Bra fitting help » How many cups sizes up for EM? Might their 'S' bras work for my shape?
Ewa Michalak » Pl Stalówka (328) » 80GG 36:10
Issue resolved
Thanks for the help everyone, I just ordered an 85GG S Szykuś (sister size to the recc'd 80H since after trying on the 80 band again and gaining a little bit of weight, I think the next band up will be more comfy but still firm enough)-- fingers crossed! If I'm allowed to add to closed fit requests I'll update this when it arrives for future reference.
---Edited in regards to the 85GG S Szykuś:
Good: This bra fits *perfectly* in the cup. This is exactly the right volume, no tiny gap near the strap even! Crazy awesome amounts of uplift, very forward projecting. Really nice cleavage but not the 'smushed together' kind (yay!)
Not Great: I wish I'd stuck with the 80 band instead of sizing up in the band to 85! Still a great amount of uplift and doesn't compromise the support too much, BUT it does ride up and even after wearing it as loose as I could stand, I've eventually maxed out all 4 of the hooks and am on the tightest one The underwires are also a smidge too tall for me under the arms and poke when my arms are down, especially when sitting for long periods of time.
This is seriously my perfect bra if I'd ordered the correct band size and the underwires were a little bit shorter. It's definitely my go-to 'I want my boobs to look damn amazing' bra regardless of the issues!!
Original problem
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me! I really appreciate it.
I got this bra through a listing here, knowing it would probably be too small in the cup but wanting to have a starting point for my Ewa bra size before ordering.
I've had EM's 'S' bras suggested to me before, specifically when I did a fit request with my 36G Freya Deco, which now has fairly warped cups from my full-on-bottom (and full-in-center if it's a thing) breasts pushing out towards the middle. Link to that closed fitting advice about the Deco in case you think it'd help you answer:
http://www.bratabase.com/troubleshoot/dhxa8/The fit:
I know that the 80GG (36GG) looks a little tight in the band but I measure 38'' ribcage and 36'' pulled tight. I haven't found 38 bands to be firm enough to stay in place and support me. The underwires are low on the sides and don't contain my armpit chub, but the width of the wires seems pretty good (they don't dig in another inch back like my 36GG Panache Jasmine, which otherwise fits well). Clearly a lot of quad-boob, and I know the from below shot is weird, but I think my boobs are close-set and possibly full-in-the-middle so I included that to show how much they want to be in the center, lol.MY QUESTION:
Based on the fit of this EM Plunge in 80GG (36GG), what size do you think I should try in an EM 'S' Bra?I originally wanted to try a larger size of a EM Pl style too but it looks like 80H/80HH are special order only now The S and Sm bras are the only ones showing up in those sizes. If you have any other brand/style suggestions besides EM I'm always open to suggestions.
Thank you!
*Edited to change ribcage measurement to pulled-very-tight (36'') rather than normal (38'') and finally figured out how to change the breast shape listing to be accurate as well.

helpfulI have the S Czekolada, S Fiolek, & SM Trefl in size 80H, and if I'm reading your volume right from your photos, that cup size should probably work for you. You might need an extender for the S models if you're attached to the 80 band, but the SM (at least the black one) had a lot of stretch. If you have a wide root though, the shape of the S wires may fight with your boobs. Seriously, they're some of the narrowest wires I've ever seen.

helpfulMy dear, you should remeasure and put accurate numbers in bratabase, as well as breast shape.
That way your suggestions will be more accurate.
Because if your ribcage is 96 cm, there is no way you'd be able to close the band that stretches to 91 cm!The wires are in fact too narrow for you - they are poking you quite badly on the side in picture number two and there is some serious side boob going on there too.
In PL cut I would suggest two cups up seeing this - 80HH.
In the S cut one cup up should be enough 80H.
Note that the S Bezyk is *very* tight in the band - I wear a 30 band in Panache Jasmine and 32 S Bezyk was tighter then Jasmine - so if you want that one I'd go with 85GG.
I am afraid though that the wires will be still too narrow for you :/Updated on June 25, 2013 Flag this

I have added new measurements to show my very-tight ribcage measurement (36 in/ 91.4cm) rather than my normal firm measurement (38 in/ 96.5cm), the other measurements are the same. I didn't know that I was supposed to list the very-tight one, that's why I mentioned both in my post. I couldn't figure out how to edit the breast shape listing before today (although now it seems obvious, whoops) but now that is correct as well.
Thanks for your suggestions, I understand your concern about the narrowness of the wires-- I've just had such a difficult and painful time with most of the wider wires that I've tried that trying narrower wires that line up better with my fold seems like a logical next step. I guess I should be looking for something that has higher wires on the sides so I could swoop that tissue that's more under my arm back to my boob where it belongs. Good point about the band stretch amount too, thanks!

helpfulSorry, no constructive feedback as I am about to order my first S myself! I have a PL that I like, but don't love - it's and 85G, and I think I'd be better in an 80GG, so I'd like to try one first before committing to an order! I'm normally a Deco girl myself, and it sounds like we have some similar bra issues! I'll definitely be sure to update you when I do get my S. (and if you want, I'll totally take this one off your hands to see if it fits any better than the 85G I currently have! Seriously!).
However, more to the point. I've found EMs to be pretty inconsistent in their band extensibility based upon the color/material of the bra. The Milady I had was RIGID, while the Stalowka is significantly more malleable. It seems (someone chime in if I am wrong) that the "prettier" ones (lace overlays, pretty materials, etc) tend to be rigid, while the more "utilitarian" colors (lavender grey, nude) are a bit more forgiving. I would stick with an 80, maybe an 85 if you're getting one of the more firm options. And I would guess probably 2 cup sizes up from where you are now, whatever that means for the band you go with.

Thanks, good point about the band stretch! I'll keep that in mind-- I just wish they offered a black S bra! The red/black one just looks like something out of Pokemon to me (my boyfriend pointed out that it was all the better to 'Peek-atc-hu', har har nerd humor) and I'd really like a dark color. Probably go for the basic blue one if I go through with this order, thanks for the tips!
I'll message you about taking this 80GG off my hands soon too, it's certainly not doing me any good to hoard it!

Thanks! I'm really not opposed to using an extender, I'd rather do that than have a fairly useless bra when I run out of hooks and not have the funds to replace it.
I wouldn't say I have a wide root (I've finally figured out how to update my shape listing! sorry, it's correct now) -- more that I just have some breast tissue in the underarm area that needs to remigrate back to where it belongs. Good to know about the narrowness though, thanks a lot for your help!
