Bra fitting help » Does this band look too tight?

Issue resolved
I am pleased that this is a correct fit even though the band looks tighter than it feels.
Original problem
I am not sure if the band on this is not too tight. I don't feel particularly constricted or anything though it is much tighter than my 32DDs that I have been wearing. However when I look at these photos it looks kind of crazy. Is that amount of indent normal? Also if there is anything else that looks weird in these photos please let me know, I am new to well fitting bras.

helpfulIt doesn't LOOK too tight at all, but does it feel uncomfortable or irritate your skin? This bra style looks great on you!

helpfulThis is what Lucy does. It has the least flattering band I ever saw in my life. I had the same question as you did so I web't up a bandsize in lucy - the band was naturally riding up but the indents were still there.
So this is as good as it gets.I do see tiniest bit of cutting in along the edge of the cup but nothing to worey.
However, if you start migrating breast tissue, this one might become too small very soon.
But remember you do have an option of taking in the gore that will free some space on the top if needed.
For the time beeing, this is a well fitting braUpdated on June 13, 2013 Flag this

helpfulThat degree of indentation looks totally fine in UK bras. What I'm saying is that UK bras (so far that I've tried and seen) often have a poor band construction, at least imo. The band itself is far too stretchy compared to the elastic edges of the band, both on the bottom and the top. What that does is creating a weird, non-consecutive tension. On those small strips of elastic the tension is much higher than in the middle of the band. It's kind of like the same thing as a skirt that's perfectly curve-hugging and not too tight at all in general, but with that dreaded super-tight elastic that's meant for your hips. The waist section is not too small for you, it CAN stretch to your hip measurement quite easily if someone tugged on it but because the elastic is sewn so poorly, it is too "strong" and squeezes more than it needs to automatically, cuz if your hips are soft the elastic is stronger than your fat. Haha, I hope you get what I mean. It's kinda hard sometimes describing something in English that I'd be able to describe in a heartbeat in Swedish without it sounding totally weird. In my experience, I get on much better with Swedish bras. The elastic strips are similar in stretch strength as the middle of the band, thus creating a smooth consecutive tension that won't make anything blob out in the middle (trapped fat inside the band that's convex) or get smushed outside in any kinda way.

helpfulI get the same look with a lot of bras. If your ribcage flares out a little at the bottom, it can exaggerate the look of the band digging in at the bottom edge. My ribs are the broadest right below where my band sits and it looks like bands are digging in badly even if they're too big. If it feels comfortable, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for the tip about taking in the gore.
