Bra fitting help » I can't seem to figure out my starting size?

Issue resolved
Thank you everyone for the feedback!
I've ordered myself a new bra in 30E, as I've been wearing a 34 band and a 28 would probably feel ridiculously tight to start with. So hopefully it'll work out and I'll get a good fit.
Original problem
So, I was wearing a 34A up until about 3 months ago. I realized this really did not fit me and sized up to a 34C. The cup still seems too small for me, or maybe it's just the cut of the bra that's not right for me?
Only after all this did I decide to do my research on bra fitting (d'oh), and figured out I should be wearing a much smaller band size ( I measure 27 inches for back, and 33 inches around bust)and probably a bigger cup size, but none of these sizes are available to me to try on, so online shopping is my only option. However, I don't know what sizes I should even be trying on to begin with. Considering the C cup was too small to begin with, should I start sizing from a D, or should I just start counting from the ill fitting C cup? I figured that, with a 28 band, I would be somewhere between an E or an F right? After trying some online calculators, which have put me anywhere from a 28G to a 28E or a 30F/FF, I'm massively confused and in need of guidance right now.
Thanks <3

helpfulDeja vu! I was in the same situation. The bra in your picture on you looks like my Panache Porcelain on me. And I thought the Panache Porcelain has been a great fit...till I asked for advice here
I don't think there's a store in the American Southwest or Pacific regions that has ever heard of a 28 band, (at least not any I've found over the past few months) so it's been completely impossible for me to "try before buying." Search around on this site, Amazon, Figleaves Outlet, or even Ebay, and purchase a couple of inexpensive bras with way smaller bands and way bigger cups. My "first" trial was a purple Panache Andorra that I got for $10.00, in a size 28D. I fully expected to laugh at my own delusions when I put it on, and I was totally shocked when it turned out to be too small. I thought maybe I bought a defective bra. I had my husband look at it on me, and when I told him the size he busted up laughing.
Sometimes I suspect he sneaks into my bra drawers to check the labels, because he still doesn't quite believe his wife is a DD (something regularly associated with Dolly Parton, Anna Nicole Smith, and Jessica Rabbit)...or E (I never dreamed there was any such thing as an "E" cup...)
My ribcage is 27.5, breast perimeter is 8, and nip to neck is 7, and the last bra I purchased is an E cup! So don't be afraid of the "D". It's not at all what we've been programmed to think it is.

helpfulI have similar measurements. But I have a smaller underbust. You seem to be fairly low - fat, so I'd actually suggest not trying a snug 28 to begin with as it will probably feel uncomfortable. I wear a 28F. Because you have less than average to squish, a tight underband will press against your ribs and muscle and this can be painful. That is my experience. I'd suggest trying to get your hands on listed bras, that's cheaper. Try a 30E, (this might work for a skinny 27in) and a 28F, to see what works best. But before doing so, have a critical look at your naked breasts to determine their shape, then check the reviews of the bra you're ordering to see if its the right shape. Bra fitting is not about the rules, it's about the comfort. According to the rules I'm a 26 band, but due to the skinny factor there is no way I'm wearing that!! 28 bands work great (unless they're strapless).

Maybe the bras in this list will be the right cut for you: http://www.bratabase.com/profile/65y/adventures/1530/
The one you're wearing here does not seem right to me, because its cups seem to be fairly closed at the top.
I second the idea to start out with a 30 band if you took your ribcage measurement as tightly as possible (and exhaled).

helpfulI would try a 28F, my sizing is entirely different from yours but your shape looks like http://windiegardie.wordpress.com/2013/03/14/freya-just-flew-in-longline-bra-reviewed/ but perhaps slightly less projection and more full on top. I would try a half cup in a 28f (maybe from masquerage because they have tight bands and your ribcage is slightly below 28 inches). check out belle-lingerie.co.uk.

helpfulI agree with the other posters, 28F might be a good place to start. http://www.brastop.com is a good online store with lots of selection and international shipping.

helpfulSince people have already suggested size, may I suggest style ? You definitely need straps closer together. Try a plunge bra (one with a shorter center gore). Those tend to have closer straps

helpfulI would try the freya deco in a 28E as the cops run large. It is also a plunge bra.
