Issue resolved
I'm sending this one back, just don't know what I'll get instead.
Original problem
Ordered this one, along with the Deco, 2 weeks ago before I learned about bra fitting.
Left boob shows tiny bit of quad boob in certain positions and not when just sitting.
The wires are a tad narrow I think. As usual I can work the 28 or the 30, I tried on a 28F in the shop much later on. The cup in the 28F was wide enough but I had too little boob tissue to fill out the top, by far.
So, should I keep it or should I exchange it for something else, if so... any suggestions? I ordered it at www.annadiva.nl

helpfulYou wrote: "The wires are a tad narrow I think." Are they wide enough for you, though, or do they lie on your breast tissue? If they do, even slightly, I'd say this isn't the right type of bra for you. Try Cleo or Panache balconettes. They have wider wires in this size range, and so it should also be easier for you to fill out the top in a size with wide enough wires. They're also cut more open at the top (especially Marcie), so less chance of quadboobing.
If you took your ribcage measurement tightly, I'd say a 30 band is probably tight enough as long as it stays in its place when you move, stretch up your arms, dance wildly (good posts about this here: http://www.brasihate.blogspot.de/).Updated on April 9, 2013 Flag this

28 bands then :-)
-
Very interesting blog post!! But yeah; +2 = 28 if I use tight measurement.

Snug is usually a measurement that is not "so that the tape doesn't drop". The loosest measurement for the underbust is when you hold the tape as loose as possible without it falling down and still touching your skin. Is that what you did for your "snug" measurement? Because I certainly wouldn't classify that as snug. Snug is when you pull a little bit harder than just "so that the tape doesn't drop", and tight (usually rip-the-tape tight, fully exhaled and using the strongest force you can to get the very minimum physical measurement of your underbust) is T-I-G-H-T O_o Straitjacket tight! How would you say you measured your underbust? Different from what I just said or the same way?
-
Ok, then 69 is 'loose'... 'Loose' was 69-70cms yesterday, 'tight' was 65 I think. I don't have much to squish.

helpfulI think you could definitely benefit from tightening the straps! See the gap between your chestwall and your shoulder? There shouldn't be a gap. I'd also like to see a back shot to see how the band fits you.

I'll try adjusting straps again... Not sure how I can take a pic from the back using my iphone though...
-
Position yourself in front of a mirror maybe, and take the pic over your shoulder.
You can check yourself if the band is straight, though, and if it stays in place when you move around. -
Added the back shot. I already have it on it's narrowest hook...
Interestingly that makes the wires broader so one size up would make the wires fit but I think I do need the 28 because this will stretch out if I'm already at the narrowest hook for it to fit. And changing the hook enhances the double boob left (right is fine, so technically triple boob?)
-
That's no good then. You definitely need a 28 band in this and a cup size up. I know that Freya bands run wide in the half cups, but (with my wide root shallow boobs) I have no experience with their balconettes.
Yeah, smaller bands are worn by a lot of girls with wide root boobs exactly to get this effect (broader wires, not quadboobing ;-)).

helpfulMaybe a 28E would work if the 28F had too much volume? You might not lose too much width between the two

Well, this one already has a bit too much volume on top in the right cup, so a 28E would have too much volume also, left has a tiny bit of quadroboob but less than half a cup worth
-
You should always pick a bra that fits your larger breast, and then just tighten the strap on the smaller breast a bit more (or use a pad if necessary).
-
Yes, I know. But if something is a teeny tiny bit too small, a size up often is too big. That was my point.
-
Or it's just not the right model of bra? In my experience it has been like this so far: As soon as I started quadboobing in one of my bras the next cup size up fit me.
-
Bad model, yes...

helpfulThe size is ok for a current bra fit and if you are satisfied with the height you are wearing your bra.
We would recommend wearing the bra slightly higher so it can capture a bit more breast tissue on the top of the chest and you will have a slightly straighter posture. If that is the case, then the cups won't be big enough since it is a just fit now. If you try this, you might want to have one cup size bigger.
We usually go a bit further than current bra fit if you do not mind. If we have offended in anyway, we apologize in advance. Please look at the first and last picture that you have submitted, it looks like you have migrated tissue around the armpit area and it looks like it has been there for a while (judging by the pictures). We can only make an educated guess with pictures and limited information but it looks like the migrated tissue has been there for a while because of the past ill fitted bras (too small cups for a long time). Some will tell you to get bigger cups and scoop it back to the cups but if the bras are not designed to hold the "scooped" tissue it will go back to the armpits. Try to find something that can hold that tissue after it is scooped if you want to fix the tissue around the armpits.
Again, if we have offended in anyway, we apologize. We just want to give a straightforward and honest advice, there's more to bra fitting, there's also bra design to take into account.
Thanks

Thanks for the comment. I don't really understand what 'slightly higher' means in this case? I have fairly low-starting boobs, and they're more sideways-facing so when you say this design is wrong: yes, that was my issue. Any tips for ones that might be better are welcome.
The 'fold' around my armpit area actually is the start of my pectoral muscle so I doubt that there's much to scoop there. A better bra would make that less obvious. And yes, that has been there for longer than I've had my breasts. Behind that there's some soft tissue which I can't scoop into anything (It feels like simple subcutaneous fat) and my breast itself starts slightly to the side. That's what I find without any bra on. Any 'migrated' tissue you may see in the pic is simply being pushed there NOW; which is why I posted this fit request. It bothers me, and it wasn't there before. I don't know if simpy wearing a too big band can cause breast tissue to migrate?
Despite hating that I have big breasts, I haven't been wearing too small cups often; in fact... most of the time I've been wearing all over too big bras... my breasts somehow got bigger recently. I hadn't come round to measuring old non-fitting bras, because I got tired after posting the ones I did which happened to be the small ones. The ones on here that are too small did fit a year ago, and the bikinis did fit 3 months ago. I didn't post the bunch of 32D's I tossed on the pile that's going to be taken to recylce. I only bought the smaller bras because the bigger ones were too big during part of my cycle, the difference is a lot smaller now that I'm on the pill. (which meant I had to wear the larger cups most of the time, but doesn't explain the recent growth)

Yeah thanks. They don't actually sit on breast tissue, they push my breast tissue in odd angles. Ribcage measurement is snug, not tight. Snug as in measured so that the tape doesn't drop. Tight is 66cm/26in.
