Bra fitting help » Underwire and straps hurt.
Just Peachy » Trellis Non Padded Balconette (FIG-123511) » 32FF 32:8
Issue resolved
The band was very tight and I wore the bra too low.
I bought a bra extender and wore the bra higher. It is way better now!
Original problem
It is the first time I found bra with a cup that fits (I think). But the band is way too tight, the underwires dig into my ribs and the straps dig into my armpits.
Is the size wrong or the shape? Should I replace it for a 34F or get another 32FF?
Is it possible that 32FF is not my size?Any style suggestions are welcome

helpfulThere seems to be some migrated breast tissue under the band in the back.

helpfulIt looks like you might be wearing the bra a bit low, as I think there is wrinkling at the bottom of the cup. It would be great if you could pull the cup up so that the wire is sitting directly under your breast and take some more photos. Ignore this if I'm wrong and just seeing things! Other than that it looks like a fairly good fit. What does your underbust measure?

Hello! I indeed was wearing the bra too low. I think it is because the band is way too small. I uploaded some new pictures of me wearing it properly. My right boob starts a bit higher on my sternum, so there is no way a bra can be in the right height for me. But surely, the underwire does not hurt me now. The straps felt better, too.
My underbust is 80cm (31.5in) exhaling. I think I will try a band extender. -
Did the bra extender help?
-
I haven't tried it yet, I'll buy one tomorrow! I hope it will help, I love the cups!

The cups look good! Let us know how you go with the extender :) According to your measurements, a 32 band should be best for you but you might find yourself more comfortable in a 34 band in some styles, especially this one as it is tiny for a 32 if it only stretches to 30 inches! An extender is a good solution though as you will get a lot more life out of your bra as it stretches than if you had a 34 band to start with.

I got the extender and it is waaay more comfortable!! It is not perfect, but I'm very happy, it is the first bra I got on my real size! :D

helpfulOkay, so here goes!
(I was really busy last night)
I'd advice you to really thoroughly read through these posts (they're mine btw) because I genuinely believe that they would be able to help you.
1: Post about migrated breast tissue and pictures of my own mbt
http://prettynpetitej.blogspot.se/2013/03/my-boobs-migrated-breast-tissue.html2: More in-depth explanation of what migrated breast tissue really is and how it happens
http://prettynpetitej.blogspot.se/2013/03/further-explanation-on-mbt.html3: Showing the difference one can have in fit if you swoop and scoop vs. not doing it
http://prettynpetitej.blogspot.se/2013/03/importance-of-swooping-and-scooping-and.html4: I realized there weren't a lot of illustrations/videos of how to swoop and scoop properly, so I posted a video that shows you how to do it.
http://prettynpetitej.blogspot.se/2013/03/too-big-band-and-my-way-of-swooping-and.htmlOkay, so what I for a fact know about your fit issues with this bra is that it feels too tight. Have you tried it with an extender yet? If so, I'd be so happy if you could post new pictures of yourself wearing the bra; front shot, side shot, possibly angle shot and back shot. The fit of the whole bra can be changed when wearing another band size. I can almost bet my soul that you have some migrated breast tissue (or just breast tissue) near your armpit. You're more or less within a "normal" weight range, not fat by any means, so it's highly unlikely you just have random fat glands between your boob and your shoulder. There also seems to be quite a bit of migrated breast tissue beneath the band that I'm sure you would be able to migrate back with the right size bra, and the right style of bra. What you'll need to get it to migrate back is high wings and fairly high underwires, along with swooping and scooping each time you put on your bra of course, and whenever you notice you might have "fallen out of place".
I'd really like you to swoop and scoop as hard as you can, watch my video. It's better to overdo it than underdo it because if there is something to swoop and scoop, you'll get a hold of it. There's no such things as overdoing it really, because any kinda mallable back fat is likely migrated breast tissue. Oh, and one important thing, after you've swooped and scooped, make sure the straps are tightened enough because if they're not tight enough the boob tissue might slip out again much easier than if you'd tighten them enough. I'm almost certain you'll get quadraboob once you've swooped and scooped properly. Also, make sure the underwires are in the appropriate height, just below you infra-mammary fold.
PS. I wouldn't give Just Peachy another shot if I were you. I find the quality to be very poor and here's a post explaining why I think so: http://prettynpetitej.blogspot.se/2013/02/a-little-update.html . The strips of elastic on the bottom is horribly tight compared to the elasticity of the middle part of the band, actually, the strips of elastic at the bottom aren't only horribly tight compared to the middle part, it's horribly tight just on it's own too. DS.

Wow, thank you very much for this beautiful and informative blog!
I always thought that my back was "meaty" for no reason, my weight is normal for my body. There was a time a time I was very underweight and my doctor told me that my body has to be between 60-65kg in order to be considered normal and healthy and I am now 63kg.
I've always worn ill fitting bras. This is the first bra I buy after 3 or 4 years.
The last two years I was wearing tight camisoles and baggy clothes because I could not bear a bra on me (the bras I wore before were 32C or even B!!). I wish that those two years I went braless would make my mbt magically go where it is supposed to be!!
I wore my Just Peachy bra all day today with the extender, it was pretty much ok. It is not perfect, but I plan on keeping it because I seriously have no other to wear now and I have to wear something because I got a job. But I'll send back my other Just Peachy bra and take a long line Freya instead. I think that a long line bra will help me with mbt, what do you think?
Thank you so much for your response!!! -
Aww, you're welcome! :D It makes me so happy to hear you like my blog! It really motivates me to keep writing it when I hear these positive comments! :)
I think that's a pretty good idea :) It's better to have a bra that's actually wearable than something that is waaaaaay way off in the meantime. And oh, it looks so much more comfier with the extender! I'm happy you found Bratabase, hopefully you'll be wearing something a lot more comfier and more supportive soon, because us members here are very friendly and always keen to help. Just stalk the site for a few weeks and I'm sure you'll learn A LOT.
Did you try swooping and scooping (and making sure the straps were short enough) like I showed you how to in my video? :) What was the result, if so?
-
Yes keep writing it pleeease! :D
I tried it a lot, I managed to gather the fat under the armpit, but all this fat at my back kept going back after I moved a bit :(
That's why I thought of a long-line bra, it will apply pressure to that area so there will be no other place for the fat to go, except the cup! Plus, there is one on sale right now :P -
Sure will! :D
A tight enough band is definitely the way to go when re-migrating, but you are right, sometimes the right size is not enough :) Sometimes the mbt is so severe that you need something with higher wings (I'm not sure if you know all the bra terms, but the wings are the fabric just outside of the cups, the connecting fabric from the cups to the band). I definitely need higher wings than Freya or Cleo for example could provide in my size (I'm roughly a 28F or a 28FF)

I agree with irongirl. I have some other comments I'd like to say but I'm a bit busy right now as I'm about to go to the gym, and my internet is currently down on my computer (I'm using my phone, it has 3G connection). It would be kinda impractical and hard to give you the links I plan to do, so I'll come back later with my input :)
