Bra fitting help » Bigger cup??
Cleo » Cara Balconnet Underwire Bra (7101) » 28F 28:7
Issue resolved
Bra (and matching panties) are going back to where they came from. This may seem like it kind of fits and looks pretty; but given that the band IS rather stretchy the joy won't last past the first day of wear.
Original problem
It seems to fit alright. When I first put it on, it seemed like I had some skin folding under my armpits, (not counting my pec fold) then I pulled the bra a bit lower and scooped and moved a bit. It seems to fit, but just. Wires are the minimum width for me, and I only get quad boob when more or less attempting a back bend bridge. I just wonder if I'd be better of with an FF next time? Or maybe this is just how it's supposed to work?

helpfulTo me it looks like the band on this one is too big. It is riding up slightly and the measurements of the bra looks very big compared to your measurements. So, to start with you probably need a 26-band in this one. (Which isn't strange as all the bras in this cut tends to run a bit big in the band).
Now, when the band is too big it won't stretch the cups as much as normal tension would do. Because of that they would seem narrower and deeper than they would if the band fitted you. As you look like you just about fit into it, I would say that with the right band size you could most likely do with a cup size up. That would put you at a 26G in this model.
if you really like the shape I would suggest seeing if you can find a Cleo Sadie Longline (5897)](model:3303) in a 28F or 28FF to try on. The cups are the same on it, but the band tends to be a bit less stretchy, and, the longeline part usually makes it less likely to ride up even if the band is a touch big.
Otherwise you might also want to try the unpadded Cleo bras that run tighter in the back, like Cleo Zia Balconnet (6851) or Cleo Natasha Balconnet (6841) , though I think that the looser upper-section of the Cleo Marcie (6831) probably would be a better fit on you.

Maybe just learn how to shorten bands? It's not all that hard. Hagane is really good at it - maybe look her up?

I probably will at some point. I'm just not a good seamstress, and do not own a sewing machine.

Ok, am 'exchanging' it for the Zia.

helpfulDo you see quadboobing when you fold the lace to the outside (over the cups)? I ask because this lace is quite good at hiding quad boob, and because that was how I noticed I had to size up in the "Juna-style" Cleos. Another question is how does it look under a tight shirt - this might also "disclose" quadboobing if it's there.
Just going by your pictures, I'd say it looks really good on you .Updated on May 21, 2013 Flag this

Thanks! Unfortunately looks deceive... I did actually check the lace. And I just tried it on again, and jumped, and it just doesn't work, and now I'm sad.

:-( - There's tons of nice, tight-banded bras out there for you, though :-).

Yeah. I know. But this one is pretty, lol...
But I clothe myself by the following rule:
Comfort AND class.Just like I won't wear too high heels just for the sake of beauty, I won't be pulling at my bra all day just for the sake of beauty.
(I actually CAN walk on really high heels, I simply choose not to because I have better things to do in life)

See I can't, and I've already had two similar bra disappointments this year: I love the looks of the Cleo Bella and the Ewa Michalak Ptys, but I'm between sizes in the first and the second isn't available anymore in the size I'd need.
So I can understand your sadness, but your attitude is very sensible!

The band IS lose. You're right. That's the amount of riding up I'd accept at the end of the day.... and it's definitely wider than any 28 band I own. I'm going to send it back and cry, I think... I wanted to exchange it for a 28FF... but the band won't let me.
It's just so pretty...
The thing is, I ordered it because the measurements seemed similar to my La Senza http://www.bratabase.com/bra/dhvih/... The La Senza is a good fit, but probably was labelled wrong. I've been trying to figure out what the difference is between the two. The La Senza seems to portrude more, and is meant to cover less boob I think; the Cleo definitely has it's most forward point lower in the cup and seems to be meant to cover more boob meat than it does on me.
Oh well.
