Bra fitting help » slight wrinkling in cups, loose band
Freya » Untamed Plunge Balcony Bra (1291) » 34FF 34:8
Issue resolved
This bra is not the right shape for me.
Original problem
The band is a bit loose, fits properly on tightest hooks. Slight wrinkling in bottom of cups, are they not deep enough? But, top of cup is slightly gaping where it meets strap, and right along edge of lace.
Also, are the wires too wide? I feel like I have wide boobs, but a bit narrower in root than for this size of wire. Idk, this is my first time in a proper bra.

helpfulIs the band riding up? To be able to pull the band a mere two inches is fine (I learned this in the Curvy Kate fit video). The wrinkling could be just a shape issue, though trying a smaller cup is advisable.

I'm no expert, I avoid Freya because they have narrow wires/deep cup which is the oposite of what I need. Reading your other reviews I see you need narrow wires and shallower cup (FOB). You could exchange for a tighter band with the same cup (which will be smaller in the new band), and see how it goes. I usually order a smaller cup than my measurement because I don't have much upper fullness to fill most bra cuts (even though the shape is FOT). You can also search the site for a cup with less depth (the style balconette can be the same), and an average width that will suit you. It's a little work, but can avoid a lot of wrong purchases. Half cups usually have less depth. Full cups are probably the worst shape, lots of fabric to wrinkle at the top. Before you buy, you can also check if the band is "normal stretch or stretchy", and start to pay attention which category you prefer.

If you want to try Freya I would definitely just size down in band and size up in in cups everytime you order. I have been going with 36 bands and when I order Freya I order a 34 and so far (I've tried 4 Freya bras) the 34s have felt like the 36s in the other bras I've worn.
I don't think I'm qualified for any advice other than you can pretty safely size down in Freya bands.

helpfulI might be wrong, but the shape of this bra on you doesn't look very uplifting/supportive. You may be a bit top heavy for this style.
If you pull up the cups so that there's no wrinkling, your nipple will sit below the seam, what happens to the top of the cup? Can you tighten the straps a bit more? What happens when you stand up tall, with good posture, arms back? Is it too tight across the top of the cup?

I didn't think it was very uplifting either. The straps are already tight enough, they kinda press down on the top of my shoulders. If I pull the cup up, it looks alright at first, but then slides back down. I looked on ABraThatFits and saw some people suggested this meant the cup shape isn't right/not enough room in the bottom of the cup so the breast tissue pushes down to "find" room at the top.
I'm going to abandon this bra and try to find a different style that works better.
Thanks.

I am thinking the wrinkling is a shape issue because when I first scoop and swoop, everything fits in nicely, then it sort of slides down.
I've heard that Freya bands are loose/stretchier than other brands, that's why I was asking about the fit. It was already on tightest hooks. I just don't want to spend the money on a bra that is going to be too loose soon.
Any ideas on another bra that may be a better shape? I'd like to try a Freya because I've heard they are more comfortable than others. thanks.
