Bra fitting help » Cup too deep

Issue resolved
Thanks everyone. I will try some half cups and keep an eye out for the claudette, which looks great. I also took the cup in at the seam, so it fits pretty well now.
Original problem
This bra fits great everywhere except the cup is too deep for me! The top of the lace is smooth, the bottom of the cup is smooth, and the wire encases my breast , but I have folds of extra fabric just above the nipple along the seam between the cup and the lace. It fits well across the nipple.
I guess I just have very shallow boobs. My pecs are also relatively well-developed, so I think that contributes to the apparent shallowness of my boobs.
Part of the problem may also be that I have very firm boobs. It seems like the cup is designed to push some extra boob from the bottom of the cup and squish it into the top of the cup, kind of like a cakes-on-a-plate look. But I think my boobs are too hard for that too work. That extra space for redistributed boob just stays empty on me.
Any recommendations for very shallow boobs? I thought the Lucy was supposed to be good for shallow boobs, but it's not shallow enough for me.

helpfulUsually half-cups are good for shallow boobs. Most tend to be padded though, but the ones who make them are Freya, Ewa Michalak, Curvy Kate, Bravissimo, and Masquerade by Panache.
Ewa Michalak had a few unpadded halfcups for a while but they phased them out. You might be able to catch some in clearance in your size.

Actually that is normal for a lot of Cleo balconettes on wide root shallow boobs. Do these folds show under shirts? If not, and if the wires are wide enough for you, I'd wear the bra like this. My first Cleo George produced similar wrinkles in the thinner material at the top of the cups and those went away after I had worn it a few times.
The Lucy is considered to be a bit more "difficult" for shallow breasts, though, so maybe the Marcie would be a better fit.
Ewa Michalak also has unpadded plunges now (3DM, e.g. the Trefl) that will likely fit (Ewas are the exception to the "no plunges on wide root shallow breasts" rule).Updated on April 20, 2013 Flag this
