Issue resolved
just not the right fit
Original problem
I love this bra! I am curious if anyone else had problems with the gore digging in. It gives me a beautiful shape but it is just too uncomfortable to wear daily. Is there anything I can do to help? Do you think it is fitting ok? It wrinkles some but its mainly because I am fuller at the bottom.

helpfulhave you tried anything in a 28 band? your ribcage measurement and the fact that the band is riding up means the 30 is probably too big. wacoal doesn't do 28 bands though.
i'm not knowledgeable enough to point out exactly what problems the rest of the fit issues point to, but if the gore isn't touching and is uncomfortable, i don't think it's a proper fit for you. whether that's a size or a shape issue will have to come from someone with more experience than me.

oh, i also think i saw a comment or a post somewhere by someone else who said the wires on the gore came up too high, and she said she was going to grind it down with a dremel tool. i have no idea what's involved in that, but maybe you can look into that too!

helpfulI think just from the measurements the band seems right. If it rides up at the back it must be loose, though. Have you shortened the straps very much (impossible to see in your pictures!) ?
If the centre gore doesn't lie flat against the sternum, the cups could be too small for you (despite the wrinkles that could just be there because it isn't the right cut).
This cut isn't ideal for you, I guess. Half-cup bras with only vertical seams might work much better.Updated on March 3, 2013 Flag this

helpfulThe gore on the bra is to wide for you. Your breasts are very close together. So the gore sits on your left breast. I would suggest trying plunges like the Curvy Kate Tempt Me, the Freya Deco and the Lepel Fiore Padded Plunge to deal with that. If there is no gore, it cannot dig in.
I would also guess that your left breast is approx half a cupsize larger. You can see quadboob on the left side in the profile view from the left.
In addition the cup seems to be too deep, I think that you shortened the straps to deal with that. The horizontal seam points upwards. You need IMO very open cups so that the rim of the cup doesn't cut in.

I'm not really a of padded bras :( they all make me pop out of the cup. I would say I am just more bottom heavy with an unusal breast crease. You are right my breasts do come close together and I do think my left breast is bigger :) Thanks for the suggestion :) Even medium size breasts can h5ave a broad base.

if the gore is too wide for you you can maybe try altering it?
http://boobiusmaximus.livejournal.com/1474.html a text explanation of how to do it (the pictures are all broken, at least for me)
and you can see pictures of what it looks like here: http://brasihate.blogspot.com/2012/01/cleo-lucy-review.html
there's a little more discussion about it in the comments as well. taking in the gore could help shorten your band just a tad, too, which might help with the riding up? probably not by a whole lot, though.

Omg that was exactly what I was looking for :)

helpfulCan you explain that discomfort and where it is coming from? Also a back picture would be wonderful since looking at the back underarms and band tightness would be good information to have.
There might be a few reasons for that discomfort (bra cups pushing down on the top half of your breast, center gore, or the bra being too tight), but getting more information is better to make a quick judgement.

helpfulWacoal does have 28 band , they have UK bras.
Your ribcage is 27 ? The Retro runs big in the cups, that could be the wrinkling.
Check out other 30DD in Wacoal / Btemptd, or you can try 28 band if you want.http://www.wacoal-america.com/shop/wacoal-bras/facet-size_30DD/
Here are other 30DD bras.
I was fitted once and the sales lady used the Retro for the bra fitting- at that time a D was too small but the DD was too big.
Most of the time I would say the gore digging in is too small, but wrinkling of cups, it could be the bra.Updated on March 3, 2013 Flag this

;Yeahh! That is what I felt. The D was wayyyy to small and the DD fit but it was weird fitting. For some reason b'tempted bras are.too.small for me and Dillard's never has any 30 Es or Fs. :( their bras are so cute though! Thanks for you input :)

all the bras listed for 28 bands are from other companies, though? or are those subdivisions of wacoal?
-
Wacoal bought Eveden (the company originally behind Freya, Fantasie, Fauve, Elomi and Goddess) last year.
http://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/eveden-lingerie-company-sold-japans-170406141.html
Wacoal itself as a brand does not have 30 bands; but owns Freya. All 28 bands are Freya bras.

ohhhh, thanks so much. as you can probably guess, i've only just started into this bra quest quite recently, myself :]
-
Yes so have I Emmeth :) I am here if you have any questions. This my bra journey -> 34 A->34 B->32 C ->34 C -> 32 D -> 30 D-> 30 DD-> 28 F
The b'tempted brand is a off set brand of Wacoal and offers 30 band sizes but they are relatively smaller in cup sizes
-
thanks! :]
i went 34C --> 36B --> 34C --> 32D --> 32DD --> 30F (ish?)
still working out the kinks, but it seems to be going pretty well! got a bra coming in tomorrow, fingers crossed. i hope you can get this bra working for you or find one you like even better! -
Wacoal does have their own thirty bands, and when you on Wacoal site the size button shows UK and US sizes.
There is UK 30 and US 30 bands.Btemptd has 30 band to G cup
Wacoal has 30 band to F cup
30 C-DDD(F)
