Issue resolved
I really like this bra too much to let it go, even if it is somewhat wrong.
Conclusion: Loose weight, see what happens.
Original problem
My question to all of you is - do I bother with a larger size?
I am not sure how Freya scales their cups, but here is why I am reluctant to try a larger size.- the gore of this bra will never sit flat on me. The wires are to weak to give the needed preasure and It is just too wide. It is resting on my breast tissue - I wonder how serious the problem is because the wire channels are verry much padded and the wires don't press at all.. They just sit there.
- you can see a bit of wrinkling at the tip of the cups (my nipple says hi! :blush This means that the bra is borderline too deep as it is and I am afraid it would get worse in a larger size.
- the cut of the bra doesn't allow volume where I have it most - top and center. It kind of flattens me out there and cuts in. Not sure if size up would help.
What I like:
It's crazy comfortable (Freya antoinette band AND straps!!!)
It's very lightweight, perfect for summer.
It has a great band, comfy and backfat minimizing
I quite like the perky natural profile it gives
I like how incases me from the bottom.
My armpits are free!!!So. Do I try a size up? What problems are likely to be solved in a size up and what are likely to get worse?
Is this the best size for me in this bra amd if so is it a keeper?

helpfulI'm no Freya expert so I'm just throwing in some thoughts:
About wires sitting on breast tissue: What was the longest timespan you have been wearing this bra?
From my experience you can wear a bra with wires sitting on breast tissue for some short time without discomfort (like me in SM Bezyk) but think about 12h work days?
Is it still comfy after many hours of wearing? Also I think this bra is rather made for full-on-bottom-side-heavy-deep boobs than center-heavy - full-on-top. The deepest part of the cups is not where you need the most volume.
The wrinkling probably gets worse in a bigger size. However if the bigger size fits better / and the wrinking is not noticable under t-shirts – ignore it.
Taking in the gore migh give more volume towards the center. I think 30HH cups would be a good fit if there was more volume allowed on top. In 30J - you might end up with too wide wires? Also the gore may float even more in a bigger cup size (bigger cup size = let the band „appear“ bigger too) and you get less support if the gore does not tack.
I'm saying this, because the gore on my 30HH Antoinette used to lie „flatter“ because of the super tight band than the gore on the 32H where the band was slightly loose. Although I agree – no Freya gore ever lied completely flat on me too. It's just the wires that are not stable enough to give proper support above a GG-cupUpdated on May 29, 2013 Flag this

You could exchange the wires with Panache wires in the same size.. though you'd need a bra to slaughter then.
But if you feel comfy & supported and no quadraboob visible, then just wear the bra and ignore the fit issues :) -
First: It looks perfect! If it's not visible under clothing, and if it's supportive and if it's comfortable then definitely keep it as is!
Also I love that bra, I had no idea it was so pretty. Does it have those super thick wires of the Lauren btw?
In the future I think you could experiment with three Freya sizes just for science; 30J, 28JJ and 30HH.

After 12 hours of wear the gore was 1,5 cm away from the sternum. Quadboob got a bit worse but still didn't show through shirt.
But I must say during the 12 hours of wear I didn't readjust once! O.o -
Vee I must say I got inspired by this. Very much so. A floating gore obviously doesn't say anything about how the bra really works.

helpfulIf it were me, I would switch the wires with wider wires. It's a beautiful bra and you wear it well. It looks like it could be worn under any type of clothing as well, which is hard to find in a bra! I'm relatively new to "sizing" stuff, but the first thing I saw when I looked at your picture was the underwires digging into your breast tissue. Since the bra is so nice in so many ways, it may be worth it to alter it by switching out the wires for wider ones. Even though I have some fit issues with Freya I've gotten "spoiled" by their quality and I've yet to find a brand that gives me nearly as much "uplift"., regardless of cup style. Some wasted time and money has convinced me that it's better for me to buy Freya bras and alter them a little/switch out their wires than to deal with continuous disappointment and frustration with other brands! (I like Panache's underwires a lot, and so far they are doing well in 2 of my Freya bras).

Where do you see this? Except in the middle obviously :)
-
Yes, the wires at the center gore look like they are on your tissue - if not sitting on tissue then definitely pressing into it. Maybe it's the shading I get on my monitor, though. I'm particularly sensitive to center gore issues because they're always intruding on my breasts.
I so only a teensy bit of wrinkling on the right cup...but it still appears to fit well (to me anyways...) :-)

Oh yes, the gore is on breast tissue, it's like 3 cm wide and I have like 3 mm space between my boobs :/
In this case there's nothing I can do about it, regardless of the size.
Btw If you have problems with gores, give Tutti rouge liliana a shot!

Today is the day I'm taking it on a 12-hour spin :)
6 hours, so far so good. I swear, I don't even know I'm wearing a bra.
That said, even though no visible quadboob is showing through clothes, the gore is now finger and a half away from the sternum.
I'm really not sure what to do here.
I tried to pinch the gore with hands - I get more volume on top and shape gets more centered, but the gore won't sit flat no matter what.
