Issue resolved
going to a size I like
Original problem
HI all,
This is the Ciao Bella in a different color. Everyone thought the other fit me, but I am not sure on this one or the other anymore. My issue with this bra is evident if you look closely at picture three. There is slight band bulge towards my underarms. The band really feels too small but it looks ok and is not hard to fasten. The pink bra in this brand did not have the bulging at the sides and felt alot more comfortable. I have a 34DD but only in the PINK bra, not this one. Should I try a 34DD in this bra? I am really confused as to why the other Ciao bella worked and this doesnt. I will re-post the pic of the other bra in my profile to compare.

helpfulI am really not seeing the bulge you're seeing. The band looks great. It will stretch out in time, so you don't want to start with a loose band.
The front view of the bra is what concerns me. It looks like there is breast tissue escaping out the bottom on the sides. I didn't see that with the other color of this bra, so it kinda confuses me.
Have you actually tried the cup size up? A lot of times, I think the band is too tight and then I try the bra without putting the cups on and see that it feels fine and that the tightness was in the cups, either because the cup size was too small or there was something off with the cup shape. Anyways, if you haven't actually tried the cup size up, you can't know for sure if it's too big.

HI,
I tried the pink one on again and you are right Megstro,
that bra does not bulge at the band. this really confuses me, and that one doesnt feel tight either.RADIO
-
Oh ok. Yeah it seems odd. I've never tried b.tempted- I'm plus size so I actually can't...
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.
I would try something with a wider gore. It looks like the gore is tacking but I'm wondering if having a 34D or 34DD that is more wide-set would fit you better.
-
Huh that is super weird that the pink one worked... it looked much nicer. Maybe this one is a dud???
-
HI,
I am wondering if the pink one even fits. I did not get that bulge in the 36C in this color.I cannot find any wide-set bras. The ones suggested to me here dont come in anything smaller than a D, and the Curvy kate i tried was way too big in the D.
I put another pic up of me in the pink bra just now.Do you still feel that one works? It does feel better on me.

I feel like you're this shape- http://www.venusianglow.com/2012/09/small-breasts-with-broad-base.html
It has the Ciao Bella on here but has a ton of other bras and brands that go well with this shape. I hope this helps!
-
yes that is me, did you see the pic of me in the pink one
-
Yes, I saw the pink one. It looked better. Maybe this is just a dud? It's totally possible that if you got a different one in white it would fit like the pink one.
-
HI,
I feel a little better now, it does seem like the pink one fits. I got that one online and its no longer available in stores, so perhaps something has changed in the design of this bra, that the white might run different? I do know that black bras always seem to run small.

Hi RADIO10465
The pink version of this bra definitely fits you- it's probably that it runs slightly different in this colour- sometimes brands do this, they change the cut on a bra slightly between seasons but dont tell anyone which means the cutsomer gets really confused. Have you tried lying this bra on top of the other one to compare the cut?
-
HI Vintage,
Did you see the pic of me in the pink bra I put up tonight? I see a bit of pudge there as well but not as bad as the white one. I did lay the bra on top of the other and I cant see a difference, but, that does not meant there isnt one. At least the pink one works. That one I did get online so its possible the bra is an older yet never worn model. I am going to go ahead and post a fit request for the pink in 34DD to compare. May be I ought to try 34DD in the white? Let me know what you think when I post my 34DD pink request.
GOing up now thanks!

I can't find that picture sorry :/ and tbh - a tiny bit of fluff is not a sign of a bad fit - no bra is going to be perfect, so you have to take into consideration if what is right about the bra outweighs the problem with it. All I can say is that both the pink and white back views of this bra show a properly fitting band - there is no bulges and it is parallel to the floor and not overstretched.
-
HI,
Well if you saw the last fit request with the pic with my arms down and a front view, then you saw it. The bra honestly is too tight if I get down to it.

Part of me wonders whether or not this is because you are so used to a stretchy too big 38 band that this feels really small. I'm only say this because, usually, if a band is too small the straps and band make a U shape as the straps are stretched to accommodate a to small band- but in neither of these bras is this happening- it's a perfect right angle.
I know it's really frustrating for you but the simple fact is that the majority of pictures of you in a 36 band show a band that is too big - it rides up and will stretch out to become very unsupportive- maybe a 34 does initially feel on the small side, but once it's stretched it won't and you will get much more wear and support long term from the bra.
-
I guess it is just still that the cups and wires aren't wide enough, in which case there are no bras I can wear.
-
Please don't give up! There will be a bra out there that will fit!
The other thing I'd say is that you've been wearing horrendously fitting bras for years - so your tissue has been smooshed all over your torso- it may be that after a few weeks in the pink ciao bella your tissue will migrate further forward meaning your root will be slightly less wide and you'll be able to swoop more of that fluff into your cups. I know when I started wearing proper fitting bras my root became narrower and I got more projection- but it was a gradual and sometimes painful process - I felt like me bras were sawing me in half and like my wires were trying to crush my ribs - but after a month that feeling wasn't there and my boobs looked ten times better and I didn't have fluff that escaped under my arms and on my back.
So please don't give up- and please don't think you'll have to wear one bra forever- you shape may alter.
-
Hi
Should I go with the 34d ciao Bella pink one then?

thats how it feels like being cut in half

It's entirely up to you what you do, but all I'm saying is that you give it a chance- visually that 34D looks the best fit you have tried, and when you initially try the correct band- it does feel tiny! We've been conditioned into thinking that bra bands should be super stretchy and measure 4/6 inches more than our ribs, and when you wear a band that much too big, it does feel really bizarre when you put on a band that is the same size as your ribs - it's like someone who has been wearing sweatpants their entire life suddenly starting to wear skinny jeans, they will feel really uncomfortable and very very tight.
If you do feel like the bra is very tight around your ribs I would suggest a couple of strategys to deal with it:
1) break the bra in with an extender- so when you do start wearing it on the widest hook the elastic will have stretched out slightly.2) don't wear it for long periods of time at first- gradually build up to wearing it all day- it will give your body time to adjust to the band.
Again, it's entirely up to you and your comfort levels, but I would hate you to go back to the ill fitting 36B/Cs you have tried before, as the difference in how your entire figure looks in the 34 band is astounding.

Hi
Im not sure what to do. Just seems there are no bras for my body type that come in my size

Well in my opinion your wearing one in the 34D pink ciao bella. When you first go in to the correct band size it isn't comfortable, for the simple fact that your body isn't used to it. If the band in the pink bra was genuinely too small, it would be really hard to fasten, it would dig in all over the place and the straps would make a U shape. Also with that bra there is no evidence from your pictures that the underwires are sitting on breast tissue, or that there is empty space in the cups.
All new bras need breaking in, as they need time for the elastic to adapt to your body shape, which is why, as long as visually the fit looks this good, you really need to wear the bras for a couple of weeks and give it a chance before you make the decision that it doesn't fit.
Take care

HI,
Thanks for your help. I had someone tell me the 34DD looks better on me but it feels quite big in the cups. It does look better.Would the 34DD be ok to wear? I also stupidly bought this bra in red, 34D. Band feels ok but once again I get the front fit issues, and SnS does nothing to help. Would you be so kind as to look at the pics in red bra? Synchlover said when I first put up the 36C that the wires in this bra are too narrow for me and I think she is right. I heard that Betsey Johnson eyelet lace demi is good for my body type and the center gore looks wider. Might that be ok? Also, how much space in the cups is ok?

Hi Vintage,
I decided to try the cup test where if you put the cups on your back and the bra feels ok, then you are in the right band, etc. The band felt good so I agree with you, I am a 34 at least in this bra. The bra felt better with the cups on the back.
Now, I tried the 34DD again with lots of adjusting myself and honestly, that bra is not as big in the cups as I thought it would be.There is some space at the top, as in the pictures, but the bra does not stand away from my body on its own. I also noticed that the front looks much better. I think I can keep at it with this band size? The cups are a tad big but honestly its the 34D thats small. The bra overall feels alot better in 34DD.

A bit of empty space in the cup is not necessarily a bad thing- it makes allowances for hormonal fluctuations and times maybe in the summer when your carry slightly more water. If the 34DD is the most comfortable, then stick with it. I'm glad you did the band test when you wear the bra backwards- I was just about to post suggesting you did it. :)
HI,
That is what I meant by the bulge, and it wasnt visible with the other bra I think because my arms were up. A cup size up is too big,I did try it on.It wrinkles and I can fit half another breast in. Maybe this bra brand doesnt work for me either. I am so fed up. I think I am going to return this bra and give up forever on wearing them. It is really really getting old.
