Bra fitting help » What size should I be wearing?

Issue resolved
Excellent advice from some lovely ladies. I ordered an everyday bra and a sports bra that are the suggested size (or close depending on brand differences). Just waiting on them to arrive!
Original problem
This bra gives me horrible back pain. This one is a 32DD. I know the band is too big, but I am not sure what size I do need. The recommended bras I am shown are 28DDs, which sounds ok I guess since my ribcage is 25 inches. But how could I be a 28DD when I feel squashed in my 32DD? Suggestions? I am not sure if I just measured incorrectly or something.
As a note, my breasts do have a larger base and sit up close to my collarbone, so that may be adding to the problem.
EDIT: I added two pictures. For these, I had to tape my band so it was at least closer to what I need so I could get a better sense of how the cups really fit (thanks to someone's comments ). Now that there isn't tissue sticking out of the sides, I have some quadboob issues. Hope the added pictures help!

helpfulI would remeasure your perimeter if I were you It is more likely to be arround 25cm from what I see, which would give you better suggestions. I thibk 28 g/gg is a good starting point for you, and I think you should stalk devilangel if she lets you, because I think you are similar in shape and size, so the bras that work for her could be good on you too.

helpfulsmaller band, substantially larger cup. I agree w/ everyone else's recommendations at about a 28g. thebigbrabar.com (out of the UK) has listings for 26's as well. they're changing over to a few store, so they're clearancing out their old stock, so you might get some decent deals?

helpfulYou'll probably want to look into 28FF since 32DD is already squashing you a little. From you pictures is looks like it could be a cup size too small and several band sizes too big, but it's hard to be sure. You might even need a 28G because the large band changes the way the cup fits.

helpfulTake a look at this link
http://blog.butterflycollection.ca/2012/11/are-you-wearing-your-bra-too-low.html
I think you could benefit from lifting the cups. Yes, the band is too big (and that has to be fixed), but I think that you may experience that the cups are smaller than they actually are. Try hoiking the cups up just to see if that makes a difference
Edit: Here's the link I was looking for to begin with, I think it's better!
http://brasandbodyimage.wordpress.com/2012/09/05/putting-your-bra-on-properly/
See how much of a difference that makes? Be sure to really get the underwires to rest at your infra-mammary fold!I'm sure you're already aware of the swoop and scoop method, but here's a video post on how to do it if you're curious! http://prettynpetitej.blogspot.se/2013/03/too-big-band-and-my-way-of-swooping-and.html

When I looked that the link, it mentioned that the bra is too low if there is space in the bottom of the cup, which makes perfect sense.
Sorry, but I am not sure what you mean by hoiking the cups up. I want to try it, but not sure what to do. Help? :)

You can PM me and give me your e-mail, and then I'll send you a picture showing you what I mean? :)
-
Oh I forgot, the option of PM:ing isn't available for those who haven't reached a total of like 100 in reputation, I think. Hmm... Maybe you'll be able to answer a PM if I PM you? I'll try! :)

helpfulIt looks about 2 cup sizes too small for you at a guess, so I would suggest trying a 28G as a starting point

Someone summoned the genie? Woah OP you have fabulous boobs just because we are almost boob twin. Yes, I am being a narcissist this morning. :)
What's your measurement for:
Underbust snug - it's 25", yes?
Bust standing - ?
Bust leaning - ?
And yes, please listen to Vee and start trying on 28G bras (or else she will start nagging non stop until you finally try 28G. Hi Vee, I love you! ;P). The OP is full on bottom though, whereas I'm full on top. That's okay, I will notify you once I unprivate my profile page so that you can see which bras I have tried with success or not.
That said, I am in love with the pattern of the bra. Why can't Panache/Freya have these kinds of water colour flowery patterns?
p/s: Jj, can we start including measurements for underbust loose, snug, and supertight, and also bust standing, leaning, and lying on the back? I think it is much helpful than only having underbust, nips to neck, and breast perimeter measurements. :) :)
