Original problem
The center gore digs painfully into my sternum after just a little while of wear and I have a lot of wrinkling on both sides. This bra is at least 2 cups size larger than all of the bras I own, which are Cacique bras in 38F, and the wires on this bra cut into my breast tissue on the side. Should I go up another size or so or is this bra just a bad cut for me? Plus the band kept rolling in on itself and that drove me nuts, but I love that it gives such good forward projection and rounded lift.

helpfulI think there's two options.
1) You haven't swooped and scooped (or not swooped and scooped properly)
2) You unfortunately overshot your size (which is very easy to do since so many bras differ in size even though the tags state the same size) and the cups are too big.If you in fact have swooped and scooped properly, I'm not too sure how many cup sizes you should go down. Maybe one? Maybe two? I actually have no clue. I'm hoping someone else has better suggestions.

helpfulYou are filling out the lower cup just fine in this bra; having a loose upper cup is not uncommon. I think this bra is just not suited well to your shape. If the wires weren't cutting in to your breast tissue on the sides then I would recommend the Cleo Lucy (5851) , which is a similar cut to this bra except with a tighter upper panel.
Since this bra is too narrow in the wires, however, you will want to stick to brands like Panache and Elomi. The Panache Jasmine (6951) and Panache Andorra Full Cup (5675) could be a good place to start. Curvy Kate bras also have wide wires, but they're well suited to breasts which are significantly fuller above the nipple relative to below. You might have some luck with the Curvy Kate Emily (CK5001) , but I don't have first hand experience with that bra to say for sure.
You might also try to check how much extra wire width you need and use Bratabase's advanced search to find bras with this bra's cup width + the amount more you need.

helpfulI wear a 36GG in Freya & a 38G in Cacique. I have the Cleo Lucy in a 38G that fits very well, & gives me a perfect, rounded orb shape....& is so uncomfortable I cannot wear it. It is eBay bound. I think it is simply incompatible with your shape, especially if it is digging in on the sides since Cleo is wider in the cups. you should consider giving up on Cleo as a brand. I'm thinking Elomi might be a better bet. Elomi Betty or Hermione have wider cups & less room in the top & center are where you may not need it.
If you really want to stick with Panache, the Jasmine or Melody might be worth a try, though I'm not a fan of the brand's higher wires. I need a medium/wide-ish wire, & Freya Jolie is my most comfy fit to date. As a brand Freya has looser bands, lower wires, wider softer straps, & 3 hooks. I love Cleo's rounded shape, but they're just not comfy for me. Elomi gives a round compact shape, & has very wide wires, so very side-boob friendly. They're actually -too- wide for me but the Hermione (made of spacer foam) makes a great T-shirt bra so I wear it anyway. Hope this helps you a bit.

I have not found that to be accurate. i have lived in the UK as well as the US, & own 6 Caciques, 12 Freyas, 3 Curvy Kates, 5 Wacoals, 8 Lunaires, 4 Anita's, 3 Elomi, 3 Natori, & another dozen assorted Panache, Fantasie, Triumph, Marks & Spencer, Fauve & Lepel. I own many sizes ranging from 36F - 40GG. So that's the basis for my opinion. Of course your mileage may vary & if you happen to have experience with many more brands & sizes than these, you may have formed a different opinion.
U.S. cup sizes simply do not equate to the British system in my experience. U.S. cup sizes do not include FF or GG for e.g, A US DDD tends to be a lot bigger than a UK E. As a Freya rep put it, UK cups are a 'more specific fit' & the size range contains many more incremental cup sizes than a US brand.

helpfuli don't think that the underwires are properly sitting underneath your breasts, especially on the left side.
Reach into your bra, pull up your boob with one hand and then with your other hand, pull the bra up so that it sits on the fold under your boobs. Your boob should Not be touching your skin over your ribs when you are wearing a bra!
As for the gore, try a plunge with lower central part.

A 38G in Cacique is equivalent to a 38FF UK. I'm a bit concerned about the sizes you're quoting here.
