Original problem
I was really excited when I bought this bikini top. Now that I wore it, I'm very disappointed.
I'm usually a 28FF/G or 30F/FF in bras. I know that this was based on a CK bra and I checked my measurements and got a 32F hoping it would fit.
It doesn't at all. I can fit two finger width in the cup with my bigger boob. The wires are way too far apart. And the wings come up way too high and dig in.
To make it worse the size 8 bottoms are massive, even after I took the sides in.
I like the design and am now looking to buy another bikini, and want to know if I should just give up on Curvy Kate ones.
I'm looking at the Paradise and Horizon ones and think I might be able to fit into a 30E or a 32DD. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help out. Thanks!

helpfulSuch a cute suit!
Those cups look really big for you, and I think a lot of it has to do the with band size being too big. I have a couple of Freya bathing suits in 28D and two in 30D. The 28 band fits, but the cups are ridiculously small. The cups in the 30Ds are definitely bigger than the 28D. Definitely give the 30Es a try.
I have a Curvy Kate Daily Boost bra (28DD) and the sides are actually too short for me. The cups themselves go up high but the band is attached much lower on the sides of the cups. The wires, however, are definitely way way wider than my Freyas. (I need wide wires and tall sides).

I think you could with Curvy Kate. From what I've read here the bands are notoriously stretchy. My 28 band Daily Boost is stretchy to the point where I'm considering putting another band on the cups (I love the cups). I really prefer 30 bands (and I have a couple of 32Ds from Soma) but in Curvy Kate, band-wise, I'd be tempted to try a 26 band if it were available. The biggest problem for me (and alisa mentioned this as well) is the Curvy Kate bands stretch throughout the day, almost as if the cups are too heavy for the bands.
Have you had a chance to try any of Freya's bikinis with the "sweetheart" neckline? (for example: http://www.biggerbras.com/freya-big-cup-bras-swim/freya-swim-firefly-underwire-balcony-bikini-top-style-3542.shtml )
The cups on these aren't open at the tops like CK's, so if they're a little too big or small it's not as noticeable.

Sorry - I just noticed you wrote that you can't quite fill the bottoms of the cups on your Curvy Kate...in that case I hope, hope (fingers crossed) you get to try a Freya bikini.
Freya's bottoms usually run in S,M,L and they seem true to size. I got really confused with UK sizing (you may in be in the UK so you'd already know this, but I'm in USA). In underpants in UK sizing, from what I've read on Figleaves, an 8 is equal to a US 4, which is very small. I thought the bikini bottoms were sized like the underpants (knickers?) so I ordered a Freya in M to be on the "safe side". They were too big even to alter; I'd have had to remake them.
My first "bra sized" bathing suit top, ever, was the Freya Venetian Plunge, when I had no idea what I was doing about sizing. I ordered 28D. Since then I've learned that plunges are not my friends and 28D is way too small.
I can safely say this was the only time in my life the bottoms were too big and the top was too small!
However, I also learned that the "sweetheart" neckline in bikini tops is a great style for me. I have the Belasco suit. The bottoms of the cups are shaped almost like "side support" cups, so they lift from below the breasts and they have no room on the bottoms. With your Caribbean Curves top the distance between the cups is probably caused by the band being too big.

One cannot compare a CK Bra band with a bikini band. I agree, the Daily boosts band is terrible like more or less all CK bra bands it stretches out extremly. But I found the bands of the bikinis to be quite stable and true to size.
Old CK cut, namely this Curvy Kate Bondi Breeze (CS2001), Curvy Kate Rio Ruffle Bikini Top (CS3001) and Curvy Kate Caribbean Curves Balcony Bikini Top (CS4001) run like 2 cup sizes big.
All old cut bikini have : very tall wings, tall and wide wires, low center gore, cups are very tall- wide and shallow all over.
Curvy Kate changed the cut on new SS13 bikinis. Horizon and Paradise therefore have lower wings, lower wires, narrower wires and deeper cups.
I tried both cuts myself. The new cut runs rather „true to size“.
I can wear a 32J in Bondi Breeze, and the new Pebble in 32JJ was much too small on me! I'd need at least a 32K in new cut.
About Freya, I like to ping Vee , she knows her Freya bikinis :D -
I'm selling the top and just bought a 32DD top, I hope it fits when it comes, though I really HATE that the wings are high. I'm thinking about getting a Freya next year. I can't really justify it this year. I raelly like Freya bras, nice thick straps.
I kind of get UK sizings. I'm in Asia. In the US, I've tried some underwear in small and it's huge. Tried some stuff in large and it fits. I guess it depends on the bra.

helpfulPart of this is probably because of sister sizing. Wires are often wider in higher bands when retaining cup volume, just because of assumptions of where the breast tissue will lie. Part of this is CK.

So if I went to a 30E it would be ok? Or are CK bands always like this?
-
I don't know. I think the wires will be narrower in the 30E but they will still be wide wires, relative to say, Freya.

What about Fantasie?

helpfulIt's just too big then. All of these dimensions are too big, so size down. How does the band feel? Just looking you can go two volumes down to 32DD. Does it feel supportive?

It's a big loose, but I've been told bikinis should be a bit looser than bras. Just when I think I find my size :/`

So you think I could fit into a 28 band bikini? I'll have to see if I can get a 30E.
