Issue resolved
Try a 30 band, and probably bigger cup. Also try different shape!
Original problem
So this is one of the oldest bras I own, and it's one that I always seem to go back to after failed new bras. It's always been my comfiest and best fit, but since coming on here I've noticed folds on the bottom... I'm not sure how long they've been there, but I don't think it's due to age? What could it mean? On the middle hook because I've had it so long now!
I did include better photos of the folded bits but they don't seem to have been approved!

helpfulwhen you take the bra off, do the marks it leaves behind rest immediately below your breasts? it may be that your breasts are too large for the cups and are pushing the wires down, leaving a gap that can fold over. that'd also be made worse by a too loose band, i think.
i'm a little confused about the bust perimeter in the bra measurements - is that your bust measurement? or is that some measurement of the bra itself? if your bust measurement is 34.5 and your ribcage is 30" around you may find a 30D or DD would work better.

You should always take your measurements without any shirt of bra on. Also, the red marks should be right under your breast, so you're wearing the wires too low right now.

it's possible that if your ribcage isn't covered by much padding that a 30 band would be uncomfortable. if you pull the bra up and it's digging in you should definitely at least go up a cupsize, though. i'd say probably try a 30DD and a 32D at least. a 32D will be easier to find for certain :] if you try one of those on and the band doesn't move around when you lift your arms etc then that will probably work fine

helpfulThat's just space between boob and wire. Try moving the entire bra up half an inch!

Hmm i did and now it just feels too high. The cups go into my armpits then and start to fold over. Different shape then?

Yes, perhaps. Perhaps your boobs have changed, that happens too. Or the bra is getting worn. But if it doesn't bother, it doesn't bother.
My Panache procelain strapless has that fold too, but it also has it when lying flat on the table with no boob in it...

helpfulIt's hard to say...If you look at the models on sights like "Figleaves" or "Bravissimo" you can see many of them have that same "fold" in their bras. I notice it on me when I wear "moulded" bras. I have a Panache Porcelain T-shirt bra (that is now way too small), but I still get that "fold" look where the cup covers the underwires. The cups are more than full - in this case it must be caused by the way they're stitched.
I'm pretty new here, so I know enough to be dangerous...Your shape looks a little like mine, and I wore a 32C/B back when I hadn't a clue there were more band size choices. I may be waaaaayyy off here, but, to me, the straps on your bra look like they're a little bit too far apart for you, and the cups look like they may be too small... Do the straps pinch you under the arms? Also, the sides of your cups (to me) look as though they should be higher, and the cups look like they need to be wider. Possibly you're getting the wrinkles in the cups because your breasts are stretching out the underwires and tugging on the fabric. I suspect they're allowing tissue to escape to your armpits and I don't want to happen to you what happened to me...Underarms boobs. Yuck.
I have "wide root" breasts as well, and when it comes to cup sizing, I think they're a bit of a bane. It's hard to imagine myself as a "double D" because I've always considered myself more or less "flat". When measured, it turns out I need way bigger cups than I'd ever imagined without having major surgery, and it's mostly because of the wide root. I had never worn cups that actually enclosed all my breast tissue, so it got pushed all over the place. Over the last couple of months this tissue, returning from migration, has caused me to need even larger cups. (I still have some underarm boob if I'm not careful, but it is truly disappearing...faster than I thought possible.)
So - if you get a chance, try a 30D/DD or even a 28DD to see if that helps with the digging straps.

I don't feel like i can scoop anything more forward! The cups weren't digging into my armpit, but it turns out i'm wearing it too low. When i pull it up it does dig in my armpits. As i said above, i've tried a 30 band before and it was nowhere near big enough. It kind of put me off that size. I'll have to try some shops to try more 30s on!

helpfulA number of things can be causing this issue:
- it's a molded cup and is just wearing out
- the wires were always too low on you - when you pull it up, is it poking literal armpit or just below it? Literal armpit suggests too tall wires (Wire Length), or maybe the side wings (Wing Height) are too big for your shape. If you are shorter this is a common problem, keep an eye out for those measurements on bras and seek out lower cuts. Sometimes going down a cup size can help with this
- Your breasts need a deeper cup (Cup Depth) and/or narrower wire (Wire Width) than what the bra is providing, so your breasts get angry and shove the bra downward because they need more space. This happens to me a lot, going up in cups helps the problem and the more I try the closer I get - BUT a lot of bras in the next size up end up being too wide wired, bane of my existence. A lot of times a combo of going down a band plus up a cup size or two helps if you are having a problem getting enough cup depth. Here's a quick way to tell if this is your issue- put the bra on, don't swoop/scoop. Is the wrinkle still there? If the wrinkle only shows up when fully scooped, bingo!
- The wires at the very bottom, and only the very bottom, do not exactly align to your shape, so they don't line up 100% correctly. Especially common if only one boob is making the wrinkle, it just means one boob has a taller root than the other one.

Err no, it's a little below my breasts actually. That measurement is my wearing the bra - it's what the instructions said to measure. I've tried a 30 before but there was like an inmch between the two ends that i couldn't get together to fasten! Maybe i need to try some more!
