Issue resolved
HI,
Just the wrong style of bra for me. Returning it!
Original problem
HI all,
My question is does this fit, as always. I tried on many 36c bras as I was busting out of my 36Bs, as you all know, but while the 36C helped my cup issue, the band still felt tight and I was still bulging under the band, but the cup size felt better. So I went up to a 38B, thinking I would avoid band bulge, but as you can see in the pic I still have it. I can also fasten this on the second hook right away. I am in the US and dont have access to all the fancy brands that are suggested. Would a 36C be better in this? i am at a loss for a bra that will fit me.I will say the cup on this feels better though. On a 36 I seem to have to have the straps loosened all the way, yet the 38 band feels loose and I have to tighten straps. Perhaps I need a 36C with a wider band than what this bra has? Also, how high up am I supposed to wear a bra? I heard that I wear mine too low?

helpfulI think it would be useful to see how much you can pull this band out from the back, if you could add those pictures I think it would be better to help access if you are better in 36 or 38 for this bra. According to measurements though, you are a 36 and probably have the capability of wearing 34's.
However, looking at the pictures it seems like you have the straps almost loosened all the way because you don't want the weight of your breasts on your shoulders? If you were to tighten it, would it ride up in the back? If it does you need a band size down. Also by tightening it, your breasts should fill out the top of the cups better.I think you would benefit from having a wider band too. That particular bra does not look like it's doing much for your breasts and I think it would look more flattering on you to have a wide band.

Hi Noob,
I added a pic with me pulling back the band. I have it hooked on the loosest setting and can only go maybe three fingers back with it, and I cannot comfortably hook the bra tighter. I also tightened the straps and it helped greatly with the cups. There is no gaping now. I think I may be on track with the size in this bra, but maybe a wider style band is a better way to go, but right now I am just trying to get the size right. I have another bra in 36C i am going to ask for help on tonight which I feel fits better than this and would appreciate your help?
Thanks so much

Hey Radio! It looks like the band size is fine on this particular bra, but then again it looks like it runs tight for a 38 since it only stretches to 36 inches. I think a standard 36 should be pretty comfortable for you, tight 38's and loose/stretchy 34's. I'm not able to see the front now that you've tightened the straps, but if the gaping is gone, then you have something that's not a bad fit. I will take a look at your other fitting help later when you post it :)

Hi and thank you!
I tried to take a pic of the front with the straps tightened and it didnt turn out. I will get one up though, so you can see. The bra is fairly uncomfortable but I think that may be due to the underwires. It is a cheap bra . I will also get some pics up of myself in the other bra. Its a size smaller and flat only measure about 27 inches, yet stretches out to 36. The bra looks good in the front like this one does, but also isnt flattering in the back. I do have that backfat without a bra which is supposedly migrated tissue. I am working on that by scooping and swooping, etc, but in the meanwhile while I realize my bra size might change, i do need to find one that fits me the way I am now. I thank you for helping me and everyone else here too, thanks for listening to me. Will post other bra tomorrow. This bra does seem to run smaller in the band. I have one Lily Of France in 36B that fits in the band but is small in cup, but the band is bigger.

Hi noob,
I just posted a pic of me in this bra with the straps adjusted. In this bra I think i am def 38B, but its sorta uncomfortable. Going to post my two other fit requests in a bit and ask for your help?

In the same size, or perhaps 36C? I do need something with more like a demi cup I think.
-
If band bulge is your problem, going down a band size is probably not a good idea :P I suggest getting a different style in the size you're wearing now then go from there :)
-
make sure you are scooping and swooping really well (and aggressively if you want to get rid of some bulge) cuz it could be migrated tissue causing part of the problem. :)

helpfulto wear a bra at the approrpiate height for you the underwire should be resting right below your breast root but not on any tissue. if there is gaping space at the bottom of the cup either 1. the cup is the wrong style and you're full on top or 2. the bra is too low and needs to be pulled higher.
i think part of your fitting problems could be solved with scooping and swooping as well as figuring out if you're narrow root vs wide and full on top vs full on bottom. then looking for bras that fit those categories. if you need help determining that there is a lot of good information on the web or let me know and i can find some of the resources i used. once i figured that information out and got some bras that fit well for my chest type i was in bra heaven and it made the world of difference!

HI,
I am definetly wide-root. I am working with scooping and swooping, which is working already I think. I actually dont get any gaping in this cup, I feel the cup fits I am just not happy with this particular bra. Right now im just trying to figure out cup, band and possible brands I can wear. My breasts are shallow also. If I pulled the bra any higher the underwire would be on my boobs. You are right that the cup is the wrong style as my breasts supposedly need balconette or demi, but there is no space in these cups. If it had a wider band and no underwires it would work. Not sure if this bra is resting on tissue? The ones in my other fit requests did.

audi,
Would you know of any American brands that would be good for wider root, shallow breasts in balconette style? One thing I am learning is that I do seem to be one band size like a 38 in one brand, but a 36 in another, yet I measure about 34.5. Seems I am a C cup in some bras yet B in others too depending on band,
-
Awesome, glad to hear that you SnS :)
If what you're telling me is true about pulling the bra higher - then the bra is sitting at the right place for you! Everyone is unique.
Do you have full on top breasts then?

there is some info to help you out if you do, from what you're saying about needing balconettes or demis that usually means full on top breasts so that it is open enough and does not cause quad-boob effects. -

let me get back to you on some good American brands - I always forget which are American and which are European. haha. you could also make a bra adventure asking everyone if they know of any. That could get you a lot of responses about which brands to look into

HI Audi,
Thank you for your help. If you take a look at my profile you will see other bras I had asked for help on, and it seems this one is much closer. I think the cups could be small in this bra but a cup up would be too big. My breasts are sort of equal on top and bottom it seems, but most ladies here tell me they are shallow. They are very wide root. Herroom told me that for wide root shallow breasts to try demi or balconette, as some others have on here. I also thought since usually the top of the bra cups have access fabric, that full-cup bras arent best but I dont know. This bra isnt totally full which I think might be why the cup works better on this bra than the others I asked for help one. My other active fit request the cups are ok too and that isnt a full cup. Will think about doing a bra adventure! On my other fit requests I was told about all kinds of brands to try, but none come below a D cup and are all British .
-
Why does it have to be an American brand? Most American brand size charts seem to think that women can't possible have bigger cup sizes than DD. European brands are better in this sense because of their more versatile size range, both cup and band, and also more unified size markings. You can also order European brands from online bra shops, so that shouldn't be an issue either.
-
it wouldnt have to be if anyone can tell me a brand that has 36C or so. Most brands suggested to me start at a D cup and right now anyway, I am not. Even with scooping and swooping I usually cant fill out a C.

How much is your overbust measurement? Try to measure it in three different ways without a bra (laying down, standing and bending forward), this picture might help -> http://i.imgur.com/odd5NuI.png
-
HI,
My overbust measurement is only 36-37.
-
Just to make sure - 36 is your OVERbust measurement, not UNDERbust?
-
Hi lupinesse,
Its more 37 overbust, underbust is 34-35, mostly 35.
-
True & Co seems to be US shop catering to your size, have you checked them out? https://trueandco.com/

HI,
If you wouldnt mind to take a look at my profile, I have two bras on there that were from that company. They were a miserable failure. They are the True push up and ongossamer. Would be interested to know how you would size me in those. I wanted to try 36C in those bras and they wouldnt let me . They said 38B. So I didnt go any further with them.I am thinking though that the 38B might not be bad in those two?
-
HI,
I have a double-shift today but will get those extra pictures up soon. I got this bra cheap but do have the ability to return it which is why the tags are still on it.You are right, according to measurements I should be able to wear even a 34, but those bands wont close on me .
I had the straps loosened quite a bit, but mostly for band comfort. On a 36, I cannot wear it unless the straps are loosened all the way, which is another reason I think I am a 38 .If I were to tighten this bra no, it would not ride up. I never have had a band ride up, and I was told that its because my breasts are small and dont have the weight to pull the band down, which is why I can sometimes wear a band that is too large and be unaware the band is too big. I can fasten this on the second setting, this 38.
Most stores here only sell 4-5 brands of bras which adds to the difficulty. I have wide-set, shallow, perky, self-supporting breasts. all of which makes it impossible to find a bra, yet I need one because even though they self-support, it becomes obvious to all the world when I dont wear a bra.
