm trying to figure out why this bra doesn't fit for future reference. I know CK is really "for" large busts, but I really want it to work since they are so pretty
The sternum digs in--why?
Do the wires look okay?
Is this a bra for full-on top people only? I fill the cup and in some ways it feels too small--my nipples almost poke out the top--but thanks to the lace, it looks like i'm gapping a lot at the top.
Am I just unused to un-molded bras?

helpfulI'm no fit expert but I had a lot of the same issues as you with this bra. You can use cotton wool or something in the gore to stop it being so painful, but it's not exactly a long term solution. You might find that plunge bras and other low gore styles are better for you.

helpfuli think it might be a bit low on your body - in picture 2 the straps look really long and the bra looks super low. Try puling it up a bit more maybe?

helpfulI would try smaller bust brands like b. tempt'd by Wacoal, Affinitas (and Parfait if the Affinitas 30C is too small), Lepel padded bras, Ewa Michalak, etc...
Read this and try some of the bras from the list: http://www.venusianglow.com/2012/09/small-breasts-with-broad-base.html

helpfulI'm not sure, but I think the gore might be too wide for you. Another thing, how do the straps feel? If you tug the cups closer to the center to create "pulling" like a strap would, does the gaping dissapear? If so, it might be that the straps are too far out for you. I'm not certain, but I have this issue almost all the time and when I tug the cups closer to the center the gaping completely goes away.
The band is too big for you also.

Will all of CK's 28 bands be big on me, or is this limited to this bra/showgirl collection?
-
I've heard the showgirl range runs much bigger in the back, so you might have better success with the regular range :) I have no CK bras though, but that's what I've read.
-
I've tried 28 band padded showgirls (I have a tease me and thrill me), and I also measure 27" underbust... the showgirls definitely run pretty large in the band. I need them on the tightest hook, even though I have other 28 bands that do fine on the loosest.
Although, you may have to stick to tight-banded 28s. Freya and CK showgirl are known to run pretty loose in the band, so you may want to avoid them. (I think normal CK are more true to size, but I'm not sure.) Cleo, Masquerade, and Ewa Michalak are known for having tight 28 bands. (Especially Ewa Michalak, who will make 26 bands on request.)

helpfulI had the exact same issues as you did with this bra (though with 28DD): sternum digging in/causing pain and the gap at the top of the cups despite filling out the bottom and sides of the cups. It also looked like the bra was sitting really low from the front, even though the wire was right in the crease.
I eventually concluded that the cup shape was not right for me (too deep at the top) and returned it.

helpfulI'm not really an expert, either, but I know that the lace doesn't really lie flat on a lot of people. Some people also need to go up a cup size in this to make the wires fit.
I find it very hard to see if the wires fit in your pictures - the first looks a bit as if they were too narrow - so I think you could best find out yourself. Put the bra on and mark where its wires end (with an eyeliner pen or the like). Then check if this is on or next to your boobs after taking off the bra. Or leave it on a bit longer and check with the wire marks themselves if you own this bra.
You have put it on the right way, scooped and swooped your boobs in, right?
I think half-cup bras are the right type of bra for you, btw. and I wouldn't recommend plunges, except for Ewa Michalak PL bras.Updated on March 2, 2013 Flag this

helpfulI love that bra but yes I had the same problem. You can try sewing felt under the wires to add extra comfort (that's what I have done with high gores). Curvy Kate Bras tend to have this problem, it just depends on shape. I can give you some links of cheap bras with the 28 band if you want. Also just a thought, I ended up sewing my band in to make it smaller so if you ever find a 30 that fits in the cup but not in the band you can easily alter it to become tight . I do that with alot of my bras. It looks beautiful on you! You rock it!

helpfulThe gore is making you uncomfortable because your bodyshape is not suited for this kind of bra. Shoulder straps might actually be a little bit too long so you can't wear the bra higher up.
Try finding bras that you can wear at a higher level, that will concentrate more breast volume into a smaller area giving your fuller breasts all around if that is your preference.
If you also notice the bra cups look like its off to the side, meaning it pushes down on the front of your chest. Might want to try something with closer cups as well.
Hope that helps.

helpfulTo me the bra simply looks too small. In Image 6 of 8 the wire digs into your side, indicating that it might be too narrow. Add to the fact that your nipples are escaping and you have a too small cup. That the cups gap like crazy is probably due to the orange-in-a-glass effect.
I am not ruling out that the cup is also to deep for you and that you need a shallower cup. Hard to tell without having the 28DD Tease Me in the same colour for comparision.

some of those only go down to 30 bands (i WISH b. tempt'd had 28s) and my underbust is 27 :( and I'm slowly making my way through those lists!
